I visited during Tier 2 lockdown. The tables are spaced with partitions and the staff extremely helpful and friendly. There is a fixed set menu at a very reasonable price (approximately £20) and you will be fine ordering from this. The portions are large and the Goujons of Chicken tasted fantastic. The ambiance is a little od fashioned but smart as you would find in Italy. It is a great place for an evening out.

My first visit to Eastbourne and I wanted to arrange an evening meal for friends. La Locanda Del Duca was reccomended to me and I booked a table for five. The staff were most welcoming, they had provided a round table which is thoughtful for the number present. most of us kept to the Set Menus which was good variety and excellent value, as was the Italian wine list. Look forward to returning here on my next visit.

Never before have I felt the urge to write a review on where I have eaten; although reasonably busy the attention to social distancing was adhered, but this did not detract from the level of service and the quality of food. I have spent many years of my youth in Italy and this brought back fond memories of the eating experience. Such a shame that we won’t be able to enjoy this again until this time next year!

My husband and I went for lunch, phoning ahead as we wanted space for a buggy. As soon as we arrived we were made to feel very welcome and they had moved a table to one side to allow plenty of space for the pushchair. The mussels were fabulous, scallops very good, followed by the monkfish (delightful) and risotto di mare (excellent), with a tiramisu (yum!) to finish.

This is the very best Italian meal we have had outside Italy and we have had our fair share. The compliance with current COVID regulations was impeccable. The staff were excellent in service and humour. The ambience was as a restaurant in Italy, busy and full of life. The food was outstanding in every way. The cost is slightly higher than other restaurants in the area but, this is expressed in the quality and presentation on your plate.
It was a fantastic dining experience. Well done to the whole team.
