We dined whilst in Eastbourne at La Locanda del Duca, as we have done several times before,.Th e food was excellent and generous portions. The staff were helpful, polite and cheerful and we shall certainly go again when in Eastbourne.

recommended by the doorman at the Grand Hotel, so glad we took his advise.
the food was traditional Italian and was very busy - but we went on the off-chance

Top restaurant, good food (especially the veal), friendly staff, owner greets at table, and fair value. I use it regularly and nearly as good as the real thing. Next door is the Pomodoro e Mozzarella which is a bit more pizza and pasta but just as good. Highly recommended.

We had a delicious meal here recently on a stay in Eastbourne. The manager came around and greeted us after we were seated which we thought quite a nice (and unusual!) touch. The waitress was pleasant enough and the service was prompt. My partner ate calves liver which he loved and I had the veal, which was also beautifully cooked and in a cream and mushroom sauce which was not overly rich - just right. We shared bruschetta to start which was very tasty and skipped puds so cannot really vouch for those. The decor was fine, a little old fashioned maybe, but the food more than made up for it. I would say it's slightly more expensive than other restaurants in the area but I think still good value. It appears to have a slightly 'cheap and cheerful' sister restaurant a couple of doors away with a menu of largely pizza, pasta, etc. which was also very busy.

We always try to go to this restaurant for our annual family trip to Eastbourne. It never disappoints. There is always something nice for the more fussy members of the family and the staff make it a really special occasion. It doesn't break the bank either.

Great place - and if it's recommended by the Grand Hotel it's going to be good. The calves liver with prosciutto is to die for as is all the veal. Don't forget the Valpolicella - lovely and good value. Staff great, you'd struggle to beat it.

By far the best Italian restaraunt in Eastbourne. The food, service and atmosphere is exsquisite. The feel of the restaraunt and the way the staff treat you make you feel like a celebrity. From your waiters to the management. So if your trying to spoil a loved one or really celbrate this where you need to go.

Great little find. We went there on Sunday night and again on Tuesday night and had great meals both times. Excellent value for money at around £25 per head including bottle of wine and drinks. Lots of choice on the menu, good service and lovely food. May need to book at weekends though as it was very busy which speaks for itself.

We were looking for a restaurant a few minutes walk from our seafront hotel and came across this one. The set price menu had plenty of choice for both my wife and myself. The minestrone soup was the genuine article, the veal was tender and delicious and the sweets superb. The bill was less than £50 for both of us including a couple of drinks and before we left the manager came and chatted to us and we told him how much we enjoyed the meal

Del Duca was recommended by Mario an Italian Chef & Vivien the owners of the 'Coast' Guest House, which I also recommend to stay in Eastbourne. We liked it so much, we went back three times on this year's 5 day visit to Eastbourne. This is by far our favourite restaurant in Eastbourne now. A good selection of choices on the menu including two or three course menu options which were excellent value for money. The food was excellent quality, cooked to a very high standard and well presented. The staff were warm & friendly making you feel very welcome and the decor was clean & delightful. A wonderful experience, love the ice cream 'grazie Duca & your staff' look forward to seeing you again next time we are in Eastbourne Ciao! Sharon Brightly - Fleet Hampshire

Chose by accident but what a gem - excellent extensive menu and food was superb.

Manager introduced himself and returned later to check food and service.

Highly recommend for Italian food in Eastbourne

Excellent food, service and value. My friend and I both had pasta dishes with salad, then lemon sorbet. This may all sound pretty standard but believe me it was much better than that, really delicious and beautifully presented. The service also was excellent.

The food was excellent, you could tell all was freshly cooked and also cooked to a very high standard. Service was excellent and very flexible, offering to add asparagus to my seafood risotto when I couldn't decide between the one with asparagus and the seafood one. Reasonable prices and must be a popular restaurant as it was pretty busy but staff coped well. Appreciated the offer of a free liqueur at the end of the meal too. Would definitely recommend.

We popped by a couple of days ago as we had the urge for a good steak.
I had a simple filet and my wife had the fillet "Alla Rossini" and they were both great. This was washed down with a rather nice bottle of Malbeck
It is always a nice touch when you get offered a brandy on the house and Luca, the owner, who served us personally was true to form here.
Although this is not a silver sevice restaurant, the level of attentiveness is equal to one, you always leave feeling very special afterwards with that lovely feeling in your stomach from good food and wine!!!
We will be back!

The La Locanda Del Duca has certainly got a feel of Italian romance about it.My wife and I eat here quite often ,the music and decor is so cool and the staff are excellent with nothing ever being to much trouble. We have eaten as a couple,as a foursome and a party of nearly 30 and the service has never lapsed. The food is absolutely superb and very well presented which points to the skills and dedication of the kitchen staff and when we leave we alway hold hands as the romance is carried out by us even though we are both over 60.Try it for your selves and see xx.

the most superb food cooked to perfection. How anyone could call this pricey is an insult to the standards applied to the whole experience of a visit to this outstanding restaurant. The laid back atmosphere simply reflects the confidence the owner,Luca and his totally dedicated staff have in knowing every dish leaving their kitchen is perfect. We ate there three nights in a row and our only regret was we did not find out about it before we wasted money and time in other souped up restaurants that charge the earth and fail to please. We have eaten in some of the best restaurants in London also in Europe and would be delighted to return to La Locanda Del Duca

Been to this restaurant several times and dishes served are carefully produced and attractively presented. Service is efficient and friendly. Good value and recommended. The sister restaurant next door is also good but not quite as up market as this one!
