We are currently at the hotel on a coach tour for Christmas. We have been here once before and had such a great time that we decided to come back. How glad we are that we did.
The room is quite compact but it has everything that we need and more. For a short visit we can't complain.
The food is delicious, cooked very well and presented nicely. The choice cannot be faulted, there is something for everyone including those with dietary requirements.
Again, the attention to details from the staff is amazing. All the staff are helpful, polite and friendly and nothing seems to be too much trouble. When we arrived our cases were taken to our rooms and the check in was so quick. We then had refreshments and cakes whilst they sorted out our cases.
Tea/coffee/biscuits/bottled water and some toiletries are provided in the rooms for free.
On Christmas Eve we returned to our room after dinner to find a present from the hotel. A lot of thought went into these presents and they were very much appreciated.
On Christmas Day, during lunch, Father Christmas arrived with more presents for all the guests, which again was a very lovely touch.
As stated above, all the staff are brilliant but the person that is most outstanding is Simon, the General Manager. He is so helpful, kind, friendly and nothing is too much trouble for him. We saw him going over and above his duties to ensure that everyone's stay was a memorable experience.
A big THANK YOU to Neil and Wendy for all their hard work and feel they should be very proud of their staff and their hotel.

Had lunch again at this Hotel and there is only one word to describe it, FABULOUS. The staff, including the management are efficient and attentive and the food is outstanding. They cater so well for my no salt diet and eating in this Hotel is a real pleasure. The portions are really a good size and you certainly never go away disappointed, or hungry!

The group I went there with had been there before and were so impressed that our organiser decided to have the annual Christmas lunch there.
When i heard there were 120 of us going I thought the food will be dissapointing as so many places can't cater en mass satisfactory.
BUT what a very pleasant surprise- the food was cooked to perfection. Plates hot and so thankfully so was the food.
The staff were fantastic. So was Father Christmas and his helper who were bearing gifts.
We were entertained through lunch by a very nice guy.
Well done The Langham.

As a member of staff for Fibrecare UK Ltd we had our company Christmas Party at Langham Hotel on Friday 15 December 2017. I can say without fear of contradiction everybody in our party had a brilliant time. The service, from the moment we walked in was excellent, from taking our coats to guiding us to our table. The food was fantastic, I have had many Christmas Parties at several venues and for once I was not disappointed. All 3 courses were delicious and hot when served. The music was also good and the dance floor was always busy. You don't have to guess where our next years Christmas Party is going to be. I would like to give a big thank you to Mr Kirby and his ever attentive staff.

Large room with sea view, staff, food and the hotel are good with spotlessly clean room & ensuite facilities. Parking was £8 per night which we thought was quite expensive. That aside our stay was lovely.

My husband and I often have coffee at The Langham but have never eaten here so decided we would take a group of friends to the Sunday Jazz Lunch.
What a great decision that was. There were 10 of us and our round table was more than adequate for all of us.
There was a good choice of food on offer, at an excellent price of £17.50 for 2 courses or £25 for 3 courses. On this occasion it even included a glass of prosecco - lovely! We didn't have to decide beforehand which offer we wanted, it was an individual choice made at the table, so that made it much simpler.
For starters some of our group had mussels whilst the others had the home-made tomato soup with garlic/herb scone. Then all but one of us had the roast beef carvery with the remaining guest having the salmon. A few of our group managed to save some room for dessert and selected the cheese board. All of us were very happy with our food which was excellent with good size portions and plenty of vegetables.
The service was also first class, despite the restaurant being almost fully booked.
The Jazz band was superb, with a good variety of music, but it was not intrusive as we could still chat with each other whilst they played.
Thank you for making the start of our festive season so enjoyable. We will definitely come back again.

I think the first thing I need to say is I was blown away by Eastbourne. What a lovely place of you haven't been you should.

The Langham Hotel is lovely. I've stayed in its name sake in London and whilst different it does the Langham name proud. I was lucky enough to look around the Langham in London before it's last restoration got underway and I imagine the Langham in Eastbourne must have been in a similar state before it's restoration.

It's just how a lovely seaside hotel should be. Warm, friendly and very well run. We had a nice mini suit overlooking the sea, from our bay window we could see right up the coast and across to the pier.... A real treat to wake up to.

The dining room was a delight, when we were there it was set with huge tables and as lovely as I'd seen anywhere. The quality of everything was high.

Amazing value for money, I really can't recommend the hotel highly enough.

I thoroughly enjoyec my stay at The Langham Hotel. Reception staff were very welcoming and efficient. My bedroom was clean and functional, as was the bathroom. The towels were soft and fluffy, the toiletries were lovely and good quality. There was plenty of tea, coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits with more available on request. The bottled water was a nice touch.
Breakfast was very good. I was seated in the conservetory and had great sea views whilst eating a good full English with lots of coffee. Again, staff were very polite and service was impeccable.
There were pre-booked parking spaces available but the hotel is on a bus route and only a 5 minute walk to the pier and a little further to the town. It is quite near to the Royal Hippodrome theatre.
I only stayed for one night but I loved it.

The Langham was recommended to us by a friend who lives in the town. The seafront hotels on this stretch see a constant flow of coaches disgorging travellers of a certain age into their lobbies, and it seemed The Langham was a similar model. However, we needn't have worried, as this is a hotel that clearly knows what it is doing. Seemingly it can cope with huge numbers for breakfast (our only meal here), while still offering a good table service to the couples sitting in the seafront conservatory. There is a clear sense of the staff showing attention to detail when setting the rooms, suggesting a management on top of its game. Our bedroom loked like it had been recently refurbished, and was immaculately clean. The only small criticism is of the two tiny pillows on the bed - which we would gladly have traded in place of the ubiquitous flock of of useless cushions. Front desk staff could do with raising their eyes a little more, when guests come and go - though the lady who checked us out was extremely personable and redeemed the operation. There's a hint of theatricality about the place too. We will certainly stay here again when we next visit Eastbourne.

Yet again the Langham has surpassed itself. A hotel of quality at competetive prices. Neil and Wendy and all of their staff made our stay and that of the brethren and their guests enjoyable and comfortable. Nothing was too much trouble for any member of staff who were always happy, courteous and helpful. This year we extended our stay to cover Thursday through to Monday with a number of guests doing the whole five days. The banquet on Saturday night was amazing. The jazz lunch on Sunday was superb as was all the food and the afternoon tea is second to none. We felt special from the moment we arrived to the moment we left and that was all down to the way the staff treated everyone. We cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. It was a pleasure working with Neil and Wendy to achieve another memorable weekend. Again thank you to Neil and Wendy Kirby. proprietors of the hotel, Simon the General Manager, and everyone who made our stay so memorable.

The hotel is situated on the sea front and in a perfect location to explore Eastbourne and its surroundings. It has a small car park at the rear and is charged at a very reasonable rate. The room was very quiet and comfortable. My one complaint would be that it was a double bedded room. We find it difficult to sleep in such a small bed. Breakfast was included in the rate which was freshly cooked, many courses and served at the table. We had dinner in the hotel as the weather was not suitable for walking to a restaurant. This was very reasonably priced and a good quality. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Would stay there again but in a room with a bigger bed.

Nice conversion of a terrace of 6 Victorian villas into a lovely seaside hotel overlooking the sea.
Our room was clean and comfortable, more than than adequate in size, (and ours was one of the smaller rooms judging by the fire escape plan) at the front of the hotel with a sea view. Tall elegant bedroom nicely furnished. We slept with the window slightly ajar and slept well, with the traffic being no problem. Bed had a coverlet, sheets and a blanket. Toiletries were Gilchrist & Soames with nice bars of soap, mini bottles of lotion etc. Bath has been replaced with a long shower tray and wet room section but the shower control was not obvious or easy but it did have a fold down seat. Slippers, face cloths and a single bathrobe supplied along with tea & coffee equipment and bottled water. Small coffee table by the window with a pair of comfy 'club' chairs from which to admire the sea view. Also a desk/dressing table with a stool, wardrobe and plenty of drawer space. Some free car parking nearby. Staff and service all excellent. Went on a Travelzoo deal so we got some Member benefits too. Restaurant food good and quite filling. Good value.

We were a party of nine who attended the Sunday Jazz Lunch. The food was first class, good value for money with excellent service from the attentive staff, The Jazz was not intrusive allowing conversation with fellow diners. The ambience was perfect.

We have stayed at the Langham Hotel on a few occasions, twice on masonic Ladies'
Weekends. Every time we stay there we promise to return and we do.
Neil & Wendy (the owners) and Simon (the manager) make it their business to ensure everything runs smoothly. All facilities are very good and service from the charming staff is second to none.
Thanks to all at the Langham Hotel for our fabulous weekend 6,7 & 8 October 17.

Had a lovely stay whilst attending a Ladies festival at the end of September. Our room was very spacious and clean and had wonderful sea views. Service was excellent throughout and the Bar and Restaurant staff worked tirelessly and were always polite and helpful. The food was very good and there was a good choice at both dinner and breakfast.
Nice walks to be had along the seafront and a good local pub, The Victoria, just around the corner.

We stayed at the Langham Hotel for two days at the end of September 2017. Before doing so we had read the many reviews by previous guests the majority of which contained nothing but praise.

We stayed in a superior Double room which I can only describe as excellent. We had first class sea views and it was quite apparent that the room had been subject to a high standard refurbishment. This was particularly the case with the en suite bathroom. Large and with a walk in shower it added to the overall experience.

If I had one complaint to make (tongue in cheek) it was that the bath robe provided was too small for a 6 ft. 2ins fat boy like myself! (Yes I can anticipate the response to this).

The breakfast was very good. We have stayed at many places where you might get a bigger breakfast but these are usually greasy spoon in nature. Breakfast at the Langham was not only adequate but cooked to a high standard. There was a good choice and the salmon was particularly well received. The service was prompt and efficient and at no time did we feel under any time pressures or constraints.

The staff at the hotel were super friendly and this made the stay that much better for us.

I have read reviews where mention is made of coach parties being at the hotel. I have to say that you only have to spend a day in Eastbourne to appreciate that all of the hotels take coach parties. It would be crazy for the Langham not to be one of these. Absolutely no problems with this and the hotel had a buzz about it as a result. In no way did this interfere with our stay.

Whilst at the Hotel we heard a number of seasoned visitors to Eastbourne praising the Langham as the best hotel they had stayed in. Walking along the front and viewing the other hotels I would not doubt this.

Car parking is limited but we were more than willing to pay the extra fee and had no problems securing a space at the last minute.

If you like using public transport then you can catch a 99 bus to Hastings close to the hotel or else make your way to the nearby pier where you can get a number of buses (12) to Brighton. Both services were very frequent.

Eastbourne itself has plenty of good shopping and the hotel is in close proximity to a number of restaurants, public houses and fast food outlets.

I have also read a minority of reviews which describe the Langham as being 'tired'. For us the choice of phrase would be 'elegant'. At no point did it appear in any way 'tired'. Indeed judging by the photographs adorning the walls it is apparent that over the years the Langham has been home to many well known and distinguished guests.

We enjoyed Eastbourne and Brighton and if (or when) we return we will have no hesitation in staying at The Langham again.

Thank you for making our first trip to Eastbourne such a pleasant experience.

The hotel overlooks the sea. The staff are incredible being friendly and attentive and yet remaining completely professional. Nothing was too much trouble and every request was met with courtesy and pleasure.

The food was excellent and the Ladies Festival was well planned competitively priced and managed by the hotel.

Stayed here last weekend with Family for a Mason's Ladies Festival.
The hotel is family run with excellent customer service nothing was to much trouble.
I would especially like to mention Rosie our waitress she really did look after us in the restaurant nothing was too much trouble for this polite young lady.
The quality of the food in Langhams restaurant was excellent which is very impressive considering how many guess they were catering for but they had plenty of staff to cope with the number tables.
On our next visit are going to try the Cream Tea Lunch as it looked amazing when a couple next us to us were having served we all said wow when it arrived.
The young lady that checked us in in reception was very welcoming and friendly I didn't catch her name but she is a credit to the business.
Our room was spotlessly clean we could not find a fault with anything.
Overall I would say our stay was made memorable by the great team of staff here at the Langham, we sure to return.

My wife and me came here on a Masonic weekend last year and everyone loved it so much we re-booked and repeated the experience. The owner has history of working in top London hotels and knows what he’s doing. The facilities, food, and staff are brilliant! I would thoroughly recommend staying here.

Booked in as part of Coach Party. Excellent room overlooking sea front. Room very clean and had really good shower. Comfortable Bed. No comments about meals only criticism was the Fried Bread with Breakfast (terrible needs removing from menu). Only one lift which did cause some hold ups. The Staff are mostly young but really efficient and happy really enjoyed chatting to them at meal times. No real issues with noise being on sea front. We would certainly stay there again.
