I booked a cream tea with 2 friends for my 65th birthday. The food was very good - in fact so much we had to take some cakes home for husbands! the service was excellent. We were chatting for a long time but were never hurried along.

The whole experience was brilliant, great service, amazing good and will always go back. Really can't prise the hotel enough, a home from home. As was the many other visits to the best hotel in the county not just Eastbourne.

Having just returned from a 2night break here I feel compelled to write and share my excellent experience in this review. My wife and I stayed here at the beginning of May, we found everything to be excellently organised and this is a real quality 4* star hotel. (Eastbourne's First and Only AA Four Star Hotel at that!)

The reception team are excellent and nothing was too much trouble, all staff generally were knowledgeable and polite. Our room was of high quality and we had a seaview - the bay window was great for sitting and watching/looking out to sea.

We enjoyed afternoon tea in the conservatory on the second day - excellent value at £19 per person, great selection of fresh loose teas to choose from too. (They must have a brilliant Pastry chef! - Its almost a meal in itself, but managed to squeeze dinner in too!)

Thank you for a wonderful stay, we plan to return perhaps for your Christmas Package or on your winter special break. I'm happy to recommend this hotel to anyone - if you are looking for a quality hotel with a warm welcome.

Hotel was booked as a surprise by the mother in law for our first wedding anniversary. On arrival parking availability wasn't brilliant as all parking had been pre-booked by an event the hotel had going on in the evening. However the receptionists were very helpful in finding us free parking just around the corner.

Check in experience was painless and the receptionist took great delight in telling us how exceptional the view was from our suite. She wasn't wrong. The receptionist informed us of the private function planned for this evening and explained that it could go on late into the evening so apologised if we experienced any excessive noise (which we didn't). We stayed in the cuckmere suite and I would recommend this to anyone wanting to stay at this hotel as the view of the ocean is breathtaking.

Decor is mostly modern. Curtains in the bedroom seem dated but that is the only critique that can be made of this beautiful environment. Bed was like floating on air and all mod cons were available (tv, kettle, hairdryer etc) room was exceptionally clean and everything I asked for was taken care of with no fuss. I requested an iron and within 2 minutes it had been delivered. Bathroom was very clean, shower was easy to use and very nice however the water did splash out on to the bathroom floor from the shower unit but this was not really an inconvenience.

Breakfast was very pleasant and rounded off a good stay. Everything was cooked well and the waitress was very keen to make sure we had everything we needed.

Check out was also painless and reception staff very pleasant. I would definitely recommend and will look to book the room again for me and my wife in the future just to take in the view again.

Came for a Masonic weekend. We do a lot of these weekends but this venue is by far the best masonic venue we been to. Came 4 years ago there was a little more attention to detail then however that's not to say this time it wasn't brilliant. Staff where truly wonderful. Food great. Nothing was fault-able. Only downside you wait a while to served at the bar. Hotel view from room amazing.

Me and my wife stayed here for a night at the beginning of May and I have to say we both had a great time. From the moment we arrived the reception staff made us feel welcome. Our bedroom was delightful and had a spectacular view of the seafront - great for people watching! Had a delicious meal in the conservatory (the giant cod was particularly good!) and the service at dinner was so obliging and slick - nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast great too. We both plan to return here again in the summer and cannot wait!

Found this hotel on Tripadvisor and like the look of the rooms so decided to explore Eastbourne for the first time. My partner and I love to visit English seasides and explore them. When we checked in to the Langham we were greeted by a lovely receptionist named "Tia" she gave us a warm welcome. We had a room without a view but that was fine as it was for one night but we thought the room was very spacious with all that we needed.

We also booked dinner for the night and have to recommended the rack of Lamb it was divine, desserts were also good and they had a great wine selection to choose from so all in all we were very happy.

We ventured into Eastbourne and found lots of great places like the Redoubt fortress and the local shopping centre (Arndale) that is going through some changes but still had some great shops to look around.

We visit Eastbourne alot to visit our family and always stay here at the Hotel. We decided to upgrade to the Amberley Suite and it was worth every penny. Stunning views of the pier and seafront, lovely tall windows and big king size bed.

Breakfast has not changed to buffets which is something me and my partner do not enjoy, still a lovely breakfast. We did not have dinner but decided to eat in the bar and have the fish and chips which is still again the same, huge cod and chips with amazing mushy peas and tartar sauce.

Staff always recommend this place to our friends if they want to visit a great seaside town.

Our room was on the top floor,it was decorated nicely with plenty of storage. The bathroom had a walk in shower but no bath, nice fluffy towels and bathrobes provided. We were very impressed with the quality of the food served at both the dinners we had and there was a great variety of choice at breakfast. The staff were very efficient, friendly and professional. Although the window ledge had spikes on to stop birds from landing we were woken by pigeons on the roof in the morning.Tea making facilities were welcome

Stayed for 3 nights Midweek in May as a couple. Part holiday and part visiting relatives. Friendly and efficient reception and found a room for us straight away. Throughout our stay we found all staff very friendly, helpfull and efficient. Our double sea-view room (304) was excellent and we thoroughly recommend you take a sea-view room.. As we could see the sea whilst lying in bed drinking coffee in the morning. The room was spotless and bathroom with great shower was perfect for us. Nice to see excellent Bass real ale on tap in the bar and sandwiches in the bar were excellent. We eat twice in the evening in the restaurant (conservatory is nice and intimate with perfect sea-views. The food was without exception excellent. The cod & chips were as good as I have had anywhere - so glad I chose that one evening. The one and only thing we could criticise is that the hotel does not provide duvets but still has old-fashioned blankets and sheets. It seems that in general this is standard in Eastbourne (according to the hotel). Certainly is the one and only thing that might put us off returning and I would imagine a few other people.

Stayed overnight for a festival dinner. Check in staff were very helpful and as our room was not ready arranged to gave our luggage taken up later. The lunchtime bar food and service was excellent. The rooms were very well maintained with comfortable beds but rather small, in particular the bathroom which was very difficult to move around in. The towel rail was over the back if the WC which was impossible for me to reach. There was plenty of drawer space and an alcove for hanging clothes but very little space to walk around the room. Breakfast was served at the table which was nice but only average quality products. All in all a well maintained clean hotel with excellent staff but could have done with a little more room and better quality breakfast.

Arranged a family lunch for my wife for a special birthday. We were allocated the Blue Alcove with its lovely stained glass window which was perfect for us. It was a Jazz Lunch with a delightful trio and the atmosphere in the room was great. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left we were looked after by the owner and his very attentive staff. An unexpected announcement and the arrival of a birthday cake with the whole restaurant singing Happy Birthday was the icing on the cake !! Very highly recommended - you will not be disappointed if you visit this lovely restaurant.

Loved the food, the table service at breakfast (big plus not to have to queue at a buffet) and the staff generally were lovely. Afternoon tea was quite wonderful. The room was very comfortable and clean. The view from our room was great but some people might find the sea and traffic noise disturbing in which case ask for a room a the back
I had asked for a low floor when booking but was allocated a room on the top floor. It was also along a very narrow corridor and down a short flight of steps so access was quite difficult as I use a mobility aid. I should really have challenged this with reception immediately - my fault that I didn't do so. The room also had its quirks, one being in that the hanging space for clothes is well over head height and my husband is 6 feet tall! I was unable to hang up any clothes myself! We also had a large walk in shower but the access was tight, to say the least. Fine if you're skinny...!!!

This is an old hotel (part of its charm) and all the rooms are different so would suggest you check when booking and ask for specific room which will meet your needs.

The hotel was also very busy with coach parties, and food and wine club diners! The entertainment in the bar at night made a quiet evening very difficult, and the background music made me feel like I'd stepped back into the 50s.

Booked the Langham to meet up with family. First impressions maybe a little shabby but after being welcomed by lovely receptionist and seeing our room we were pleasantly surprised. Our corner room had been refurbished and had a great sea view. The other single room had a sea view but probably needed a refurb too. Breakfast was very good and although we didn't have dinner there as we were meeting other family members we wished we had as menu etc looked very good. Receptionist told us other rooms etc were going to be refurbished in the near future. Wouldn't hesitate to return.

This was our third stay at the Langham, again for a ladies festival weekend - the exception this time that it was my wife and I's weekend.
When it came to selecting a venue, the Langham was our immediate choice. From our previous visits we knew that the service and food would be delivered to a high standard. We also knew the rooms were recently renovated.
With regards to the Ladies Festival weekend, the package the hotel provides takes so much of the hard work out of your hands. The hardest job was deciding on what we would have for the banquet! I would happily recommend the Langham without question.
I am already looking forward to visiting the hotel again in the future.

We stayed in a beautiful room the first floor. The decor and attention to detail in the room was amazing. This place is leagues ahead of its competitors.
Highly recommend this hotel. The owner Neil was friendly and made us very welcome .

Very good friendly hotel. The restaurant staff is very accommodating and friendly. Dinner, breakfast and the bottle of prosecco was great. Check in and check out was easy. Our room was perfect. The location is also great. Close to the pier and the crazy golf. Thank you very much.

Stayed here on a bed breakfast an evening meal basis in a deluxe sea view room, on 17th April. It was a last minute night away, booked the day before.
We have never ventured that far along the east coast of southern England before, having always stopped at Brighton previously. I am so pleased we decided to go further. Both The Langham and Eastbourne, exceeded expectations. We loved our room, it was the perfect size and spotless. The bed and pillows were exceptionally comfortable, had cotton sheets and bed faced the view, very important for your morning cup of tea. Everything worked perfectly, had plenty of sockets, a powerful fan, hairdryer, all you needed in the bathroom and fantastic quality towels and bathrobes. Everything top notch, perfect.
The staff couldn't be more helpful and very professional. We arrived behind a large party of guests, who were greeted and processed through so well and quickly, that within 2 minutes we were on our way to our lovely room.
The restaurant staff were just as good, the food served was of a very good standard, with plenty of choice which you could add to with the addition of a small supplement. Breakfast the next morning was really good, again plenty of choice, beautifully cooked and served with a smile.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and wish we could have stayed for longer, will definitely return and would highly recommend.
Thank you all at The Langham, you've definitely got it right!

The views along the coast were sublime, Beachy Head is a MUST, absolutely stunning drive.

We went for the Jazz Lunch today at the Langham. As always, the food was superb and the service exceptional. The staff are all really friendly, polite and they are trained to an extremely high standard. Nothing is too much trouble for them.
This was also lunch to celebrate my birthday. The owner Neil had arranged a birthday cake for me, which was such a lovely gesture. You are always made to feel welcome by the whole team, and I would highly recommend the hotel and/or restaurant to anyone.

When ever we are in Eastbourne we always enjoy a walk along the seafront which always gives a thirst for a coffee, so this is our palce of choice. You might think it strange to use a hotel but the Langham has some lovely tables outside and serves lovely tea and coffee and with your cup of tea or coffee you can either have a piece of flapjack or a shortcake biscuit. The price is jusy right and the staff always pleasent.

Really friendly and professional staff with some great advice for us holiday makers.
Lovely room with a great view (even of the town - as I was not sea facing).
Breakfast was great and I would be back there given he chance.

Its a 5 star service in a hotel that can't do enough for you. Sue and David run it very well. Its very reasonably priced. Rooms are clean and nice but understandably nothing flash. Restaurant and sea views are lovely, once again super service and food! Lukas and Laura looked after us very well. Steak was perfect! 😊👌🏻

We have had less than satisfactory stays in other hotels in Eastbourne but found that Langham Hotel is a great place to spend time by the sea. The staff are friendly and very helpful and the guy who owns it is in and around the hotel on a daily basis. He carried my bags to my room when we arrived! This is a very personal touch which I think speaks volumes about the amount they care about their customers. When we left we were given complimentary bottles of water for the journey home - nice touch, and much appreciated during our snail-pace journey on the M25!
The hotel is very clean and the room we stayed in had been recently decorated and refurbished. The bathroom was very modern with a walk-in shower area. I'm hoping that the Reception area will get the same treatment soon - it is rather old-fashioned and a bit dark. Some staff have been there for a number of years, which is also reassuring. We will definitely stay there again.

Stayed here for a couple of days over the weekend as a single guest. I cannot argue with the price and was more than happy to pay an extra £5 per night for a sea view. However, I was very disappointed at the size of the room. It was approximately 5 foot wide (I couldnt lie sideways and I am 5ft 10) with admittedly a good sea view but not even room for a bedside table. Where am I supposed to put my tea? Interestingly I have looked at the hotel website and there are many photos of the delightful spacious double rooms but not one of a single room. I find this a little disingenuous of the management. The balcony, which you could step onto, was nice but would have been nicer without the old fag ends! Unfortunately I had a nighttime wanderer above me and the floor boards were so creaky that whenever they got up, I woke up too. This person left at 5:40 on my last morning - thanks. Breakfast in the sunny dining room looking to sea was excellent though and I loved walking on the Downs and coastal walks for 3 days.
