My wife has to eat a FODMAPS diet, it really challenges most chefs, Michael at the langham took it in his stride and produced meals just perfect for her.. A great hotel owned by Neil who started as a washer up and fought his way up the hotel management ladder, he has even written a book about his life story.

The staff were excellent; helpful, efficient and courteous. Our rooms a the back of the hotel may be due some refurbishment, but were very clean, comfortable and quiet. Dinner was very good value and the breakfast freshly cooked to order. We felt nothing was too much trouble.

The missus and myself have just returned from the Langham having just spent 5 days there on a half board basis, coach holiday. (11th-15th August 2014).
Although we had a room at the back of the hotel, missing out on a sea view, this wasn't an issue as we spent very little time there. The room itself was spotless and tastefully decorated, and the towels and bedding, (which were changed regularly), were of high quality.
A lot of time and money has clearly been spent on the hotel and the building has been decorated very tastefully throughout.
The food was consistently good with a choice to cover all tastes, and they appeared to cater very well for a lady in our party who had specific dietary needs.
The service was superb, friendly, efficient and professional, throughout the hotel and both myself and the fun prevention officer couldn't fault a thing throughout our stay.

One point which is especially noteworthy, is that one of our coach party had lost his ring at some point during our visit and only realised whilst our coach was driving home. Fortunately one of the staff had found it and handed it in. I consider actions such as this deserve to illustrate the hotel and the staff in a very positive light.

The entertainment at night consisted of a organist/singer, which appealed to the older members of our party but which a younger audience could consider a bit pedestrian. There was also a quiz and bingo in the downstairs bar.

Most of the clientele in the hotel were in the older age bracket, so if you're a young couple thinking of staying there you may want to take this into consideration.

The hotel is at the opposite end of the promenade from where the theatres and better shops are, however you can easily reach them by use of the regular buses or just take a leisurely 20 - 30 minute stroll.

Nearby places worth visiting are Arundel, Tunbridge Wells and Alfriston, ( a beautiful little hamlet). We also visited Bognor Regis and all I can say is that I fully endorse the person's opinon of the place when asked about it and he replied,"B****r Bognor!"

There are some beautiful walks and cycle rides to be had on the South Downs.
Brighton and Hastings are also in easy driving distance but as we didn't get the chance to visit either town I can't offer an opinion.

Whilst there we also watched the "Airbourne" show. Absolutely fantastic! If you're thinking of going to Eastbourne next year make sure you go when this show is on.

In conclusion, many thanks to all those concerned with the Langham hotel for an excellent holiday.

We stayed here a couple of years ago for a two night break in one of the old orange standard rooms. We mentioned this to Neil and took time to explain his plans and show us around the hotel and some rooms which had been refurbished to a wonderful standard. My partner is the Master of his Lodge this year and we have booked the Langham for our Ladies Weekend in March and have been for our overnight stay to discuss details, I know the weekend will exceed our expectations because of Neil and Wendy's knowledge and commitment and I can only echo the fab reviews being written before this!

I am so looking forward to going back!

We stayed in room 207 and had the best panoramic sea views, I photograph interiors for a living and this room was an absolute pleasure to stay in, modern design, good bed and great colours. Champagne on the terrace is a must for a summers evening and the trout at dinner was exceptional. Great location, friendly staff, we had a great time and will undoubtably be going back.

As I live in Eastbourne and am very proud to admit it, I take an interest in this family owned hotel and therefore felt we should write this review to put the record straight after reading a couple of nonfactual reviews we feel. One we feel doesn't give the true facts of a fine worthwhile body of people so much so that we felt we had to reply to them personally as they made us so mad after reading that review! The the other one my old uncle who used to run a travel agents before retiring once told me if the weather is poor it rains or is too hot then I and that travel company I booked the customer with can be sure of complaints? So that is enough said about that one as it was very hot both day and night when they stayed and no one can control the weather?
We have eaten at the Langham many times and never had a bad meal or cause for complaint Michael and his team we feel produce some of the best food we have ever had. Last January the 6th my wife organised my 65th birthday lunch for family and friends on a Sunday and my other surprise was we were booked into the Langham Hotel from Saturday to Sunday so we could enjoy my birthday lunch but also have a nice meal Saturday night and breakfast Sunday. I have no idea what was paid for this weekend stay, but I can most defiantly say we had a great stay. We were in the conservatory Saturday night as there was a function going on in the restaurant but we didn't feel unhappy that we were in the conservatory we had another great meal and the view from there is lovely, far better than being in the restaurant we feel. Our room was lovely and also clean which is a bonus in some places we have stayed. After our meal there was entertainment provided in the bar so we were more than happy. This continued Sunday with a great breakfast which I understand is in the room price. During our birthday lunch there were other parties in the restaurant as our numbers were not large enough to take over the whole restaurant but when other dinners heard the merriment and the singing of happy birthday they applauded me not complained about the noise that I along with my family and guests were making having a good time celebrating my 65th birthday? Lastly I have to defend the bloody masons as they were called, you see my brother in law is a mason since he retired and I therefore know that he along with his lodge have helped so many people by the continued fund raising that goes on weekly benefiting so many different charities, so if they want to sing and laugh and also have funny ceremonies and traditions they follow including eating at midnight if they continue to raise all this money at every opportunity as I know first hand they do, I for one say good on them and long may it continue. No one more than them deserve a weekend away together, but even then this fund raising goes on the whole weekend!
I hope that has made things a little clearer for the many people thinking of coming to stay here as Trip adviser is a very good thing but it has to be used fairly we feel containing all the facts.

We have enjoyed a lovely meal at The Langham hotel today, with over 100 customers and guest speaker Bob Jewson who related some of the events and stories of the 100th anniversary of the start of World War 1 on 5th August. The value was amazing, with a glass of Kraemer Brut Cuvee Close on arrival, a 3 course meal with a choice of white and red wines, followed by coffee and the talk by the guest speaker for £19! Where else can you get such good value. An excellent meal, wonderful friendly and courteous staff. Neil Kirby the owner certainly runs a good hotel and ensures all of his customers are felt special. I urge everyone to go to The Langham, collect a Lunch Club programme for 2014/15 and enjoy the experience of a quality hotel.

I have just come back from two nights at this hotel, and had the most amazing time. The hotel is absolutely spotless, beautifully decorated and my room had the most incredible views of the sea. The staff were all, without exception, very happy helpful and friendly, and really couldn't do enough. I also highly recommend the restaurant, as the food was fantastic both nights, really good quality. The bar area is lovely, with indoor and outdoor seating on the terrace. There is also an area with books and games and really comfy chairs, which was nice. It was just a gorgeous hotel, that was lovely to spend time in. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay, would recommend it to everyone, and definitely intend to go back!

We have just returned home from this hotel. I have to say we were disappointed with our room. It was so hot and airless. This was because under the floor boards there were hot water pipes The room was on the third floor at the back of the hotel. The carpet was so thin that the edges of the boards could be felt through it. The head board was not secured fully to the wall. The hotel provided us with a fan but even with this and the one small window left open night and day it was unbearable! On the plus side all the staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was of a good standard and the room was clean. The part of the hotel we were in desperately needs upgrading!

Have recently returned from the Langham Hotel after a very enjoyable stay at the Langham Hotel.

The Eastleigh Railway Bowling Club stayed at this hotel in 2006 and had a wonderful time. When

returning to the hotel to check out the facilities in readiness for 2015 we found the Langham to be

even better than in 2006. The decor was excellent, the staff very friendly and the breakfast and

evening meal superb. We had no hesitation in booking our tour to this hotel in 2015.

The Langham is perfectly situated for a weekend break, direct access to the seafront and many rooms with a sea view. The staff are all very friendly and welcoming and the food presented by head chef Michael is of a high standard. Would recommend for a weekend away and there is a great playground not far away for the children.

We stayed at the Langham 2 years ago and loved it hence our return this year. Knowing that the hotel management is continously upgrading the rooms, we experienced the new ones this stay. Beautifully completed. It's always lovely to have a fabulous looking room but the most important element of a hotel stay is the customer service. This was exceptional during our last stay and exceeded our expectations again. The majority of staff were the same as 2 years ago and nothing was ever too much trouble. All staff were standouts and look forward to experiencing the Langham top class service again, soon we hope.
As an additional bonus location is fabulous right on the seafront and the food. ....... From breakfast, snacks and dinner all super... highly recommend.

We stayed at the Langham with our friends for one night on 12th July. The excellent service started the night before our visit when Nick phoned me regarding a request I had made regarding our rooms. He was able to offer a solution to my request and was just checking it was suitable.Check in on arrival was very friendly and quick with directions to the car park and room keys issued. The four of us enjoyed drinks and lunch on the sun terrace before heading into Eastbourne. The bar staff were very friendly and the service was good.We enjoyed tasty sandwiches while enjoying the sun and the sea view.On arrival back at the hotel some hours later having been unable to find some late night supper to suit us we were able to enjoy some snacks in the bar area which were very welcome. Our rooms were excellent.Believe they had recently been refurbished.Very stylish and comfortable, spotlessly clean and well equipped.Breakfast was cooked to order so it was fresh and hot.It was not the tastiest breakfast Ive ever had,the sausages were bland and the egg was tiny. The fried bread was hard and I dont think the mushrooms were fresh. It was well presented and served with toast .The prunes in honey were lovely and served with a high quality natural yoghurt. When checking out we asked if we could look at some other room options prior to a planned visit in Feb 2015.We spoke to Fay at reception who was very helpful despite being very busy with people checking out.She was able to show us some rooms and noted all our requests. She was very professional, cheerful and helpful. All the staff were friendly and welcoming, the hotel is very comfortable, stylish and clean. It is in an excellent location within walking distance to the town.Thank you to the Langham and we look forward to our next visit.

My family had a superb birthday dinner in the restaurant. We sat in the conservatory overlooking a calm blue sea. The menu did not disappoint. Delicious steaks, fish and a filling risotto which my teenage granddaughter thought amazing (her first one!). The service was exemplary and we will return soon.

A business trip to Eastbourne, I wanted to avoid the travel lodge and find something with a sea view, the Langham had some good reveiws and appeared to be a step ahead of the other sea front hotels. I was not disapointed in any way. My Room had a great sea view with wide opening windows and the included breakfast was taken in the conservatory again with a great sea view, I arrived late and left early so free parking at the front of the hotel was a bonus. The only comment would be, and this is directed at all hotels please can an ironing board an iron be standard in all rooms.

We visited this hotel in March for a one night stay whilst visiting the area. The hotel was near the final stages of a complete refurbishment programme and it was looking very good. Our room was excellent as indeed were the other facilities. The hotel is nicely positioned overlooking the sea front & the best part of the stay was breakfast in the conservatory overlooking the sea, with the sun shining through. Service from the staff was excellent and we look forward to revisiting the hotel in 2015 when we shall be there for a one week stay.

The hotel and staff could not be better. The room is top quality and perfectly clean.
The whole experience is fault less. From booking to checking out the staff could not have been more helpful.
The view from the hotel bar and the room is spectacular and the sea view stated on booking surpassed my expectations giving me a panoramic view of the promenade.

We have stayed at the Langham on four separate occasions. We love it here. The food is amazing, the service superb, the staff brilliant and, in our opinion, it is the No 1 hotel in Eastbourne. The Langham provides the perfect package for any celebration or function, formal or informal. Ladies Festivals are out of this world. Team Langham are Tops!

I recently stayed at this hotel for a short break away, and my thoughts are this hotel definitely deserves it's #1 ranking. The hotel is family run and it shows, all the personal touches go a long way. The room we had was of exceptional quality. We had a room at the rear of the hotel but this was no problem as the hotel has a lovely bar area which overlooks the sea, we spent time in here and the service from the staff was always spot on. We dined in the conservatory restaurant and had a marvellous meal, I believe the restaurant has a rosette award for culinary and boy did it show.
From my very first encounter with Paul on making my reservation right the way through to check out again with Paul! all the staff were brilliant and this is what makes The Langham stand out the attention to detail is amazing.
So special thanks to Paul on the front desk, the guys in the bar and our waitress who's name escapes me. We will most definitely be back!

We arrived late in Eastbourne after a long drive through France and had no desire to continue our journey. A recommendation from a stranger in a pub caused to stop outside the Langham Hotel and go in to enquire if they had a room for the night. They had and when shown the room it was obviously perfect - fabulous quality and a sensational view out to sea and the pier. The bed was a real pleasure and the entire room was just delightful - my wife was impressed and that is really something!
After a really good nights sleep and a very good English breakfast for me and smoked salmon and scrambled eggs for herself (huge portion) with great coffee, we were fit to carry on the rest of journey but were actually sad to leave - if we had an extra day to spare we would have stayed for longer.
I have never been to Eastbourne before but look to go back to the Langham - keep up the standards please - a great place to stay.

Such a fabulous hotel. Food exceptional and out of this world. A excellent range and well executed. Rooms clean and well presented. Staff really friendly and nothing to much trouble. Communal areas spotless. Entertainment funny and good for couples playing all the songs we could sing along too. Would definitely stay here again.
