Just visited this hotel for the first time and attended the Rula Lenska lunch. We have already booked for three more special lunch events, as we found the quality of the food excellent, the service outstanding and very good value for money, which coupled with the talk by Rula Lenska, made a very enjoyable lunchtime. Very impressed with Neil the hands on manager, the way the chef catered for my very peculiar dietary requirement and the staff in general, who looked after our party very well, despite the lunch talk being a sell out.

Stayed here for 3 nights during March on a B&B basis. Clearly this is a hotel that believes that the staff are its greatest asset. Without exception the staff were courteous, friendly and helpful.

The hotel is situated on the seafront, about 15 mins walk from the main shopping area. Free parking was limited and in the end I parked on the seafront - £4 for 24 hours. WiFi was excellent. Room service menu was surprisingly good value with a decent snack for under a fiver.

Breakfast was fine. Reasonable choice and the cooked breakfast was hot and well presented. Slightly disappointed by the limited choice of fresh fruit, but I suppose it's difficult to please everyone. It's also worth being specific when ordering the cooked breakfast. It's seems that you will only get 1 egg 1 slice of bacon and 1 sausage if you don't ask for more.

Paid extra for a room with sea view on top floor which was clean and spacious. However sound proofing from room below was so poor that I could work out what TV channel the guests in the room below were watching. Not a problem if you have your own TV on, but could be annoying if you were needing total peace and quiet.

Overall this is a good hotel and I would definitely stay here again.

Just returned from a fabulous Ladies weekend here. The hotel is spotlessly clean everywhere, the rooms were bright and airy, and the food was excellent, both breakfast and the evening meals. Their chef created the most amazing choux desert in the shape of two swans! Breakfast was served at the table, and was top quality. But what really made it so good were the staff; from reception to bar staff, waiting staff to maid service, everyone was courteous and polite, yet smiling and friendly. So refreshing to see people apparently enjoying their jobs. Special mention to the lady with short red hair behind the bar on Saturday night, you did a great job. Reasonable drink prices too, nice not to feel ripped off. One of the few hotels I would go back to without doubt.

We live in Eastbourne and were asked by a close elderly friend if we could recommend a hotel for a short stay.We have used the Langham for meals and drinks on many occasions and so had no hesitation in her using this hotel for her stay,We picked her up from the station and took her to the hotel where she was greeted with great friendliness and courtesy. We joined her that evening for dinner and she was so complimentary about her room and the friendliness of all the staff especially the owner Neil who really made her feel special. On the second day she was joined by some of her family and they could not praise the hotel more highly and they are very seasoned travellers, they are all thinking of returning for another stay at the hotel;so please thank all the staff for their help and courtesy they gave our friends on their stay ,it is so good to know the good old British values still do exist;many thanks.

Our second visit as part of the southern vandyke reunion .. Wondered if we would find the same standards as last year ... OH YES .. This is a hotel that does not scrimp on staff and it shows .. It's like a wonderful walk back in time .. Breakfast is cooked for you and served to you ... No hot plate buffet style here .. Every member of staff I met were happy and helpful, yes they are still smiley !! We booked a sea view room it was extremely clean and comfortable. We enjoyed 2 dinner nights and food was great . Just to say thank you to Neil and his team and our John & Heidi for organising everything . LOVED IT !

My partner and I have just come back from a 2 night stay at this hotel. We had a warm welcome and throughout our stay the reception staff couldn't do more for us. Our sea view room was excellent which made it such a relaxing break. The dinner menu was very good, we had the fattest, tastiest bit of cod! Breakfast in the conservatory was lovely in the sun overlooking the beach- (the weather was very kind to us). We will be coming back here.

Spent the weekend at this hotel on a trip to Eastbourne. This is one of the most enjoyable breaks I've had in a while. The rooms were of a very high standard. The meals were first class and plentiful. All the staff, from the manager (Neil) down to the waiters / waitresses were very polite and could not do enough for you during the stay. They were very cheerful and seemed to be happy at their work. All in all a very pleasant stay and I will definately return next year.

Nine of us turned up for coffee and we were all impressed with the level of service, the reasonable prices, the freshly made cafetieres of coffee and the complimentary home made biscuits and flapjacks. We sat outside on the terrace in a relaxing and sunny spot. It was all round a very pleasant experience with welcoming and helpful staff. I guess we will be returning to try out the lunches next!

One of the best hotels we have used, have stayed here 5 times, excellent food & service. more rooms have been upgraded each year. Value for money - difficult to beat. Also use it for masonic functions. Parking arrangement in use at weekends

Me and my boyfriend stayed there over Valentines weekend. It was our second Valentines at the Langham so we knew it was going to be good. Even though the hotel was very busy the staff took very good care of us from the moment we arrived. We only booked standard double room but were upgraded to deluxe one! It wasn't facing the sea but the room was very nice and clean with huge bath, we got bottled water and biscuits every day which was nice little detail. Dinner and dance on Saturday was superb, great meal, good atmosphere, everyone seemed to have a good time. We stayed in many hotels all over England but we look forward coming back to Langham. Many thanks to all the staff and management for making our Valentines day so special. God bless you.

We stayed here for the 2nd time for the valentines dinner and dance. The 1st visit was so good that this time we bought my sister and husband with us. We were very disappointed with our room as it was very shabby with very outdated furniture, very small bed with a thin brown blanket, a wall heater that didn't work properly. Shower door didn't close fully and was very small cubicle, towel rail only just warm so cold bathroom, light over shaving mirror didn't work and crack in centre floor tile. My husband wanted to complain on arrival, but as we were there with my family for the dinner I didn't want to spoil the evening. Although we had a good we had a good evening, I didn't think it was up to last years standards. We were also disappointed with the breakfast it was small. Having heard that they had been upgraded to a 4 star, it was even more disappointing.

Used the function suite for a family party. Staff could not have been better, very attentive at all times. All who came commented how good the food was & how helpful staff were. Stayed overnight in a seaview room. Room was excellent. Breakfast excellent. Also a few family members stayed for Sunday lunch, again food and service excellent. Would definately recommend to anyone looking for a hotel to stay and/or have a party.

Took my Mum on a return visit to this hotel, last visit June 2012. Booked same room as really loved the room and was a little worried that the second time wouldn't be as good as the first. No need to have worried. This was a special birthday trip for Mum's 90th birthday. Our sons had spoke to reception earlier in the week and arranged for flowers to be in the room. The flowers were stunning, huge bouquet - well arranged and left on the table in the bay window for instant effect. All the staff were so thoughtful and a happy atmosphere throughout the hotel made for a memorable stay. We used the room service twice and were not disappointed - the food was lovely and well presented. Breakfast was served in the little conservatory at the front of the hotel - we especially appreciated that it was served until 10am and even then we never felt rushed to leave. Mum would have stayed 'forever'. The room was on the front and we had a super view of the promenade, pier and sea. It was very clean, comfortable and we had an ensuite walk in shower room. Perfect - a big thank you to the staff.

We upgraded to a sea view which was very nice. Room was good but not as big as I expected having stayed at a similar hotel along from this one but still spacious.. Having said that the bed and furnishings were very good and the bathroom a good size. Breakfast was good as was the service and staff. All very helpful. Parking spaces across the road with a modest fee.
We also used the restaurant on three occasions and were very pleased with the quality and service.

Was able to access subtitles on the TV in the room, very important if you have a hearing problem, good internet connection.

My Husband & I stayed at The Langham Hotel recently..... this place is a gem! The staff were very helpful and went beyond their duties to make our stay enjoyable. The location is fantastic right on the seafront (great for a bit of storm-watching!). We enjoyed a lovely meal in the Conservatory restaurant which would compete with most hotels we've stayed in to be honest! Our room was well appointed, very clean, comfortable with a lovely sea view, everything you'd expect from a 4 star hotel and more. We wouldn't hesitate to return and hope we do soon.

Most reviews we do try to look at the positives, not easy here. We booked a night here as it came out quite well from numerous reviews. However, what we found was a very small room with a bed & furniture that was well past its use by date. The curtains didn't close properly, the towels provided were tiny & thin & the bathroom only had a small, ineffective shower (no bath) on which the door didn't close properly. The bedroom windows couldn't be opened & the heating was an archaic heater fixed to the wall - the room was either very hot & stuffy or cold. The bathroom was simply cold with no heating.

Breakfast was, at best ok. We couldn't remember the last time we stayed at a hotel where the cereal, very limited fruit & fruit juice(long life), in fact everything was ordered from a menu, which clearly reduced access & flexibility (eg one of us didn't want cereal but would have liked an additional glass of juice) - thus resulting in a limited choice.

It was quite disappointing.

We were in Eastbourne to see a show, the weather was terrible, however the staff and the excellent atmosphere in this hotel made you forget the outside conditions.
Staying at this hotel is a must, the staff are absolutely fantastic, helpful and always ready to assist in any way. The bar food and the breakfast excellent, at breakfast the staff were very attentive and the service was without a doubt Unparalleled.
The rooms are of a very high standard in cleanliness, and comfort.
Without a doubt a well organised and outstanding hotel which we will be staying at again.

I holidayed in Eastbourne and live in New Zealand. My friends took me to the Langham on several occasions for lunch and sometimes we would just drop in for tea and a flapjack. This cost just two pounds 30 pence. It was lovely and we sat in comfy chairs in lovely surroundings. I loved all the memorabilia on the walls. I am looking forward to returning to this very welcoming hotel and found it such great value.

I have stayed here twice over the past month whilst working in the area and am so pleased we stayed here; restaurant exceeded expectations, reasonable wine list, friendly staff. Nothing seemed to much trouble, and my room was upgraded on arrival. On check in the man even went back out to my car to put the permit on the dashboard for me as the weather was abysmal! Would highly recommend!

My husband and I spent one night here at the end of January. Our stay was a pleasure. The staff were courteous and helpful. The sea-facing bedroom was clean and comfortable. The walk-in shower was helpful for me as am slightly disabled. The bar provided us with an excellent home-made vegetable soup for Sunday dinner, which was absolutely right for us. We had reserved a parking place behind the hotel, and this added to the convenience of our stay.
e would definitely recommend this hotel to a friend/relative.
