This restaurant has good and bad points. Good menu with lots of choice, with good gluten free options. Not the ideal location for a romantic meal as it gets very loud making it difficult to hear your fellow diner. Service is on the whole good, although we have fallen foul to the odd moody waiter, they need to remember at times that the customer is king, without us they wouldn't have a job!

We enjoyed a pre-show meal here. The staff were very friendly and attentive and even sang happy birthday to my wife, which made the meal even more special. The food was cooked well and the flavours great but some of the dishes seemed a little pricey and that is my only reason for not giving 5 stars. This restaurant has quite a lot of tables and I would imagine that it can get quite noisy later in the evening but we enjoyed the atmosphere. Next time we visit Eastbourne, we will return to the Pomodoro e Mozzarella.

Have been here now a couple of times as i live around the corner and have been happy with the food both times. I especially enjoyed the calzone and the pasta is pretty good to.Very reasonably priced for the quality of food you get. Looking forward to many more visits.

The food was tasty here and reasonable value. As a couple, however, a Friday evening was perhaps not the best choice. The harsh lighting does nothing to add to a relaxing or romantic evening and created an almost canteen atmosphere. Having several different members of staff interrupt our conversation to ask if everything was ok (sometimes just minutes after each other) showed a lack of communication. However, the staff were friendly and maybe as part of a group or at lunchtime I would have preferred the atmosphere.

Went with around 100 people on a business conference and have to say they handled it very well. Prompt with food and excellent quality.
Definitely go again when next down on business.

I visited here for lunch with friends, the pizza was great, as was I am told the pasta and calzone. The two or three course menu is good value for money. They also offer a gluten free menu for those who want it and plenty of veggie dishes. Wine good a nd fairly priced. Staff friendly and attentive.

We went in here on a Sunday lunchtime while we were on holiday in Eastbourne. The place was absolutely mobbed, but they still found us a table, even though I'm in a wheelchair. The set menu of two courses for under £11 or three for under £12 was obviously one of the reasons for its popularity, but the food must definitely be another. I had the lasagne and my partner had spaghetti: the portions were enormous, it was piping hot and stayed that way for ages, and was totally delicious.
This place is definitely a keeper, although next time I would make a reservation or go outside of main mealtimes.

This place is great and more informal than its slightly stuffy big brother La Locanda next door. Food is great (try the veal or the lamb!) wine is great and the people are really friendly. Worth going out of your way for - but ring to reserve a table - they get very busy!

Definitely a restaurant that has good food but is also at good value with the added good service so definitely will be back.

Still one of the best italian resturants in Eastbourne, the lunchtime menu is very good value and it is well cooked. Always very busy on the weekends which is a good sign.
Service was busy but we did get our meals quite quickly, food was served very hot and very well cooked. We will be back soon

Luca and his team run a very professional restaurant here in Eastbourne We must have been here over a dozen times and the food is always served with a smile and care. Saturday nights are packed and a set menu of £18 for 2 courses or £22 for three is good value. Wine is between £15 and £25 so something for most customers There are also lunch deals The right hand restaurant is called La Locanda del Duca and the left side is more for families and is the Pomodoro and Mozzarella and has many pizza and pasta dishes

A typical busy Italian place with typical range of Italian dishes. Friendly welcoming staff - if a bit forced. Service adequate - would not like to have gone there if it was very full. Could do with more staff. Safe and air value for money. Four stars is a generous rating.

We may have booked on a particularly busy evening however it was so busy that the staff were unable to be attentive and we literally had to call out any drinks we wanted as staff rushed by us! Our waiter apologised at the end of our meal (when the restaurant had quietened down) but unfortunately our experience of the place had already been a slightly negative one. The tables were also very close together and one side of our table was pushed up against walls which made it quite difficult for anyone sitting against the wall to manoeuvre. The food was ok but all in all the food didn't make up for the lack of service and space.

This was my second visit but the first for my companions. We booked for early supper before seeing the Russian State Ballet, and had a delicious meal in this friendly, family restaurant. It is properly authentic with a varied menu and good wine list. Very good service and excellent atmosphere. I thoroughly recommend this restaurant.

I've visited this restaurant a few times in the last six months and each time I left grinning with glee with a wonderful meal in my belly! The staff are exceptionally friendly and welcoming and never pushy or intrusive. The menu is extensive, perhaps too large, but there is certainly something for everyone. The pizzas are especially good, but the whole menu is produced with fresh ingredients bursting with flavour.
Highly recommended, surely the best Italian restaurant in Eastbourne!

If you can put up with the bright lights and rather garish blue and yellow decor then it is well worth it. The food is good wholesome typical italian restaurant style. Good place for larger bookings as they have plenty of large roomy tables.

We (14of us) went here for our belated Christmas party. Service was great, food delicious, staff very friendly. Everyone enjoyed their food, no one had anything to complain about.

Thank you to the staff for putting up with us.

Have been coming to this restaurant with partner, family and friends for many years now. We are always welcomed with a smile and a 'can do' positive attitude. It is a very friendly family run Italian eating place, all meals are freshly prepared to order and are full of flavour and varied; from the usual pizzas and pastas to meat and fish dishes accompanied by a variety of beautifully cooked vegetables served in a separate dish. The home made garlic bread is something many other restaurants can only aspire to. The mainly Italian staff are helpful and very friendly, they are wonderful with small grandchildren and equally wonderful when we dine a deux. The atmosphere and ambiance is always buzzing whether it is a weekday at 12 noon, a Saturday evening at 8.00 or a Sunday lunch.
Have recommended to friends whenever they happen to be in Eastbourne and would recommend to anyone else who wants a tasty, well cooked and good value meal.

This restaurant was suggested to us by friends who own several restaurants themselves. We gave it a try and were not disappointed. Everything was fantastic. Great staff who were very friendly and fun, a lively, buzzing restaurant with super ambiance. We had excellent attention from the staff and very fast service. Exceptionally good value with a menu of huge choice. We decided on the £11.70p three course menu and our starter was mixed salad. Superbly presented with ultra-fresh and plentiful salad. For mains we both chose the breaded chicken breast with spaghetti. What a wonderful dish. A piping hot, full plate of delicious food. Dessert for me was the Italian ice cream. Three huge scoops of different flavours with a fine wafer to finish it off. We had a jug of water as well as a glass of wine which was £3.95p each. This is unbelievable value. A superb evening with fantastic food delivered by fantastic staff. Thank you. This was a fabulous birthday treat with my wife. There is no Service Charge either so it's up to the customer. This is a really busy restaurant suitable for all ages. The staff sing Happy Birthday too! May be a good idea to book to make sure you get a table.

I cannot fault the food here but the waiters appear bored and uninterested, and the atmosphere rather clinical

The service was quick & efficient, it was the Saturday before Christmas so the restaurant was fairly busy. It did feel as though the staff would have liked us to order a little quicker and were quite eager to collect our plates but we just took our time. It may be different on a normal weekend. The food was well cooked and their was a good choice on the menu. We enjoyed our meal and the prices were reasonable.

I came here with 3 friends, a pre booked christmas meal which we thoughrily enjoyed. The staff were friendly and although it was a little noisy, it wasn't unbearable. Bearing in mind it was Christmas time and there was a lot of what seemed to be Christmas do's and a birthday.

This is a very clean and tidy eating place. The staff are helpful and friendly and the best part about it is THE FOOD. It isn't overly expensive either.
