This was our 2nd visit in the last 8 weeks. The food was as good as before. The aubergine starter is one to die for and the pizzas are the best we have tasted in the UK. The atmosphere is "buzzy" and the restaurant was again very full so good idea to book. Being regular visitors to Eastbourne this will always be number one for us.

Excellent genuine Italian food with large portions, enough to feed even the hungriest of folk. Friendly staff and good prices. Short walk from the Eastbourne seafront and town centre.

We hadn't booked and it was busy but we were seated without fuss. A special offer to celebrate the 10th anniversary meant they were offering Nero D'avola wine at £9.50 a bottle - bargain.
The chicken, broccoli and fontina cheese risott was delicious - I savoured every mouthful! The other half had a fillet steak. He was disappointed by its size when it arrived but once he tasted it said the quality was stunning. Good, efficient but not obtrusive service. The one down side was the noise. It was very busy but the acoustics made it difficult to talk at normal levels

We had a nice time at this restaurant and the food was good. We ate the 3 course menu at about £11. Minestrone very nice as was the bruschetta. Mains of spag bol very good, as were the wife's sardines (not from the fixed menu). Kids' portions very big! All food piping hot and service was no-fuss and friendly. Bottle of nice house red only £9 something!!!!
We visited on a tuesday evening about 7pm and no problem with getting a place. A nice thing about the restaurant is that although it is big, it is divided into 2 halves so they can generate a buzzing atmosphere even when only half full. I'm bound to say that everybody there seemed to be having a good time and it seems very popular. Deservedly so, IMHO.

We had not booked a table and although very busy they managed to fit us in. Menu was extensive, food was well cooked and presented and tasted great. A bustling atmosphere, reasonably priced with good service.

Very glad we went in! Looking for somewhere local to eat late one slightly dismal Thursday evening in October we were in 2 minds about going in. Paradoxically the menu looked too long and the blue and yellow interior not appealing that time of the year. Spotting gluten free options we thought it would be worth trying as they had clearly given thought to food and customer needs. Very glad we did. Excellent food, good ingredients, well cooked and unusually well presented. For example loin of lamb in Marsala and cream sauce was rich and flavoursome; sea bass in garlic, chilli and ginger was excellent - crisp skin, firm but moist fish and full flavours in the preparation complemented the fillets. Don't think fried, think olive oil/buttery sauce! I shall try pasta next time as previous reviews say it's freshly made.

We met up with friends whilst attending a Conference in Eastbourne. They had recommended that we dine here as they had used the restaurant for the last 10 + years. A very memorable evening. The place has a truly brilliant atmosphere and it was busy so you would be advised to book. Plenty of choice in terms of pizzas - superbly cooked, pastas and additional meat based dishes. We had the aubergine starter which you would die for! We visit Eastbourne around 6 times a year and will without doubt be booking here in the future. We have no hesitation in recommending.

Our first visit here and I agree with many of the previous comments. The menu is fairly standard Italian with wide range of pizzas and pasta dishes. The food is nicely presented, steaming hot and generous size portions. However the wine was pretty ordinary and not cheap for this kind of establishment. Service was friendly, brisk and professional. We were there in the late evening so there were plenty of spare tables but it apparently can get very busy at weekends and early evenings (for the theatre crowd) - so booking is recommended.

WE where out walking around Eastbourne keeping an eye out for somewhere to eat that night, when we where hit in the eye buy this brightly coloured building, you cannot miss it bright blue & yellow, inside the same colour, first thoughts we cannot eat in this place, but still looked at the menu, the 2 wifes have a Gluten alergy, but on reading the menu they listed gluten free pasta/pizza's and profiteroles, this sealed the discune on where we would eat that night.
I went in and asked if we needed to book, the helpful women said yes, she also confirmed that the gluten free pasta etc was made on the premises, after booking, she gave me a copy of there menu to take with us.When we turned up that night the place was packed, we were shown to a table, the service was efficient, the food was Excellent.
We went back 2 nights later and had another good meal. This is a good restaurant, and it makes a change to see a place making an effort to supply GLUTEN free food.

I have been to this restaurant many many times. the service is very good, a lovely friendly family restaurant. The food is standard Italian fare but the menu is quite extensive. Small glasses of wine though!
Good for families - perhaps not so much for couples (bit noisy for chatting!) as the atmosphere is more family orientated.

This restaurant has been established in Eastbourne for 10 years and has rightly earned its place as THE place to go for superb Italian food .
Luca and his late partner Vittorio quickly attracted a regular clientele and, apart from the cuisine, personality plays a large part in making the restaurant the success that it is. This also applies to the sister restaurant La Locanda del Duca two doors away. Both establishments are impeccably smart and it is a pleasure to dine in them , looked after by a superb staff.

I am a regular at Pomodoro e Mozzarella.I have to confess I always have the same thing because it is superb.I simply love the seafood spagetti,I ask for it to be cooked al dente with a liitle chillie and they always cook it specially for me.I know the pizza is excellent,as good as many pizzerias I have been to in Italy.I have never heard any one say they have had a bad meal here and it is very good value. The best Italian in Eastbourne.

Service was very quick which can to some extreme make you feel rushed, but food was very nice and hot. Drinks were expensive which needs to be taken into consideration a bottle of wine was at least £17.00

We have eaten many times at this restaurant as it is generally reliable and always has a lively atmosphere. it is popular with groups and families and can be quite noisy so not always easy to hear what people are saying. The pizzas are good and there are also numerous pasta dishes. The portions are decent so we never have tried the deserts! The set menu is very good value when it's available, the prices are quite a bit more at other times.

I eat here quite alot and also get takeaways as live locally. The food is always fresh and always good no matter when or how busy they are. Service good and food arrives quite quickly even though they are very busy most evenings
Can highly recommend if looking for a good quality and reasonably priced meal . Set 3 course menu around £11

Possibly the busiest & best value Italian Restaurant in Eastbourne!
Fantastic value for money with really good quality well cooked & served food. The Chefs here really know what they are doing!
The set menu is excellent value. The Staff are very attentive & the atmosphere is lively.
If you want a quieter restaurant then next door is La Locanda Del Duca which has the same owner, who divides his time between the two Restaurants.

As someone who travels for a living and therefore is constantly researching and searching out for great restaurants, this place is one of the best I've been to in the uk. The pizza and pasta (all made fresh on the premises) is as authentic and delicious as the best I've ever had in Italy. What's more they have a fantastic a la carte menu that rivals the best Italian restaurants for choice and above all quality. (try the fillet steak or the salmon or the monkfish in peppercorn sauce....!)
I try to go here whenever I'm in Eastbourne and over the last 10 years I have never once had anything less than 100% satisfaction. Everybody I ever take to this restaurant loves it.. All in all, in my opinion a fantastic family run restaurant, great service, great value and really really worth the extra 2 min walk from the station as opposed to visiting the 3 Italian chain restaurants in town
