A good fun Christmas show packed full of Christmas songs and cheer. Enjoyed by everyone of all ages in the audience. It's great use of this fine old theatre. Greatly recommended.

Having been put off doing the pantomime because of the price, this was the substitute for a Christmas show and was well priced at £40 for a family ticket (2 adults, 4yo & 5yo).

The show was good, a basic storyline with no frills and side effects to match but the cast clearly love doing their job/hobby.

Lots to keep the children entertained with the first half lasting one hour, a 15 minute break and then the second half lasts 45 mins. Two loud 'bangs' during the show made the kids (and us!) jump but otherwise, my kids loved it. My daughter especially loved the references and songs from Frozen. It was also a beautiful theatre with very friendly staff and I wouldn't think twice about returning.

Overall it was an entertaining feel good Christmas show for the whole family to enjoy. Maybe not as streamlined and professional as the pantomime on at Devonshire Park but our kids loved it nonetheless.... all topped off with my daughter having her photo taken with Princess Elsa at the end and my son high fiving Jack Frost.

Well done to all the cast and production crew, looking forward to coming back soon!!

On arrival my walking disability was immediately noticed and I was guided through a none step entrance... very impressed! There is also a clean disabled toilet.
Like some other reviewers I had not heard of this theatre but being a jazzer I saw the above band was playing there. Like so many old theatres they are a little sad but have great atmosphere and this was the case. Thoroughly enjoyed the set with some fantastic drumming by Nick Millward as usual, although I missed his party piece where he goes out amongst the audience.
Very disappointed in the numbers though (around 90) as both the band and theatre are worthy of more support

Youngster very talented, from Drama Schools, very Christmasy there were several very clever pieces, story line a bit weak but it was funny coulouful, some clever songs and in the end the whole
audience joined in singing Carols On a cold afternoon this
production lifted the gloom and gave a warm glow

We have been to Eastbourne hundreds of times and have passed this place probably just as many times or more.

We visited Mo Mambo last night before going to see Tenors Unlimited at the Royal Hippodrome, Eastbourne.

What a fantastic little place to visit, I pre-booked the tickets on-line and as soon I showed the lady at the door my barcode she took us directly to our seats. I knew what numbers they were and she took my word for it and seated us immediately.

Tenors Unlimited were fantastic and not something I would have thought about going to see but it was for a good cause and a bit of a spur of the moment kind of booking.

We were not disappointed and will be going to see them again when they are in our area next time they are here.

If you want to feel very festive this Christmas you must go along and see the production of Christmas cracker running Thursday afternoons and over Christmas 2014 Full of wonderful Christmas songs and a little bit of a new story for Christmas rather than the usual pantomime. Lovely dance routines and something for all the family, the little ones will want to be jack frosts friend whilst the slightly older ones will enjoy going back to watching the way Christmas used to be! Don't miss it!

Wow just wow.

The Christmas cracker show was just such fun.

Great fun story full of well versed Christmas songs to get everyone toe tapping and singing.

Perfectly chosen and exceptional actors to keep the fun moving at a great pace to keep young and old very entertained.

It is truly a great production.

Visited the Hippodrome for the first time at the weekend to see the excellent Stringfever. We were all blown away by how beautiful it is inside and how close you are to the performers. Apparently it's all run by volunteers and I take my hat of to them for the excellent work they do. Will definitely be looking out for more shows to see in this beautiful venue.

What a magnificent building, which when you consider it is run mainly by volunteers, is credit to them all.
We were collected from our hotel by a volunteer in his car and taken back. We were shown to our seats by a volunteer. We were served ice cream by a volunteer and bought our programme from a volunteer. The interior of the theatre is spectacular and is being brought up todate by donations.
We were made to feel very welcome and part of the evenings entertainment. The show itself was called Magic in the Music and I would give it 10 out of 10.
It was such a good evening that we even donated money (voluntarily) to keep the place going.
If you live in Eastbourne and have not been to a show then shame on you. When its gone you will regret it.

The theatre, which is manned by volunteers, retains an air of late victorian genteelity. Comfortable seats allow one to it and enjoy the shows in comfort. Parking in the area can be difficult but not impossible

Went to see Joe Brown, he was great as always.
The theatre is much more attractive on the inside compared to the outside. It could do with a little TLC.
However lovely atmosphere, comfy seats, leg room and friendly staff.
Overall a great experience.

We celebrated our 45th wedding anniversary by watching Joe Brown at the Hippodrome. The theartre is very small so it felt really intimate. We felt very in touch with all the old time acts that must have performed there in the past.It is a beautiful building inside, just ignore the exterior. We were shown to our seat by a lovely lady. The toilets were very clean. We didn't use the bar so cannot comment on it, nor did we buy an ice cream but they were available should we have wanted one.We had a lovely evening and do hope to return soon.

Have visited this theatre twice now and both performances were excellent, well staged with good accoustics. Quite small theatre with a fairly basic bar but very friendly.

what a distinctive theatre I loved every second even the dusty smell added to the atmosphere I half expected Shakespeare himself to come on stage

The show was a pro-am production and was well performed by everyone. A good comedy/magician provided the links.
The theatre is a community project supported by local businesses and appears to be staffed by volunteers. They are trying to renovate and improve the place with limited funds. I wish them well in their endeavours.
If you are down that way go to a show there and lend them your support.

It was good to know that any profits were going to RNLI. I understand that most of the tasks are carried out by volunteers.

I cannot believe I have lived in Eastbourne for 46 years and never visited this theatre before last Saturday. A friend and I went to see a Portrait of Matt Monroe...when entering the theatre we were straight away asked what our seats were and shown which door to go through where we were greeted by another usher who showed us to our actual seats and then pointed out where the bar and the toilets were. We thoroughly enjoyed the show which was a mix of friendly banter and our favourite Matt Monroe songs and a delicious ice cream at half time. The staff are all volunteers who obviously love helping out and the venue is charming and the acoustics were good...we are already deciding what we are going to see there next.
