We come here a lot for lunch as the food is excellent. We particularly enjoy the curries. Having travelled extensively in Thailand, I think the food is very authentic and some of the best I've tasted! They're also happy to cater to vegans.

We are here and had a set meal, the staff were very helpful in their recommendations and we thoroughly enjoyed the meal. We definitely would recommend this restaurant.

Only eaten here once, but the food was fine and good value. The sticky rice was most certainly sticky!

We spent a night in a nearby guesthouse and this was one of the recommendations of the proprietor. We were made very welcome and the staff were helpful with items on the menu. We had a really good meal and a bottle of wine at a reasonable price. The food was delicious and the general ambiance of the restaurant was excellent. Everyone seemed welcome - including small children. The place was packed and very busy but that did not detract from the brilliant and friendly service we received.

Always visit here when in Eastbourne. The restaurant is always busy no matter what day you go. Service can be slow at times but that's part of it's charm. Highly recommend.

We arrived at 9:00 on a Tuesday night thinking we would do take away but decided to stay and were seated within minutes. We had a rather simple, quick dinner for 3. One of us is gluten, dairy and soy free - he had sweet and sour chicken, pad thai and rice and was very happy. We also had a delicious duck dish that while not noted on the menu, had soy and gluten. Ambiance - small but warm. We sat by the big window, which was nice.

After an enjoyable day at the Airbourne Eastbourne Airshow on Sunday we decided to eat in Eastbourne before heading home. Having had a really enjoyable dinner at Sabaidee Thai in Jan 2016 it was time for an overdue return. A quick call to make sure that they had a table available given the crowds in Eastbourne for the Airshow, and by 6.30 p.m. we were seated and reading the excellent menu. The greeting we received was very friendly and although the restaurant was busy the atmosphere remained unrushed.
My wife chose a mussel dish for starter and she rated it the best mussel starter she has ever had. Our main courses were steamed Bass and battered Bass, and both were excellent. All the time the staff were attentive and very friendly without being pushy. I have just read a couple of less complimentary reviews on here and have to say that our experience was the exact opposite. We had excellent service, excellent food and the prices were very fair for the quality of the dining experience.I recommend Sabadai Thai without hesitation.

Went mid week with my other half. Surprised that the place was so busy. Quickly found a table and drinks arrived. Food was tasty and there was a good vegetarian selection.
Can't quite put my finger on it but found the service questionable. No real issues, just not the warm, friendly staff I have had in other Thai restaurants.
Might have just been one of those things, would definitely return and recommend.

Enjoyed this restaurant as much as I did when in Eastbourne last year. I recommend the set menus which are great value for money.

The only thing I could say about this place was that the service was good but the food was very average

On our first visit it was great to see not a single spare seat in the house, so glad we booked in advance. Really relaxed and unhurried. Despite being so busy staff were super attentive. The food was amazing and very generous portion sizes. Atmosphere very happy and comfortable. The food was very good value for money and the best quality. Nothing I did not like at all about my experience and will be heading back A.S.A.P

We went here on a Monday at about quarter to 6pm and found one other table was occupied. We were quickly greeted by a very friendly lady and shown to a table for two.
Another family came in as we were looking at the menus.
We decided not to have any starters but regretted not getting the prawn crackers as other diners all had them and they looked great, there were two different types in the big bowl.
We ordered an orange duck with cashews which was lightly battered and delicious. It had crispy fried noodles underneath. There could have been a few more cashews for my liking as I love them.
Hubby had a steak which came in slices with lots of lovely vegetables underneath and a separate spicy sauce, which I loved and put on my coconut rice as I didn't find it had much flavour!
Hubby had an orange juice and I had a cocktail - a mai tai, which was really tasty and very pretty.
For dessert I had Thai custard which came with some whipped cream and vanilla ice-cream. The custard was interesting, a bit like a square slice of cake but not sweet enough for me, I've got a very sweet tooth! The cream and ice-cream with it were lovely and I did enjoy the dessert as I do like to try different things.
Hubby had a ferro roche ice cream which he found too hard at first and asked them to microwave it as he was getting brain freeze! He loved the taste of it and found a whole frozen sweet in there!
I had a tia maria liquer coffee with my dessert but I couldn't taste the tia maria at all but the coffee was really nice.
Hubby also had a bottle of Harrogate sparkling spring water which was ice cold and really lovely.
I've put photos of everything we had.
We look forward to coming here again. Our bill came to about £60 altogether.

A little dark in the restaurant, but a pleasant greeting.

Some interesting Asian ephemera adorns the walls.

Reasonably attentive staff, given the number of people there, and tasty Thai food.

We really enjoyed our meal which was delicious and fresh. The menu is diverse with a good wine list. My only criticism is that the tables are a little too close together and you do feel as though you are dining with strangers.

Lovely meal, quick service and pleasant staff. Pad Thai and chicken satay was delicious with good size portions. Stir fry chicken with holy basil and chilli was good, but could do with a bit more spicy heat.

Overall good visit and will try again

The food was very authentic, good value and great portion size. If Thailand is the land of smiles this must be the restaurant of smiles. Great service and will be returning if we are in Eastbourne again .

A group of us go to Eastbourne every year and we always try to have a meal at Sabaidee. Lovely atmosphere, great service and an extensive menu. As with most Thai restaurants, the presentation of the food is amazing.

We've eaten here a few times now and have never been disappointed. Last time we had spare ribs and duck, both delicious. And their service is quick, efficient and courteous. Suggest you book in advance as their table quickly fill at popular times.

Before going into the tennis at Devonshire Park, we always quickly book a table at Sabaidee for one night as it is frequented by both players, officials and fans. Both last year and this, we have been sitting by one of the leading players - which all adds to the lovely 'tennis' atmosphere of the Tournament week.
The service is excellent and you don't have to wait too long for your first dishes, even though the restaurant is always full and very bustling. This year we had vegetable tempura to start, a crispy duck dish, a steak dish and wonderful, if very spicy, papaya salad to accompany. I thought the food was particularly good this year. In the past we have tried many of the usual Thai starters, a fiery soup and various mains. We have always enjoyed our evening there.

A couple of us, two old gents living locally, come to this delightful little restaurant regularly, It's absolutely first-class. We've been through the menu from top to bottom, side to side, and we've never had a meal which has disappointed us. My chum and I have eaten in various parts of the world and this is one of those rare places which we find a joy to visit time after time.

We had to wait for a table due to the popularity of this restaurant. We had an hour in which to order and hopefully enjoy. No problem we both enjoyed our starters (shared) and mains (not shared). The duck was exquisite succulent tasty and with roasted cashew nuts a delight for duck fanatics. Service excellent prices reasonable wine the only average element but no excessively prices. Overall good.

We found this by accident as it is located on a side street a stone's throw away from our hotel (The View). We hadn't booked a table but the waiter found us somewhere to sit (it was Thursday - I would say definitely book for a Friday or Saturday - go on, do it now). It was lovely inside, nice décor and the very attentive waiters/waitresses wore traditional style dress. The food was great and there was lots to choose from. Don't be put off by the location/exterior, I nearly didn't go in but am so glad we did. If you are looking for a quiet romantic meal, you'd be hard pressed to find somewhere better in Eastbourne.
