From the end of the walkway on the seafront carry on across the shingle and keep to the left parrallel with the new houses. This brings you to a footpath that leads to the Locks and the Marina. When you reach the locks you can either go across the locks keeping to the right of the gatehouse and follow the path past the flats back to the seafront which offers a footpath near to pevensey bay. The alternative is to follow the path around the lock not crossing over the locks and walk around the marina which leads onto shops, cafe's and a Harvester restaurant. Nice for a pleasant stroll but some parts are not wheel chair friendly.

The marina is still a working boatyard and blends this activity well with shops, cafes and restaurants. Boats were being transported about the site during our visit, and using the locks - both interesting activities to watch. The shopping area was not too busy and comfortable to wander round and a meal at one of the waterside cafes in the sunshine, was very pleasant. Owning a flat, boat and a BMW here must cost a small fortune - nice for some, but the rest of us have to settle for a coffee and a visit to TK Maxx!

When visiting Eastbourne on many occasions I've stopped by the sovereign harbour. There are numerous resturants to choose from. Family ones, romantic dining for couples. Cafés. Experience eating on the harbour side watching the boats coming in. Or just having a cocktail soaking up the sun on a good day. Whatever you go there for, sovereign harbour is a lovely relaxing place to visit. You'll have a fun day.

Had a great morning shopping at TK Max and then lunch at a wonderful organic coffee shop, followed by scones and cream. I even came away with a jar of ginger preserve and an ornate glass lamp from the coffee shop!

Often walk down to the marina with the children. They love watching the boats go through the lock gates, and hunting for jelly fish. Window shop in the shops, and sample the food delights....Harvester as you would expect, enjoyed chips from the chippy and also had lunch at one of the other eateries. Close by to the Crumbles retail park too, with cinema, so plenty for everyone to enjoy.

Sovereign Harbour is a great place to visit. The marina gives you a great place to go for a walk after choosing one of the 5+ restaurant's. If you are still not done then a small walk around the corner is the beach and also a shopping outlet. Free Parking

Having been to Eastbourne on a number of occasions its strange that we have never been to the marina before. We did this time and enjoyed it. Watching the bridge over the road go up and down allowing the boats to go in and out of the harbour, walking round the head to the redoubt Fortress was very pleasant. At least it wasn't raining and the sun was just out

Architecturally this place is a mess approaching as we did from the outer harbour it seemed thrown together a hitch pitch of different styles and colour schemes. When we entered the shopping area it improved slightly. The whole experience was not worth the hike from Eastbourne.

Soverign harbour is a lovely place to visit, has a retail park followed by the harbour it's self. The harbour is lovely to walk around and you can even go on a boat tour which is very cheap, your talking about £2. There is plenty of restaurants to choose from and they all do really nice food.
