Is this the only shopping centre in the uk that is bucking the trend of shops closing while people are buying from the internet? The Beacon is the old Arndale Centre, which has recently been massively expanded with many trendy new shops opening. The Eastbourne town centre is also having a huge makeover and, when finished, will be a fabulous place to shop, to dine, or just to visit. Put Eastbourne town Centre on your bucket list!

It is freezing walking through the new extension, no wonder Holland and Barrett have got there shutters down on there side entrance. Will be nice in the summer but certainly won't be in a rush to go there in the winter again. Think it will put Christmas shoppers off.

Still under development of Phase 2 but it's looking good. For a small town shopping centre it's got most things you are looking for. Sadly the toilets being closed for refurb is not a great idea. The extra parking above is going to be useful as parking in Eastbourne is an issue. Some of the shops here are very good, like the new Wilco which has great value and good quality goods.
