Great weekend on a 2 nights for 1 offer run by the hotel to celebrate a birthday. helped by scorching weather a few weeks back. Top service particularly- 'their training just be very good' my wife thought.
Can't be faulted. Great outdoor pool. Very good food and wine (including a favourite, Musar)

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Grand, Eastbourne and appreciated the very high standards. All the staff were professional, smartly dressed and offering assistance without being asked! The food was delicious; no wonder it was so busy! It was only a few guests who let the place down by wearing

Having been advised that the supply of champagne glasses and ice to my room would cost £5 when my party had a booking for 7 room nights and 7 for dinner in the Mirabelle I concluded that I would not return

We arrived in heavy rain - and there was an accompanied umbrella, immediately! A wonderful building, excellently staffed. The Mirabelle restaurant was superb in every way. Just a very happy and fulfilling short stay. This was a 'bargain leisure break' advertised in The Daily Telegraph, which will encourage us to try a few more, but we feel that our experience at the Grand will be a very hard act to follow.

We decided to treat ourselves for one night whilst visiting friends in the area. We wanted an accessible room for my disabled husband and his electric wheelchair. The only rooms with a walk in shower were Suites at £320-450 a night. Not in our price range! We wanted a Deluxe Double but the rooms were too small. Our only choice was an Executive Double at £260 with no accessible shower and an entrance so tight it took skill to reach the bedroom. With over 100 rooms why make it so difficult & expensive for a disabled guest to stay. It is an old building and renovation is underway commencing with the Suites but it wouldn't be too difficult to remove a few baths & add low level showers in the less expensive rooms.

Lunch here was like stepping back in time, the service was superb and all the staff went the extra mile. It really was as good as my recent visit to the Ritz, gentle , elegant and the food was excellant too !
I admired the doormans poppy pin and he insisted on gifting it to me ! The sun was shinning as we walked along the prom and we made a mental note to return for a short break in the future. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

The service and food was excellent. We could not fault the staff for attention who made our stay very relaxing. Our room was rather dingy but very comfortable, would go for an upgrade next time. A excellent short break, thank you.

Another great weekend with friends. Swam in the wonderfully warm outside pool, despite the chilly weather and then went inside to the jacuzzi. Breakfast amazing, enough to keep you going all day. Very comfortable hotel with very good spa facilities and with the beach right on the doorstep, Lots to do in Eastbourne right on the doorstep of the hotel. Very helpful and friendly staff. Will definitely be back.

Fantastic hotel in a beautiful location. The food is excellent. The staff are friendly and helpful. For us - visiting The Grand is an elegant treat. We always come away feeling very relaxed. If you want an escape from the hurly burly of the outside world - then this is the place for you!

Had my wedding at the Grand, it was very well organised by the hotels events team. Everything ran to clockwork, the food was beautiful and presented with style. Had a meal with friends the night before which was lovely. We stayed for two nights and could not fault the rooms, all the family stayed and everyone loved there rooms, our room was lovely with a sea view and was huge could almost think I could like here.

The surroundings are as you’d expect are lovely, it shows it’s old world grace and charm still clearly has a place and easily out does these modern boutique type hotels.

If your looking for a venue for a wedding or just a weekend away easy choice the Grand hotel. Also it’s dog friendly.

For my husbands Birthday Weekend, I decided to get away from the surroundings of Kent to visit The Grand and Eastbourne. It was my second time visiting the hotel, the previous one over two years ago (time does fly). I booked a Master Suite and also treatments, dinner in the Mirabelle Restaurant and also we ended up eating on our second night at The Garden Restaurant. We also used the Leisure Facilities as well. So a total immersion of The Grand was had!
Firstly, it is the staff that makes this "Grand". And what busy bee's they are. I never saw one member of staff standing still. From the doormen to Housekeeping, from the Bar Mixoligist to the Breakfast Waiting staff - everyone had a purpose and executed it to a standard that did not make you feel like you were intruding or that your money was no better than anyone elses. The Savoy, London might want to learn from this.
Hotel Room - perfect and worked for us - see attached. Housekeeping was great, apart from the request for extra biscuits resulted in only one extra packet (OK, I am pig) turndown was a proper turndown, not just take the bedspread off your bed.
Treatments were certainly on par with the ones I have every couple of weeks at Clarins, however this is one area that they need to invest some TLC in. Dated in decor and a new couch might be worth opening the cheque book for. But still does the job.
Dinner at the Mirabelle was lovely. It was small and intimate without being pretentious. Had the 7 course tasting menu and was a delight - souffle could do with revisiting in cooking time though - but first world problem and certainly did not spoilt the evening in any shape.
Breakfast was plentiful and well executed. Loved the idea of seating children all in one area, and not all through out the restaurant. I don't have children and there is a reason - I don't want too. So to be able to sit in an area without hearing the screams was great. Dinner in the Garden Restaurant was on par food and service quality, but it is the execution and amount that differed. The Garden will fill you more, but the Mirabelle will provide a theatre. Make your choice, and I feel you won't be disappointed in either.
The building is a fabulous and wonderful old traditional seaside hotel. Expect the decor and furniture to match. If you want modern and furniture that blends and without the odd mark, or one that has no history of previous visits, then, there is a Premier Inn that is better suited to you. If you want to just enjoy a historical and a hotel that has had plenty of life experience, but has been exceptionally well maintained, this is one for you. Coupled with service that we found was more personal and professional than The Savoy in London.

Well Done to you all at the Grand, Eastbourne. You should be proud of what you do and your place of work. But please don't drop the ball now.... you are only as good as your last visit.

Fantastic stay at this traditional 5 star hotel. A wonderful up-grade, great food and faultless service in all areas. Cannot recommend highly enough. Has to be one of the UK's best.
The hotel is so elegant and yet cosy and modern. Comfortable beds and every personal request acceeded to. Worth booking aparking place in advance ( 25.00). We drove straight into our named space.

I found my stay very enjoyable. the staff were professional friendly polite and helpful.
They went above and beyond to ensure the visitors received what they desired. The hotel was immaculate. They even let Dogs stay which is ok as long as they don't disturb other guest which happened to me. They were very apologetic

A weekend in a suite organised by my partner for my birthday. Thanks to the hotel staff for making it fun.

I just spent the previous night at the le meridian in London. This was infinitely better. From Check in which was swift and prepared to the spa massage to relax me. Drinks in the bar. Dinner in the French restaurant on Friday night. I can't recommend highly enough. Good food...
Tasting menu. Excellent wine.

More spa the next day followed by shopping and beach walks. The pier is always fun.

Dinner at the main restaurant started badly but quickly rectified. Things go wrong. What matters is how they are put tight.

Will be back with friends.

Good Hotel in a Good location, Rooms are quiet old and loads of creaking noise. Could improve on these points. Also could have kept few more complements like 1-2 extra water bottles. Also could have kept few vegetarian options.

Had a 3 day break here, very luxurious - certainly not my normal
Venue. Found the staff lovely,
Very helpful and friendly. Beautiful building, nice spa ( although didn't
have treatments). I found the food very good, had the tasting menu one night in the Mirabelle Restaurant. Delicious! My mum, who's an accomplished cook was
More impressed with some dishes than others. Our suite was over all extremely comfortable, let down perhaps by a few oversights - wrong remote control for the TV, no minibar, very dim bedside lights. Etc.

Large hotel. Nice location near the seaside. Nice reception and staff. Breakfast is solid.
2 swimming pool (outside - heated) and inside.
Hotel is not new but comfortable. Many places to sit and relax. No any problems or bad impressions during my staying. May be the smell of the old carpets was a bit annoying sometimes. Recommended.

We popped in with friends for an after dinner drink - this is the Grand Dame of Eastbourne, restored to her full glory and she looked beautiful lit up at night. The lounge space was warm and welcoming, staff relaxed and friendly. The drinks are pricey, but they were excellently mixed and the atmosphere was great.

Very good hotel, with excellent location by the sea. Friendly and helpful staff at reception. The quality of the food was also excellent. There is a small gym, which has good range of equipment, and friendly staff willing to show you how to use it properly. Their is an indoor and outdoor pool, both heated; the indoor was quite busy during our stay, the outdoor has a great location, with the sun there most of the day.

We spent one night here in mid April and luckily the weather was fantastic. The service her was top drawer. We had afternoon tea which was delicious and a spa facial which was also very good. We made use of all the spa facilities which may not be the best in the world but were adequate. The room was clean and comfortable and the cocktails extortionate but delicious as was the breakfast. The building itself was magnificent. We loved our stay and would come again.

My friend treated me to Champagne Afternoon Tea which we enjoyed yesterday in the front lounge, once settled in another couple arrived and sat on table next to us, well after they arrived our experience wasn’t one we were expecting, firstly she started to shout at the gentleman she was with, next came the insults to fellow guests including myself which I found amusing to start with but then we became uneasy and had to complain, nothing was done and we didn’t want to move to cause more commotion, she is known to the hotel but it’s no excuse for us to sit and listen to her be so rude and only spent £10 where as my friend spent considerable more and felt it spoilt our special celebration, will think twice before coming here again if this is the sort of clientele we have to endure, luckily food and service was excellent so you have redeemed yourselves a little!

Ideal for total relaxation as everything is taken at a leisurely pace. Very attentive and prompt response to unexpected situations, eg forgetting to bring suitcase padlock key. Slow speed of arrival of breakfast was the only criticism.

My wife and I walked the South Downs Way from Winchester to Eastbourne and wanted to finish our 110 mile trek in style by staying at the Grand Hotel. We were not disappointed; the hotel exuded a stylish and sumptuous ambience, everything was of the highest order and the staff were helpful at every level.
