A perfect place to spend Christmas. An excellent programme and all the staff were friendly and welcoming. Everything was well organised in a quiet. and efficient way. We felt happy and relaxed throughout ourstay.

Excellent food in the Mirabelle restaurant. We had the taster menu which the chef adapted to our taste, all served with an excellent choice of wines.
Breakfast in the Garden restaurant not to the same high standard and the seating is far too cramped.

Well this was an unexpected fabulous afternoon. I reserved a table for 2 some months before as I wanted to experience afternoon tea at The Grand during the festive period. Gosh the surroundings were superb, a large roaring fire that had a huge decorated Christmas tree either side of it. The eating area was towards the back of the hotel, a section of the long hall way had been sectioned off for this purpose but it actually worked really well. There was a selection of chairs and sofas with coffee tables dotted around so you had the feeling of being in a lounge. It's all very intimate and cosy. We were taken to our reserved table immediately and offered teas and coffees and asked if we had any special dietary requirements. Your waitress will pour your first cup for you then you are free to pour your own as and when you are ready. I was able to get a good 3 cups out of mine. Enough time is allowed to pass for you to enjoy your drinks and surroundings and then the High tea was brought out to us. We had a selection of crustless sandwiches which were all delicious, followed by warm scones with jam, cream and /or butter. The final tier of the stand had numerous cakes all of which were fabulous. You can ask for a take away box to take away anything you are not able to finish. I have to say the service here was absolutely superb. The waiters and waitresses are very attentive without being intrusive. I will definitely being doing this again. You can buy vouchers for this experience. We parked in the onsite car park which was very useful. There was plenty of spaces.

Can’t revommend enough, first class hotel, loved the luxury and would stay again. The little touches like wine and a birthday card from the management was very thoughtful and I felt quite special.
The pool and hot tub was very clean and lovely and warm. I didn’t use the gym but it looked very impressive.

Overall average, lovely staff let down by poor organisation and little attention to detail . The size of this hotel would make you think its world class but in reality it’s some way from that
Welcome & arrival excellent. Service at breakfast very slow and coffee was lukewarm and eggs and haddock overdone. Coffee and burnt toast arrived some time after being seated.
Ate afternoon tea - ok but not exceptional in comparison to London hotels.Needed a bit more pizazz

Ate in the 2 rosette restaurant - service ok but not helped by errors on the bill ( quite large errors). Food rather average for the price and in comparison to similar restaurants.

Staff in general seemed to be operating in their own bubble with little interaction with colleagues and no one apparently overseeing service standards. Staff quite quick to refuse a seating change or very defensive when information given at the time of booking clearly had not been passed on

Very good hotel with lots of character and class. Very good food at a very reasonable price and excellent service.
Rooms would benefit with double glazing and an upgrade to the bathrooms, beds were very comfortable and room had lots of storage.

Memorable stay. Luxurious. Very festive and beautiful great hall. Service at dinner was excellent. Food tasty and portion size reasonable. 3 courses were value for money.
Would love to stay again in the new year.

Hi I visited the grand for afternoon tea with my wife at the weekend for our annual afternoon tea. The only difference this year was that we were now vegan. But this changed nothing; the service and food were impeccable, with nothing being too much trouble. Thanks for a lovely afternoon

We had a lovely stay at The Grand, everything was impeccable and the service was wonderful.
My only gripe is that one of the cocktails is named after Margaret Thatcher, while another is "perfect for the ladies".

We enjoyed a very comfortable stay in the penthouse suite apart from there being no fridge. The staff are excellent - very courteous and friendly. The food is lovely! We would recommend the grand for a real treat.

The “Grand” is a very well run hotel. The staff are very professional & courteous, the location is superb. We are frequent guests & recommend it highly. Compliments to the General Manager, who runs a tight ship!

Stayed in a suite for one night over the weekend. The room was great. Clean, well maintained and spacious. The service from staff was very good and helpful. We also had dinner in the Mirabelle restaurant in the hotel which was an excellent experience - Good food, great service, excellent wines plus atmospheric live piano music.

I love everything about this hotel
Grand by name, Grand by Service, Food, accommodation. I won’t stay anywhere else in Eastbourne :)
I’m sure there are other good hotels in Eastbourne, but the Grand is definitely the best in every way!!!

This hotel is like visiting a favourite relative. Welcoming, willing to spoil your rotten, friendly and the level of service is second to none.

We have stayed here twice in an executive sea view room on both occasions. The rooms are first class, the service is excellent and the staff are very friendly and helpful. We would highly recommend The Grand.

We enjoyed our stay. However, we found the bathroom rather tired, as are the leisure facilities. Staff friendly and helpful.
Food was good, not amazing, and a very limited choice. Only the Mirabelle restaurant was open. An elegant hotel but a little tired in places.

A wonderful two night stay with really friendly, helpful staff and gorgeous food. We thoroughly enjoyed the lovely health spa facilities and treatments. The location is perfect for walking along the seafront or to wander to the nearby shops. Looking forward to another stay short stay in February to celebrate my Mum's birthday.

This hotel is of a quality that many aspire to but cannot achieve because they don’t have the history and tradition to fall back on. It will not be to everyones taste because of this but it is unfair to fault a place just because it does things the way it always has. It can feel a little formal when it is after all a holiday destination but that apart, a great place to relax with friendly, professional, attentive staff.

Our room and bathroom were excellent as was the service by all members of staff. The food was excellent. However we did find the mattresses extremely soft. We were in a suite with disabled bathroom on the ground floor. The weather was very inclement for the first two days of our stay which we were told was the reason we had no reception on the television. We were offered a room on a higher floor on which we were told the TVs were not affected. As there were no rooms with disabled facilities we were not able to accept the offer to move rooms. Even on our third day when the weather was sunny and calm, there were still problems with the tv.
