I can not fault the staff at The Grand and on arrival my wife was greeted with a birthday card, lovely touch. We were shown to our room with the guy telling us info on the way really made us feel at home straight away. The dinner and treatment brilliant too. The hotel amazing with a lovely fire and big trees.
My only problem was the room, personally I was really disappointed when we went in the lights didn't work but door guy plugged in and sorted. wardrobe door wouldn't open or shut probably, bathroom window would also not close probably and was freezing in there all the time trying to be positive because of the wife's special weekend, toilet seat would not stay up no good for the boys. Friday night was our first night and music so loud we didn't sleep till 1ish, followed by heating or pump noises. I did suggest asking to move but wife really didn't want to pack all up and move, plus she just want no upset this weekend. This isn't to say all rooms are like this and if not for the special weekend I would of asked to move and feel they would of helped.

Stayed overnight at the hotel while attending a Christmas party. Was with a group of friends and we had a great time. We needed to amend our booking to add another person to our room and the process was made very easy and we were very happy with the size of room for 3 people. We are booking for next year again.

We received a warm welcome on this return visit. We particularly enjoyed the Mirabelle restaurant and enjoyed the Club Elite facilities and look forward to a return visit in March 2018. There is nothing more that we need to say

We enjoyed our stay @ The Grand Hotel this December as we did the last two times we have stayed this year. We will see you again in the New Year. Our room was side sea view which was very nice.
Lovely food & service, excellent staff always willing to help.

We first stayed at the Grand Eastbourne at the end of the summer for just one night & we we're quite impressed by the hotel.
We have just spent a weekend there & were not disappointed by our choice. The service is excellent but "not hovering". We dinned in both restaurants & both had very good menus, something for all tastes.
Breakfast can be buffet service or waiter served, as I am disabled we chose the latter. Again an excellent choice of food & my poached eggs were perfect both days.
Our room was very comfortable & had walk in shower with rails which made every thing very easy for me.
We did not manage to fit in a visit to the spa & pool this time, but have booked another stay in January for my birthday & hopefully will fit the spa in then.
I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone.

I cannot fault The Grand in Eastbourne. Such an amazing stay, as always, staff are fantastic, room was beautiful, the whole atmosphere is relaxing and beautiful. Perfectly positioned for the sea, and the fantastic restaurants in Eastbourne close by.

We went there with my partner to spend a night. The place is amazing and luxurious. The staff is really friendly and helpful. There is two restaurants in the hotel. We went to the "mirabelle" to have dinner. The food was absolutely amazing and the service was perfect. Unfortunately we were really disappointed about our room. It was really small, old fashioned, really cold and it was absolutely not what we were expecting from a 5 stars hotel. Anyway we spent a really nice journey in that place and we would definitely recommend it!

We had a lovely stay at the a Grand. We had afternoon tea by the fire when we arrived which was ideal after a journey! The room was comfortable with plush linen and luxury toiletries. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. There was a good choice for breakfast the following morning with attentive staff.

We visited here Feb 17, spa weekend, lovely communal rooms, very grand! but rooms let the whole experience down, they were dated and felt like I bathed in my grandmothers bathroom. Ate in the Garden Restaurant which was lovely, piano playing, very elegant, but would of rather gone home to be fair

A lovely hotel to arrive at with parking just outside. The room (deluxe) was of generous size with plenty of room. The bathroom was nice with an over the bath shower - which was very powerful. Molton Brown provided, always nice. The bed was comfortable, although my friend was woken at 6 by the seagulls, so maybe not good if you’re a light sleeper!
We used the spa facilities - a swimming pool (only indoor available in Dec, fairly small but nice enough), a jacuzzi, a steam room and a sauna. All quite small and only 8 sun loungers available which were always full or with towels on. Therefore not really the most relaxing place - we just used the facilities and left... all looked like it could do with an update though as poolside shower was a bit grubby.
We had a cocktail in the downstairs bar, which was delicious (mojito) but very expensive at almost £16!! Breakfast was nice with a buffet provided - hot and cold. All nice, with eggs freshly made if you so wish. Only surprise was the cooked breakfast being a buffet, we expected more.
The lift is also worth mentioning. Only two, and only one of which goes to the spa. Very old and a bit rickety - not in keeping with the grandeur they’re aiming for.
It’s a lovely hotel, but it’s getting a bit outdated - so money needs to be spent. Not sure we’d return.
Great location though - opposite the beach and 10 minute walk to the centre.

Excellent, attentive service from all the staff.
Comfortable room.
Good food.
Great location.
Arrived frazzled and left completely refreshed.
The hotel is "old school" but is not intimidating.
It achieves a perfect balance between the formal and the informal and this creates an extremely relaxing atmosphere.

I reserved a room at the cost of £187.
It was small and dark with no sufficient light at night.
The furniture was shabby but the service in the hotel is ok.
It's all a bit overrated and it's more like a giant old people's home instead of an hotel in my humble opinion.
Never again despite the nice view.

I stayed here on business the last week of November, it was late by the time I arrived so didn’t use the bar or restaurant, however I found my stay very pleasant. Rooms were a decent size with everything you would need. Breakfast was great. The only thing I would say that some areas could do with a bit of tlc, nothing major though.

Arrived for just the one night and made to feel a welcome guest from our arrival in the car park to our departure , helpful polite warm friendly staff who were attentive without being intrusive . Made use of the very nice spa facilities and enjoyed a lovely English breakfast on the morning of our departure , room immaculate . If you are looking for cheap and cheerful or working to a budget then it's probably not for you ... If you are looking for old school service and values at a fair price then treat yourself. We Will definitely recommend visit ...

Check in was good along with spa. Rooms poor bed sagging one side and a dripping noise in the water pipe didn’t get much sleep. Drinks over priced, louse entertainment and the breakfast just tasted oil and greasy not pleasant. Feedback was left with reception when booking out

Everything was just about prefect at the hotel & spa. Every member of staff was friendly, helpful and most importantly good at their job. Food & drink excellent (though not remotely cheap of course). Will definitely return.
Also highly recommended to walk part of the south downs way, past Beachy Head to Birling gap. Turn right there up to East Dean - get a bus back to Eastbourne - fantastic 3 - 4 mile walk (with some steep climbs).

Cannot rate this hotel highly enough. Top-class service from check-in to check-out from warm, friendly & very professional staff. We had a wonderful room overlooking the sea, enjoyed the gorgeous food in The Garden Restaurant, made full use of the gym & leisure facilities & treated ourselves to a massage.

Sort of place you can take off your shoes and relax. Not clinical like other places. Fantastic staff. Bit dated but who cares. Bath is too small for rumpy pumpy! They are stingy with the tea and milk in the rooms. Your Need binoculars to see the telly.

Overall, between poor to average stay due to cleanliness, rooms and sleep quality. The service at breakfast and quality of food was exceptional. Except for the french waiter, impatiently waiting for me to pick my salmon with a fork.

We had a very relaxing two night stay. We enjoyed a delicious meal in the Mirabelle restaurant and the service was excellent and friendly, a real treat. I also enjoyed a pre-dinner Singapore Sling cocktail which was expensive but excellent. We were pleased that we had chosen the Grand for our anniversary treat.

I stayed at the hotel for three nights and expected it to be good ... it exceeded my expectations. The welcome when I arrived was warm and inviting and the room exceedingly comfortable. There was a bottle of water (complimentary) in the room (and refreshed twice a day) as well as a Nespresso machine and a tea pot and biscuits. The bathroom had the amenities I needed (and sufficient towels and a robe) and was spacious. It was as good as it gets, especially at an older, classic hotel.

The hotel has a Health Club that is available to guests. Again, it had what I needed for my daily workout and to my surprise was not crowded. It appears the pool is used much more than the exercise equipment. There is also a sauna and a steam bath. I wasn't expecting all of that and took advantage of the facilities. They are well-maintained and the staff most helpful in providing an orientation and assistance.

All in all, I had an excellent stay. I had the same warm reception at the front desk when I checked out as when I arrived. I can't imagine trying someplace else when this was so attentive and "perfect" for my needs. I'd return in a flash!

I indicated that the hotel is "mid-range" in price -- when I checked prices I explored options and found a rate that was exceedingly reasonable -- on par with some of the better B&Bs and boutique hotels ... don't be put of by the name or the association with Small Luxury Hotels.

An excellent hotel with excellent service. Very enjoyable meals which were well served. The indoor health centre was clean, well managed and very necessary for some exercise. Would like to return in the summer to try the outdoor pool. Yes, a quality hotel but some prices in the lounge / bar seemed a bit too high.
