If The Grand Hotel Eastbourne was in the English Premier League it would always finish in the top four and qualify for Europe. Wonderful facilities, great teamwork from the staff and superb hospitality in terms of accommodation and dining. The manager and team at The Grand Eastbourne ensure that guests enjoy a warm and inclusive atmosphere. The property is in an excellent state of repair too which enhances the special feeling generated for guests. Well done to the manager and team..

Very covid safe. Breakfast was delicious. Comfy beds, beautiful room. Just a really lovely stay and friendly helpful staff.

Asked for extra water one evening (as one bottle isn’t enough for me) it was brought up to the room, and the next day they had remembered & automatically provided extra… it’s the little details that really make a lot of difference :)

Due to Covid this was the first time away from home for over a year. We decided we needed to be pampered and so chose the Grand. We were not disappointed. We were well looked after and made to feel very comfortable and safe. The staff are excellent ans so friendly, courteous and helpful. Our room was very comfortable and the food was excellent.

Having chosen to stay at The Grand we thought and expected to have all our needs catered for. Its has a great atmosphre and history about the building but although it is a very old building it could do with some updating, for example. My wife is a full time wheelchair used and cannot stand without help, this is why we had the only room with wetroom in the hotel, expecting the wetroom to be to a high standard of adaption sadly it was not. A glass patition blocked the access to the shower area, no drop down seat or grab rails, the rails fitted were for people that could stand although a seat was supplied it had no handles for my wife to use, the controls/taps were six feet away from the shower seating area, no shelves or somewhere for the wheelchair user to place soap etc. In the bedroom area the only electrical sockets we could use were at skirting level which made it imposible for my wife to use them.
The room its self was next to the cocktail bar and has a very thin wall between the two rooms and as a result of this turned out to be one of the noisiest room we have ever stayed in with staff walking around on solid uncarpeted floors we could here every step the staff made until early hours of the morning, we could also hear very cocktial being mixed and most conversations. I,m sure there must have been many complaints about this from previous guests. Everything else about the hotel is excelent, the staff cannot do enough for you and the food and drink also excelent. With a great location with access to the seafront and town is good. I know the age of these buildings is used as the reason adaptions have not been made but we have stayed in many old hotels where it has be done, and I suspect quite easily. Shame The Grand is not up the standards of addaptions other older hotels in Eastbourne.
A little more thought and effort needed for disabled rooms by The Grand.

We have just returned from a nights stay celebrating a postponed wedding anniversary. We have stayed at the Grand several time before. Its very traditional with silver service etc but definitely not stuffy. The staff are very friendly and courteous. We are Seniors and the bulk of the people staying there midweek were in the the same demographic. Saying that some quests were younger with children. The food in the Garden restaurant was good and the accommodation comfortable. We live locally but the position near the sea front is excellent for access to the sea/beach and Beachy Head etc. The town centre is about 20mins walk. A very pleasant stay, we will return and heartily recommend others to visit.

Our first trip to The Grand for our Wedding Anniversary. I didn't even wait to finish our break to write this. From the minute you pull up at the door you are greeted by luxury, old fashioned customer service and a fabulous hotel. My favourite new place. The staff are all pleasant, friendly and helpful. Cocktails amazing. Breakfast outstanding . So much much better than buffet style. Afternoon Tea later today.

This Hotel is second to none. Always perfect with service and facilities. You get what you pay for and although more expensive that others in this location it is very well spent money. Location is ideal, you can walk into the town and also to Devonshire Park and the Theatres close by.

A fabulous, traditional, classic English hospitality experience executed with panache from attentive and focused staff. Food quality was superb from the Mirabelle Restaurant and equally impressive from the house restaurant. Afternoon Tea was also memorable.

Not sure if I would go back to Eastbourne as the area seemed to be very much catered for the elderly, but the hotel in itself was excellent. Service and food were exquisite and the spa facilities were well equipped and very clean.

Hotel is beautiful, staff very friendly. Breakfast was perfect. Rooms slightly outdated as they needed modern features such as a fridge and A/C in the room. Sauna and steam room was closed which was a shame.

This was my 3rd visit. This hotel has an old world charm but that is what makes it a unique experience.I always feel that it has been a real treat.
Great Service. Do not expect a bland modern room as suite slightly shabby but lovely. Do go!

We always enjoy visiting the Grand Hotel with its friendly atmosphere, classic style and sea views. One small criticism on this occasion is that the bed was a standard double rather than "king size" to which we are accustomed.

The bed was too soft, the deluxe room tired, the restrictions about swimming in the outdoor pool were ridiculous and the menu if you are on a dinner bed and breakfast package you are not clear about the hidden costs of ordering something on the menu that is not included in your package. We spent £600 on a so called deluxe room and dinner bed and breakfast. The best experience was the Spa where I had a fantastic treatment but other than that I could not recommend it for a luxury night away.

We never tire of visiting The Grand. We are probably rather less affluent than the average guest, and the cost is far from inconsequential to us, but we never resent a penny of it. It never ceases to amaze us how many of the staff seem to remember us and welcome us back. Service is relentlessly perfect, the rooms we have stayed in are huge and luxurious, the restaurants are magnificent and the interior public spaces are immensely impressive. We look forward to our next visit from the moment we drive away.

The service is impeccable, the food is excellent and the hotel is luxurious.
It is well worth getting a sea view room.
In the Mirabelle Restaurant there is a seven course taster menu with accompanying wines, which is delicious.

Stayed on Saturday 26/06/2021 and ordered Linguine Burrata with black truffle... It was devoid of truffle!!! Not one delicious woody shaving could I detect. I mentioned it to the waiter who was very nice and asked the chef... ‘Seasonal’ that was the answer!!! I didn’t realise that when the menu advertises a Linguine Burrata with black truffle, the second most expensive main on the menu it really means Linguine, depending on whether they can get truffle or not 😁... Live and learn... The chefs answer did make me smile though, Basil Fawltyish!!! I will endeavour to bring my very own truffle sniffing piglet next time I stay just to be sure... Go find them Pepper... 😉
