Room described as land view, no visible land just an enclosed space consisting of drainage and sewage pipes. Description very misleading. For not a lot more could have booked room with an actual land view. Ancient TV with handkerchief size screen. Otherwise no complaints.

Fabulous stay in a welcoming Hotel, fantastic position, just the job for a January get away to celebrate a birthday, the dog stayed in the room and was provided with a bed and food for the weekend, the restaurant provided a good breakfast and a lovely evening meal

A really lovely hotel with great facilities. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and the hotel itself is beautiful. One of our group were upgraded because their booking couldn't be located immediately and that was a lovely touch

A very good hotel. The staff were friendly and the service was excellent. Highly recommend a stay at this hotel. We visited Seven Sisters whilst here and stayed for one night. The room was very warm and nice touches throughout. Good silver service breakfast.

We had a lovely weekend stay at the grand to attend a family occasion.
The staff were so attentive and friendly we really felt that we had been really well looked after.
We were lucky enough to have a suite and it was very clean and well appointed and made us feel like we were staying somewhere really grand.
Our only slightly negative comment would be that the drinks in the bar were just about the most expensive we have experienced anywhere but again the staff were very helpful and attentive.

I attended a luncheon to celebrate a cousin's Golden Wedding. The occasion was beautifully laid on. Delicious food, served with style and in lovely surroundings. I would highly recommend The Grand Hotel, Eastbourne for a similar gathering.

Family weekend away. From the minute we arrived, the concierge took our luggage, staff very attentive. Saturday lunch most enjoyable, the afternoon tea, the pool facilities was thoroughly enjoyable. Supper was great and a great venue for the weekend.

Spent a few days here as we had some Hyatt loyalty points to use up. A chance to get to know this beautiful hotel, it's like stepping back in time to a era that most places have forgotten. The elegance of the entrance and the very smiley, helpful staff made our arrival a pleasure. The upgrade from Deluxe to Executive room was a lovely extra and the room itself was wonderful. Unfortunately we booked too late to book into the spa as it was fully booked. Breakfast surpassed itself with plenty of choice both cold and hot. Wandering around the hotel all we can say is we're glad we made the effort! Well done The Grand.

Not the best afternoon tea that I’ve experienced. A group of 9 of us went for a 92nd Birthday.

No birthday cake presented which I thought was pretty poor despite this being noted on bookings.

Cakes were of good standard however I would question the quantity for a group of 9....we were all fighting over specifics!

We’re only offered one refill of tea!

This hotel never disappoints! I have been coming here annually with friends for 5 years and I swear every year it gets better. The food in the restaurant is incredible and the staff cannot do enough for you. The room are superb with spacious interiors and all the amenities needed.
I'll be continuing to return annually and recommend anyone coming to Eastbourne to stay here too!

From the moment you arrive and your car is parked for you, you know you are going to be looked after very well. The staff are very attentive and hardworking. We enjoyed breakfasts and an evening meal in the Garden Restaurant where the food quality is excellent. We were really impressed with the facilities in the gym ,pool and spa, The hotel lives up to its 5 stars and we will return in June for another stay.

Wonderful traditional hotel with warm welcoming staff, a comfortable bed and great breakfast.
The bar served a great gin and tonic and I loved the kippers for breakfast.

I felt looked after and quite spoilt

This hotel offers a wonderful experience. The staff are very friendly and attentive. The room was lovely and characterful. It was spacious, warm and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent. This is not a modern standard experience but rather one where the highest expectations of old fashioned high quality catering are fulfilled.

Stayed 1 night for business, good parking, staff very welcoming, food and drink was very nice. Nice clean room with all facilities in room available, bed was turned down at night, I would use again when visiting the area, good value for money.

Overall the hotel was great and staff were very polite and courteous. Our room was clean and furnished the old way which depicted the age of the hotel.Value for money I would say is a bit on the expensive side but as it was a special occasion for my partner and we were only unfortunately there for a day I did not mind paying your rate.

A totally enjoyable stay. Spotless and relaxing environment. Staff go out of their way to look after you and make you feel comfortable. We drifted from meal to meal with beach walks and spa visits in between and had an absolutely wonderful time.

The service and cleanliness cannot be faulted and the location makes for a relaxing few days away. Normally the room we had been given has been fine although, as repeat customers, we have noticed that the rooms we have been given in successive years have been smaller and this year in particular the room layout was badly thought out.

From the moment you arrive, you are treated like a queen (or king). The staff are friendly and very helpful. The way that the hotel was decorated for Christmas was homely and warm.

We used the pool a lot. It wasn’t huge but it didn’t need to be. Very relaxing. The treatments offered at the spa were varied.

The food was delicious.

I really cannot wait to go back again.

An amazing hotel, really beautiful and service was impeccable.
Only disappointment was the lack of spa treatments available (even booking prior to arrival), so I would recommend booking any treatments as early as possible.

The staff are lovely in this grand hotel that needs alot of love . The breakfast made it feel like 1970 tired choices , cheap bread , powdered eggs , really awful & not 5 star . The showers in the spa contain cracked dispensers & the whole hotel needs refurnishing . But the beds are lovely , location is good . Next time I would bring my own food or eat out

Reception and door staff very friendly and efficient. Deluxe Room (146) was larger than expected, but bathroom was dated, with chipped/worn floor tiles. Decor (e.g. carpets) in some public areas needed attention. Room was at back of hotel, with lovely view of South Downs. Staff were very dog-friendly and he loved his big goody bag. He liked the bed they provided too. Shame dogs are not allowed in public areas. Most dog-friendly hotels (e.g. Hydro in Eastbourne) allow dogs in designated areas where drinks and some food can be served.
Our package included dinner in The Mirabelle (see separate review). Food was good, but evening was let down by very poor service in Restaurant and Lounges: disappointing.
New Year's Day brunch included large and varied buffet. However, some food had gone cold.
Could have been so much better.
