After a strenuous family Christmas, this hotel is certainly the place to relax and the walks locally are incomparable. On the occasions we have visited this hotel, we have immediately noticed the peace and quiet which is one o the reasons we return.

Great stay even got a lovely bag of goodies for my gorgeous dog who stayed with us ... that was a lovely touch
The staff were very friendly and attentive
Hallway to room was unfinished and signs to room on floor ...
for the price slightly shoddy arrival to room
Otherwise everything else ok 👍

From arrival to departure we were made to feel very special, the food and the entertainment were fantastic and we had a very enjoyable time. we would recommend this to anyone else who would like to see the New Year in style.

Excellent except the vegetarian dishes this year sometimes below standard of previous years.
The parking spaces were scarce but the door staff immediately found one for us.
The live music in the lounge (Shelley van Loen Palm Quartet has performed for the queen.

Great hotel and service from start to finish of our stay, started right from when we drove in and someone came out immediately to find us a parking space. We were there for the New Year's eve dinner dance which we thoroughly enjoyed. Food, music and service all excellent. Hope to return in future.

You get what you play for and this we did. This is unusual these days and we were well satisfied.
One moan. To be offered a second glass of champagne before going into dinner on New Years Eve would not have come amiss

We enjoyed our stay all staff we very attentive our room was serviced very well the only downer was the room was a lot smaller this year than we usual have. the food was great although the evening meal on the 30th December was served very fast 3 courses within 1 hour we had to insist the desert served alot later. also a mixup in wine order resolved in the end, but on the whole a great stay

The staff were so kind and helpful when we visited last week with my two disabled sisters (both in wheelchairs). We enjoyed a light lunch together in a very peaceful bar/lounge area. Access was very easy and facilities excellent. We all enjoyed our food. Proper leaf tea in a silver teapot was great.

Reviewed as being a 5* Hotel. Stayed over the weekend and I to the week. Staff friendly and helpful, service over the weekend when busy and more staff in good. During the week, our experience was don't expect what you order to arrive quickly, but you can expect quality. Car parking limited. Two small swimming pools, clean and pleasant, but if your a swimmer you are likely to be disappointed. If you want to dip and lounge around, they are great. Breakfast is help yourself buffet and cooked to order. Breakfast has a good range and quality. Like most hotels though, when you have eggs cooked to order, don't expect runny yokes in poached or friends eggs from the chef. Nibbles provided with a glass of wine were good - mixed nuts, olives and crisps. Ordered hot chocolate, really good but served warm not hot and had to send it back to be re-heated. All in all a good hotel and recommended but as a 5* hotel not quite.

Amazing hotel from outside and inside. It looks like a royal palace and the personal it was so attentive. The rooms quite clean, spacious and comfortable.
The Spa was clean and so beautiful. The tub didn't have many bubbles but it was pleasant.
The included breakfast was delicious. Good quality products and good coffee. The downsize is that I was charged £3 extra for a latte coffee which is a bit ridiculous but apart of that all perfect 👌

Such a nice hotel. I come here every year and they never fail to disappoint. Breakfast is lush and the pastries are just amazing. The pools are absolutely amazing. I 100% recommend to anyone who wants to visit Eastbourne. It is also so close to the beach and the high street.

For this area of Eastbourne it's a pretty decent Hotel. It's clear that money has been spent on the entrance lobby to give a good first impression and I hope that there's more money available to be spent on bringing all of the rooms up to the standard that you would expect from a hotel that purports to be of this quality.
Room was nicely furnished and quite comfortable although some of the Furnishings did look the worse for wear but overall quite happy with the night I spent. I didn't eat in the restaurant but reviews seem to have it as being pretty decent. Staff friendly and helpful but parking can be difficult.

Breakfast at The Grand Hotel was a real treat! The food was really fresh and tasty. Actual honeycomb available too. I have never seen that at that at any Hotel.
Only drawback was the service. They were rather slow. I had booked a table, but had to wait for it to be made ready. The plates were not cleared away, we had to put them on a free table after waiting for the servers to clear them
Tea, coffee and toast were really slow to be bought out. We had had our cereals and went to get our hot breakfast before they were bought to the table.
My father-in-law had worked at the Hotel as a bar manager for 31 years and when I made the booking, I made them aware it was his Birthday treat and he was a former employee, but no extra effort was made for him. Rather disappointed by the service received.

I would class it just acceptable. This is grand looking hotel from the outside and the communal spaces are in good shape, but the rooms are dated. We had a group of us staying the night and had booked for dinner in the garden room. The dinner was reasonable but again lacked any real appeal.
The one good thing is that the staff are extremely helpful and very accomodating.

Went on a girlie weekend with 4 of my friends and upon arrival we were treated exceptionally well by the concierge and receptionist. Our rooms were not ready yet, as we arrived quite early so we were able to leave our bags and go for a long stroll along the beach and upon our return we had a massage and good use of the spa suite. The breakfast is buffett style or table service and the selection on offer was quite good. Would highly recommend the Grand for a weekend away.

Beautiful hotel if a little tired, impeccably clean and the service we received throughout our stay was excellent. However, the food let's this hotel down considerably, not sure how it can maintain its 5*. The presentation of the food looks good but there is no taste very bland, the breakfast was fine but nothing more than a regular chain 3 to 4* hotel. We also took afternoon tea, very mediocre, for the slight extra price you pay in 5* London hotels this was way below par. Such a shame, we had a lovely stay but would not return for this reason.

Staff were very happy and respectful, also had afternoon tea, which was it's only let down
All the sweets were different so we had to cut them and share as we didn't want the other person to miss out.
One other thing was the indoor pool area, I know they are limited on space but there were not enough beds or chairs or hooks to but towel on.

A place to stay for a special celebration . The staff are very professional, accommodating and friendly. The food in the restaurant was fabulous. Plenty of choice for vegetarians . We had a lovely sea view room. It was very clean and plenty of space. This was our second visit and I am sure will not be our last.

Stayed for 2 nights and what a great place to stay.
Staff were friendly and very helpful they couldn't do enough for you.
Room was spacious and very comfortable with coffee and tea making facilities.
Bed very comfortable slept like a log.
Food in the Garden Restaurant was excellent.
I know it was a 5 star hotel but the prices in the bar were expensive.
Overall I would recommend anybody to stay here for a very relaxing time.

Had a spa day with a great friend. Fantastic treatment, gorgeous food and unlimited tea! Really friendly and helpful staff. Great experience but could do with decor/changing rooms being updated as they're a little tired. Treatment rooms very modern and a stark contrast. Best thing is there's limited pjone service so my kids couldn't mither me!! 😂

The Grand Hotel is a lovely and old style hotel. It is kept in good condition and has delicious breakfast. I went there to watch Eastbourne air show and they gave us a room with a balcony so we could see all the planes. It has a very nice heated indoor and outdoor pool along with a jacuzzi, gym, steam room, sauna and lots of other facilities.
If you like hotels that are made too include vintage style things like tall ceilings, red carpet and four poster beds then I would definitely recommend this for a holiday.

Absolutely stunning hotel with friendly welcoming staff, incredible food and outstanding service. We couldn't have been made to feel more welcome. Karen, Katrina, Barbara, Ricardo and all the staff were a pleasure to meet and made the stay for us. Thank you x The Mirabelle restaurant really was fantastic with the most incredible tasting menu and the Maitre'd and staff were also very friendly and helpful.
