Recently attended a family babyshower party at The Grand. The private room we were in was absolutely beautiful and very smart. The party was only around 20 people but the room could have easily taken 50 or more. The waiting staff were very polite and attentive, offering a light lunch buffet as well as a afternoon tea style service.

Everyone felt very comfortable and relaxed which is exactly what you need for an event like that. Children in attendance were also catered for and although the waiting staff were attentive they didnt get in the way or prevent everyone from feeling relaxed.

Thank you to the team there, they did a fantastic job.

The room itself was very bright with huge windows running alongside one wall, a small stereo/blutooth speaker was provided for us to play our own music as well.

Set within such a great hotel, the event had a real grand feeling!

A very pleasant and enjoyable return to this hotel. From the initial booking to departure the management and staff were extremely helpful. Overall service was excellent. Our Dutch relatives we're particularly impressed by the dining room and the high standard of breakfast buffet. Will definitely come again.

My wife and I wanted to celebrate a special wedding anniversary in style. We decided to spend a night at the Grand Hotel, Eastbourne. This was a one off and based on its reputation we looked forward to enjoying the experience. It was very good. Our room was spacious although the bathroom was rather small and annoying. Manouevering around for two people wasn't easy. The hotel is obviously old, very traditional and not the most comfortable. However, the general ambience is very relaxing and is probably more attractive to clientele of a certain age. The staff are very polite, happy and helpful and they are the main strenght of the hotel.

I don't know how this hotel does it but every stay is utterly special! Nothing is too much trouble and the staff could not be more attentive and helpful. I love the care a disabled driver gets from the car parking team - takes away all worries about parking, luggage and "just needing a hand". Thanks guys!!

Venue is great, polite staff, good breakfast, room is comfortable and clean.

But very loud bangs/noises from doors all morning.

Housekeeping disturbed our do not disturb sign.

Spa was nice, lead up to outdoor pool could be improved.

Thoroughly recommend a stay at any time of the year. Good for walks on the promenade for all the family. The restaurants are great and there is lots to do and see in the neighbouring areas. Or just rest in the rooms!

Really impressive place. Huge. True trad luxury. Haven't explored Eastbourne before and thoroughly enjoyed the weekend. Great breakfast, outdoor pool to ourselves, pleasant spa. Snooker. Posh restaurants. Towner Art gallery, Beachy Head, Little Italy, and a grey foreboding October sea.

Perfect weekend getaway, staff very friendly and helpful and great location on the seafront. Food in the restaurant was excellent and breakfast was first class with plenty of choice in the buffet or full breakfast menu to chose from the kitchen.

Stayed here on my 50th and what a lovely surprise my wife had booked for us.

Totally luxurious and full of splendour with the style from a time gone by.

Excellent staff and friendly service from the doorman to the chambermaids. Highly recommended and relaxed hotel.

We decided to return after our honeymoon last year. It just seems to get better, if that is possible!! On arrival, we were upgraded to one of the best rooms in the hotel, with the perfect view. Add on, the complimentary cocktails and an anniversary card in our room..this was a lovely touch! The staff are so attentive and lovely. We will return next year.

Booked the fabulous Grand Hotel Eastbourne for my Husband and I to celebrate his birthday in style.
On arrival we we decided to have Brunch in the lounge, as we were really early 11.30am.
I ordered a fish goujons sandwich which was gorgeous and a burger for hubby. Both meals were fabulous, huge portions and tasty.

Our room wasn't ready until 3pm, we were allocated Room218, which was down a 'work in progress' corridor.
The room left much to be desired, the smallest double bed there is, no heating, freezing cold and a lot of issues!

But all was corrected the next morning before 8am, when I rang through to reception to register my many misgivings.

All was rectified even before speaking to the duty manager by a very courteous Emma on reception... She dealt with the whole situation professionally there and then, no arguments and we were moved to another room later.

Without much ado, apologies and a lovely new room, we were very happy.
Our next room was amazing, a large 6 foot twin bed, and lots of light and space.
A huge improvement.
Thank you to Emma and duty manager James Pierce also for sorting out our problems.

The Food:
We ate dinner in the Garden Restaurant both nights.
The menus were varied with wonderful choices.
We decided to have the set dinner menu 2/3 courses.
All the food was sublime, it was everything we wanted it to be.
Lovely Lamb carved at our table, gorgeous vegetables! Perfect!

Breakfast was hot, fresh, replenished frequently, lovely buffet. It had Absolutely everything..... Very appetising unlike many buffets. Loved this. Recommend!
The first morning we ordered from the menu, Haddock and 2 poached eggs.
Ate from the buffet the 2nd morning. Gorgeous!

Thanks to all the staff for looking after us on this Birthday trip, as they have previously on our celebratory stays over many years.

Had a lovely return stay at the hotel. As ever the staff really made our trip. Universally welcoming and warm.

We very much enjoyed the outdoor pool and swam every day. Its heated so even on a cold day it's a delight. The indoor leisure facilities are also good.

All the meals we had were great. In particular the Mirabell and having breakfast in our suite.

Lastly the rooms are variable but all charming. Decide what you value. We went for a bigger lounge and smaller balcony but with great views. Was perfect.

We will be back.

We travel extensively with our small, immaculately behaved cocker spaniel and therefore always look for dog friendly hotels. On its website, The Grand accepts dogs in certain rooms ( excellent) but what it doesn’t say is that they are not allowed in any other areas at all. We never expect to take our dog into main restaurants, but to not even be able to have a drink in the bar? Come on The Grand - either change your policy or make it absolutely clear on your website that dogs are not allowed in any public areas. That aside, the hotel was comfortable and breakfast was excellent. Travelling without the dog, we would return.

Fantastic stay at the Grand, the staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was lovely but as I have trouble with my hands I did find flushing the toilet quite difficult with the cistern they have.

The swimming pool and jacuzzi really good for my health but struggled with the tables in the beauty parlour

Over all a brilliant stay and will return...

The hotel was very tired. Our room which was side sea facing deluxe and fairly expensive was small, tired, no air conditioning, no mini bar and fairly basic. We were very disappointed. The cooked breakfast was average although it was small in size and had probably been kept hot for a while.

My Husband and I, together with my Son and Daughter-in-law had a night’s stay and had a fantastic time throughout our visit. The staff were all very welcoming. We had a superb meal in the Mirabelle Restaurant and the Pianist made my Birthday Celebration perfect! The room was very comfortable and we will certainly go back. The location is ideal .

We have stayed at many hotels in our time but I must say I will remember this one for the very friendly and helpful staff, the hotel and staff made us feel very relaxed and looked after, which as we were celebrating my husband retirement after 48 years it was just what we wanted.

The hotel made our weekend. It was my partners 50th so we decided on q couple of nights away local to us. Staff were great and room was lovely. Cocktails were quite pricey, although admittedly very good!...

We visited the Grand this time as we wanted to return to the hotel for my birthday celebration. We were so impressed with our previous visit that we chose to visit for this celebration. We were not disappointed our visit was as lovely as we hoped it would be.

Fantastic location, room was lovely with a sea view. The bed was very small certainly not a King size bed. Lovely Molton Brown toiletries in the bathroom. Plenty of choice for breakfast. Drinks very expensive £15 for a Courvosier ! This was a treat from my parents as I would not normally pay this amount for one night. Staff very polite but certainly let down by price of drinks.
