I stayed at the Grand Hotel Eastbourne for the weekend. When I arrived the staff recognized me and called me my name even though I had not been back since June.

All the staff that I met were all so helpful and friendly. When I say that I am of course including the staff that we do not see without whom the Hotel would not run so smoothly. Special mention should be made for the lovely Emily and Olivia. Message to management look after them they are good.

I had room 235 which was nice and spacious. The Hotels WiFi was good down on the ground floor, but I just could not get any signal in the room.

I will be going back down to the Grand Hotel Eastbourne again in a few weeks.

Charming surroundings with an older feel. Things are antique and it's like stepping back in time but with 21st century luxuries. It's all about the service, 5 star your whole stay which I've never experienced anywhere else.

The grand entrance and appearance of this beautiful hotel was very disappointing in our experience. Yes, everything was clean and the breakfast we ate was delicious but I thought we had booked a deluxe double room which had two single beds pushed together! It was also above the hotels delivery entrance so no need for a 6:30 a.m alarm. We may have been able to go back to sleep had it not been for the workmen on the building directly opposite our room starting at 8 a.m.
I realise this is not the hotels fault but I’m sure in this huge building and off peak season we could have had a more quiet room.

Excellent location, friendly and welcoming staff all round. The bed was very comfortable and there is a lovely touch with Molton Brown toiletries in the bathroom. Food is very well presented and the meal we had was delicious.

Eastbourne is the end of the South Downs Way and we chose this hotel to be a memorable end point -it did not disappoint -all the staff were unfailingly courteous (despite our walking boots and rucksacks) and swimming in the outdoor pool heated to a wonderful 30 degrees centigrade was real luxury for us after the 100 miles of the walk . Thoroughly recommended .

It was so great, elegant and relaxing. I wish I had booked a longer stay. The whole atmosphere was lovely and the grandeur of the dining areas. The blue restaurant was so beautiful. The cocktails at the bar and the spa was lovely. There were some rowdy female guests at the pool / spa area but that's not the hotel's fault unfortunately. I would love to stay again.

Great service and great food. Beautifully appointed, very clean with an excellent feel and atmosphere. Room was dark and noisy from the heating vents outside the window. Television was rather small for the size of room and there were not quite enough plugs in the room

We had yet another very enjoyable and excellent stay at the Grand Hotel in Eastbourne. There is nothing that can be faulted about this wonderful hotel. The service is excellent, the bedrooms are lovely and comfortable and the food is second to none. We can't wait to return again next year!

Excellent service from staff in all areas. Parking was tricky due to visit of car rally, but staff managed the car park efficiently, even bringing our car to the front door when it was torrential rain when we had checked out.

Fabulous Hotel located in the most ideal location on Eastbourne’ seafront
Room we was in was very tired looking and for a 5 star hotel lacked air conditioning or a fridge. The fan in the room was noisy
Breakfast though was superb

A fantastic hotel. The food , rooms and service is great. Some people may find it a bit more expensive than other hotels. Worth every penny. We love it. A step back in time to a great relaxed holiday.

Super hotel, efficient and friendly staff, lovely rooms, right opposite the sea so amazing views. WiFi and phone reception not as great as you’d like but passable. Can recommend afternoon tea and Mirabelle restaurant.

The Grand is perfect for those looking for a traditional, comfortable break on the English coast.

The service was exceptional. Staff were attentive and polite, with no detail left to chance. We were fully catered for in every department. It's one of the areas you'll never get through cheaper Air B'n'B alternatives, and is very central to the hotel experience. I'm happy to say that the staff at the Grand certainly seem to have recognised this.

A local guide informed us that the hotel was built in the 1870's. While the place shows its age occasionally (by way of a few creaky floorboards here and there), for the most part it lives up to it's name. Those looking for a traditional hotel experience won't be disappointed.

The food was top notch. Included with our booking was breakfast, which was freshly prepared and indulgent.

For those so inclined, the hotel is perfectly located as a base at the west-end of the Eastbourne front for walking trips along the coast to Beachy Head. The beach is a step away from the main entrance, and while there are a few local pubs and takeaways in the vicinity, we never really felt there was much to pull us away from the hotel for too long.

The only minor downer was the feel of the interior leisure facilities, which were a little low-key in comparison with the rest of the hotel. The changing facilities in particular felt in need of attention – a couple of lockers I tried to use were broken, and the steam room was quite dirty.

Overall, though, we had a holiday to remember at the Grand. I'd recommend it.

My husband and I stayed at the grand 21st Sept. 2019 On checking in, we were given an upgrade to our room so we had a wonderful spacious suite. Staff were polite, and courteous and nothing seemed to much trouble and were very knowledgeable when we asked for information about the hotel and its history. On arrival, they were extremely busy but the men who greeted us at the entrance were so helpful, immediately taking our luggage and parking the car. The evening meal that we had in the Garden room was delicious and well presented. Having the gym and swimming pool was an added bonus. We would definitely recommend the Grand and are looking forward to a return visit in the Spring.

This hotel has catered successfully for disabled clients nothing was too much trouble although it was grand it's faded look and the staff gave us that feeling of times past without being pompous the food overall was excellent well done will be back

Wanted to eat at Mirabelle as was recommended and we had an anniversary. The Grand lives up to its high reputation. Parking is an issue but I was lucky to get a spot without reserving and we would have been happy if breakfast was extended by half an hour. Staff are all very helpful and Mirabelle lived up to its reputation.

This was a superb afternoon tea: we were extremely well looked after, the tea itself was a gorgeous mix (robust yet delicately flavoured) and a delicious, plentiful and varied selection of sandwiches, cakes and scones. My niece’s nut allergy was well and respectfully catered for, with the added assurance of the entire table’s food being nut-free as well. I would highly recommend the The Grand as a superb venue for a first class afternoon tea experience, and very good value into the bargain.
