Helpful kind staff. Good facilities although room very hot in heatwave. No aircon! Loved the spa facilities and fabulous breakfasts. Kids adored the hot chocolate which comes with cookies, marshmallows etc. Great cocktails too.

This is our third visit and this time we stayed in a master suite, which was very nice, albeit very (too?) expensive. However, the Garden restaurant now has a very unexciting menu with prices massively increased from two years ago. You could eat similar quality food in a Café Rouge or other chain restaurant for about 150% less and the portions are quite small, in my opinion. Likewise, we had tea in the lounge with some family members and two medium-sized pots of tea plus THREE cakes cost £26! Parts of the hotel are looking quite tired and careworn and major refurbishment is well overdue, I think. There was a window in the corridor leading to our suite with a piece of wood hanging off and a huge gap in the glass. Not what you expect from a supposed five-star hotel, is it? I doubt that we'll stay here again as the over £1800 cost of a three-night stay certainly did not represent good value for money. Very disappointing as we enormously enjoyed our first stay three years ago. Great shame.

The Grand Hotel in Eastbourne.
We had a very pleasant time at The Grand Hotel in Eastbourne.
Our room was lovely and i like all the finishing touches like the bedroom slippers, lovely selection of teas, coffees and biscuits.
Nice touch of luxury toiletries.
The bed was nice and comfortable.
The hotel was lovely and very clean.
Staff are very friendly and helpful.
The Outside pool area need a revamp. It look so undesirable considering your staying at a 5 star hotel that's the only downside.
I quite like that the hotel is old fashioned and very traditional.
I will definitely recommend it to all my friends and family.

Had a wonderful double aspect room at the highest corner of the hotel, what better place to see the airshow from. Lovely big grand old hotel. Friendly helpful staff. Definitely worth a visit.
We'll come back again for a quiet relaxing weekend and explore the hotel and it's restaurants some more. Easy to imagine this hotel in it's Victorian heyday, and pretend you're part of it.

if your looking for somewhere to relax this place is perfect if you can afford it ! our only moan was the room was dated for a 5 star hotel we stayed in a premium deluxe inland view. Everything else was perfect.

This is our 4th stay at The Grand and I can’t recommend it enough, the facilities are excellent and position of the Debussy suite is out of this world. We have rebooked for Christmas minus the children this time 😁 and I can’t wait for a little pamper time

Wonderful food, A relaxing atmosphere, Restful & comfortable room, the beds were super soft. Maid service tending to your room needs bringing extra bottled water for example as it was so warm. The Breakfast selection was vast & extremely tasty.

Found hotel to be as expected, in almost all respects. I would have liked to see the Day Lounge Menu extended beyond 6.00pm. This did not affect our visit, and I can understand the reasoning behind the practice.

My elderly mum and I had a lovely relaxing 5 nights at The Grand. The staff are all lovely and the ambiance was luxurious but peaceful. The hot tub, steam room and sauna was a pleasure. The food was heavenly and the cocktails were especially good.

From the moment we drove into the forecourt we were treated with great respect. All the staff were courteous and very helpful. The building and the position of the hotel are wonderful but I always feel the staff make this hotel different. We went on to stay at a hotel in Dorset - beautiful views but it was 'soul less' because of the attitude of the staff.

Our room was excellent. All staff very helpful and always greeted with a good morning etc. No shortage of activity or leisure time and more than adequate shopping. Just step outside and enjoy the sea air and views. The town is spotless, no litter, no youths running amok, peace and pleasure.

I must say the people working here are top drawer, real old school good manners and nothing seemed too much.

The hotel is beautiful in an old world type of way and was also very large and obviously grand, (its in the name)

Breakfast which was part of the price was also very good and a credit to the hotel.

This is a delightful, friendly and welcoming hotel, which lives up to its title. The refurbished rooms on the front are by far superior depending upon budget. With Molton Brown toiletries in the bathroom, a spa and pool and an excellent on site restaurant, it represents excellent value for money for a hotel of this calibre with superb facilities to match.

This is our second visit here, whilst this is not the cheapest hotel this is the most amazing hotel when it comes to staff & how much you feel welcomed, we love our stays here, wish we could afford more nights.

An overnight stay, our friends stay here on a regular basis and persuaded us to join them. Wonderful welcome by the doorman guiding us to a parking space and taking our luggage.

Reception smooth and welcoming, we were fortunate to experience a suite on the second floor overlooking the sea. The room, as you would expect was clean and tidy with all the little extras including a coffee machine. Furniture old school but not the bed which had a fantastic mattress and crisp cotton bed linen which gave us a brilliant nights sleep.

After dinner at a local restaurant we came back and enjoyed the music from a band in the lounge area till late in the evening.

Breakfast, we were spoilt for choice, starting with fresh fruit I had the haddock with poached, delicious.

Staff immaculately dressed and nothing was too much trouble, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.

The Grand is a great location for the free seaside Airshow in Eastbourne - most sights were 0.4 miles away! I accept parking on such a busy weekend can be challenging but we found a space on the road to the side of the hotel so lucky us! The staff are friendly, polite, professional and helpful- sometime super busy but always with a smile. The bar is table service and very extensively stocked! I ordered room service Saturday night which was delivered within 30 (Tomato Tagliatelle & Garlic Bread) and was lovely and hot on arrival - they even gave us cold bottle water which was a nice touch. Breakfast on both days was great, the staff even gave us three different milk alternatives for our morning coffee so that we could try them - an example of going beyond, excellent service thank you. I used the gym Saturday morning for my 5k, it had all the facilities of a modern gym, unfortunately ran out of time for the pool but it looked lovely! This was our second stay here.. highly recommend.

It's a lovely old hotel , some of the rooms have been revamped to a great standard. Some areas are very tired The service is 5 star all the staff are friendly and polite
The set evening meal is definitely not 5 star standard a bad mistake maybe we should of had the more expensive one,or tried their exclusive restaurant
We found that they were very sparing with the shower gel bath soak shampoo etc although they did give us some more when asked, l think the blame was the night service in the room
it was our second time back at the hotel . Don't let this review put you off as l am really comparing it to other 5 star hotels

My. Wife was Housekeeping manager for 5 star Mariot in London. Housekeeping 5star. Apart from the time staffs uniforms. Entertainment poor. Hidden gratuities a supprise on checkout. Overall staff excellent. Members of Spa club a bit sniffy. When we went for early 7.30 swimm. Considering spent £1600 for 5 night stay, when enquired to extend for one night, no discount offered.

Anyone who visits The Grand will know what a wonderful, relaxing experience it is. Staff, food, ambience, everything is exemplary.
Worth the cost to be made to feel like the most valued and appreciated guest they have ever met! The Air Show is a fantastic experience and so enjoyable.
