Nice decor and service was very good. Food is good and although it is priced quite high as expected, not certain it is really worth it. However, if it is a special occasion, it is worth a look.

Staff were nice and the building is special like going back in time. Only gripe is the smallest smoking area ever when there's enough room for a bigger area which made me choose 3 stars instead of 4.

Grand it is with opulence you would expect at this Grand. Service very efficient by caring staff. Worth popping in for just a drink and sharing view out to sea.

Bon restaurant.

We've been to the Grand Hotel many times but this time we had a large suite to celebrate our 40th Wedding Anniversary. It was a real treat and the service was impeccable as usual.

From the moment we arrived to the moment we left we were treated with the utmost courtesy. The service is excellent and made us feel special. Our room was a junior suite with a side view of the sea to the front and a delightful view of the old town to the back. The room was spacious and had everything we needed for our one night stay. We dined in the Garden Restaurant, had tea and scones in the lounge, drank cocktails in the bar whilst listening to jazz, swam in the indoor pool and had a treatment each. Everything was exceptional, the staff extremely friendly, attentive and professional. This is a must for a special occasion and by far one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in.

We checked out of our self catering accommodation and checked into the Grand Hotel as we weren't ready to go home; we could use the leisure facilities straight away (11am) we enjoyed the sun loungers by the outdoor pool; there was live music playing; a BBQ feast (unsure if you had to pay). They provide towels and robes for the leisure facilities; excellent changing area; gym, indoor poo; steam room and Jacuzzi. Beauty treatments were available.
The hotel is open to non residents for drinks and food.
We stayed in a sea-view executive suite which was stunning; the bed was turned down at night and the curtains closed. the Sunday Times was left on the doorstep in the morning.
All the staff were very friendly, the food was amazing we had an afternoon tea then evening meal. Spoilt for choice for evening meal and the breakfast.
Overall a relaxing night stay, which we could have stayed longer.

I've previously enjoyed evening dinner here and that was excellent but this was my first go at Sunday lunch. In a nutshell it was perfect...

The hotel ambience is old school grandeur. It's very easy to imagine you're in a top London hotel.

The quality of the service and the food was right up there too. The service was friendly and attentive, consistently so from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. The food was delicious too. I opted for three courses and all three were superb! So often I'm disappointed with the beef main course option for a Sunday lunch but not on this occasion - it was delicious!

I would go back to The Grand anytime for Sunday lunch. Highly recommended!

If you're driving make sure you contact the hotel to request parking. We were lucky and there was a parking space available otherwise we would had to have paid for parking off site somewhere.

A bit below par. Though the staff moved us from a room above a wine bar the 3rd floor room had the smallest bed I've encountered for a couple. The food at dinner was decidedly average and slow and breakfast good but again a bit hit and miss. Not really what we expected.

Effortless Elegance
An impressive exterior (they don't call it the white palace for nothing) leads to some stunning classic interiors.
Our room was large and well appointed, heavenly bedding and towels.
Drinks in the bars or restaurants were consistently excellent.
The Garden Restaurant for dinner and breakfast was well staffed and very good food and presentation.
Mirabelle Restaurant for a taster menu with wine pairings (and fireworks outside) was a magical evening.
Pool, spa and gym are all wonderful and spotlessly clean. Shout out to Steph for a relaxing massage and nice chat.
This is an impressive hotel and not budget friendly but worth it.
But the best thing is actually the staff. Everyone is super friendly, sincere and takes time to chat.
Rita on reception is an example of the wonderful friendly service. Grazie bella!
Really wonderful 4 days mini break for me and my new fiancé

We stayed here over the August Bank Holiday weekend, I wanted somewhere not too far to drive, with spa facilities and I didn't want to fly anywhere for such a short period of time so we settled on The Grand! Location is perfect, a stones throw from the beach - we had a side sea view room and what a lovely view, there is something very soothing about the sea. The room itself was spacious, the bed was comfy, the pillows like clouds. As other reviews suggest the décor does need a refresh and I could see room by room they are renovating which will be great in the future. All aspects of service were great, we enjoyed some nice cocktails in the bar and an afternoon tea on the Sunday, it doesn't compare to its London counterparts but for the price we were pleased. Breakfast was nice, we always found service quick and food came out within 15 minutes so personally we did not experience any issues there. The spa facilities are good, the outdoor pool when the sun is out is great but my one complaint is the treatments. I was so looking forward to one of their signature treatments, I wouldn't normally spend so much but I wanted to treat myself. It was supposed to compromise of a full body scrub and then full body massage, the scrub was good but after this to explain how poor it was I thought she was maybe applying cream! However it was the massage... there was no pressure to it, it was just 'bleh' when I realised I told the therapist that she can be firmer which lasted for a couple of minutes before going back to before. There is no way it warranted the triple figure price but no one asked me how it was so I didn't really know what to do. Such a let down as I was so looking forward to this part!
