An interesting building with good art and art resources. It was impressive that they were chosen to host the Turner Prize finalists when we were there.Visited on

The Towner holds a longstanding fine art collection in storage - much of which is by Sussex based artists. The majority of the limited space is currently taken up by the finalists in the much hyped Turner prize. With one exception none of these can be described as fine art - or anything resembling art of any description. This is bad enough but the fact that they replace true art is an abomination and all those who contribute to such cynical and misplaced adulation of abject fakery should examine their consciences. Never has ' the Emperor's new clothes' syndrome been more appropriate.

Always love the Towner. It's a place you can spend and hour or an afternoon. Also visited the Cinema for the first time. Sound was as good as I've heard. Lovely comfortable seats too.Visited on

We went over for the 2023 Turner Prize experience, examples of four artists on view, but I think I enjoyed the coffee and flapjack more!

Great space and really exciting and interesting art. The Turner exhibit is the wow factor at present and it really shows the potential of this space getting such a high profile exhibit and artists. Lovely welcoming staff too. I know everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I don’t get the negative reviews- it’s an amazing creative space and overall building complex, especially given the size of Eastbourne itself - a gem indeed.

Went for the Turner Prize show which was free entry. Enjoyed Jesse Darling's sculptures and Barbara Walker's drawings the most. There is also a great room with wonderful Eric Ravilious originals of local landscapes and a large Grayson Perry picture. Outside the gallery has been painted in beautiful geometric colours and there is a very moving piece by Michael Rakowitz’ a glorious winged bull. Well worth a visit
