A great weekend at St Pierre Park. We were there for a reunion with a group of friends and the hotel was a great choice. We rented a car as we were a little way out of St Peter Port, but the regular and reliable bus service passes right by the hotel so we could probably have managed without one.
We had a private dinner on one evening and were well looked after by the catering team.

We enjoyed a very nice stay at the St. Pierre Park Hotel. There was more to do at the hotel than our 2 day stay allowed. The entire staff we met were both professional and friendly. We were with our 5 year old daughter and the staff really made her feel welcome, starting with a small activity book we found upon arrival in our room. One morning before heading to the beach she was presented with a bucket and shovel for our shell collecting and sand castle building.

The breakfast was excellent with a large selection. We enjoyed some time in the indoor pool. The rest of the spa looked inviting and would have loved to spend more time in the spa for a treatment if our scheduled allowed.

Staying over after a rugby match is always a pleasure at the St Pierre Park. Close to the stadium with a wide range of facilities, comfortable, relaxed, and pleasant.
After the joys of the rugby club on Saturday night the breakfast is always very welcome.

Stayed here for 3 nights and was very impressed. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. The service is excellent and the breakfast is one of the best I have come across in any hotel. The rooms are very comfortable and clean. Great choice of hot drinks in the room too.

We spent a long weekend here and it was lovely. The pool was great, our room clean and welcoming and for breakfast there was plenty to chose from.
We also had a function in the hotel and I was impressed with the organisation.
It made our holiday special.

Breakfast was really good help yourself .coffee and tea brought to table.we had a car you will need one nice to drive and look around .dont bother going to the guernsey flower place nothing to see but you can order flowers to be sent home don't see the point of that.we had a nice time.

Upgraded to here due to an incident at our original selection however we were more than happy! Superb hotel and very difficult to fault. Service was excellent and the breakfast huge and tasty! Virtually in the middle of the island which was ideal for us as we love to walk and did everywhere from St. Peters Port (generally twice per day!) to Cobo bay. However a bus does run right by the door (£2 per trip) for the 2 miles to the centre of St Peters Port. The taxi journey to and from the airport was only £10 each way and on this basis a taxi to St Peters Port would be reasonable. Lovely 18m pool barely in use while we were there and set at a balmy 30C. Gorgeous grounds and although I didn't play the par 3 nine hole golf course looked to be a challenge! Would heartedly recommend and I didn't feel that the weekend tariff was unreasonable. Lovely staff. Enjoy - we did!

We have just revisited St Pierre Park after giving it a miss for a number of years, because we had heard it had undergone a major overhaul and achieved a number of improvements. Overall, that is true. The decor is now attractive, it is scrupulously clean and the breakfast - setting, food and service - must be the best on the island. However, for a four star hotel there are a number of disappointments. The bedroom's lovely view was fine, but the beds were rather hard and the pillows even more so; there was no minibar, security safe, beach-wrap or slippers; the chamber-maid seemed rather surly, perhaps disorientated with her rather limited English; nor is the sound-proofing very good, either from adjacent rooms or from public rooms which had dinner-dances on two consecutive nights. Their vaunted Victor Hugo restaurant was no better than we remembered it: an unremarkable menu, appallingly poor service and high prices; it should learn from the competition in St Peter Port, especially from La Nautique and The Absolute End. Overall our 4-night stay was enjoyable but I doubt if we will be going there again. We love Guernsey and only hope that La Grande Mare Hotel on the West Coast gets back on to the form that we fondly remember.

We, a group of three couples, stayed here for four nights in May 2014. Our rooms on the topmost (second) floor were clean and well equipped, notably with what looked like a recently renovated bathroom and a well stocked tea/coffee etc tray.

Foodwise the buffet breakfast was good; and there were several items available to order. For dinner there was the Victor Hugo restaurant where the food was good but the service rather slow, especially given that the place was not that busy.

Alternatively there was the Pavilion Restaurant, a separately run business, Things ran more efficiently there.

On two nights we ate in St Peter Port where there are many dining options. Our first was Mora on the sea front. This was very enjoyable and we were a bit lucky to get a table for six since it was Guernsey's Liberation Day.

Three days later we ate in the Dix Neuf brasserie. This, too, was good.

Stayed here for 3 nights. The hotel is pleasant if looking a little dated from outside! The rooms were clean and breakfast was good. The kids enjoyed using the pool which was really nice. The grounds of the hotel are also lovely and it's well located, we were able to walk into St. Peter port in 15-20 mins. Staff were mostly friendly although some struggled with english. Not the best hotel in the world but a good stay.

Our recent holiday was upgraded from a 2 star Hotel to the 4 star St Pierre Park Hotel. It was lovely. The staff were very friendly, esspecially the head waiter at breakfast. The room was amazing with a balcony overlooking the park and gardens. The selection at breakfast was superb. We used the on site swimming pool and jacuzzi, it was immaculately clean and inviting. Would love to stay there again. Although there was a 20/25 minute walk to St Peter Port, it was really worth it.

I have been using this hotel for years. It offers everything we needed for our holiday and we particularly enjoyed eating on the terrace and swimming in the indoor pool which larger than most hotel pools. The rooms were clean and everything worked well. No complaints at all but after so many years I do think it is looking a little tired in public areas so it must be time for an update.

A very nice hotel, very friendly and welcoming.. The room was extremely comfortable and equipped to a very high standard. Sadly the wi-fi was very limited in the room. We ate in the restaurant one evening and the service and food quality was extremely high and the staff were very attentive. The pool and sauna/jacuzzi were free to guests and again reached a high standard.
This is a very good 4 Star hotel, and we had a great anniversary weekend
Thanks everyone

First of all - free car hire was offered for a duration of our stay! How cool is that?

I wish this place could be not in Guernsey, but somewhere an hour drive from us. Wonderful staff at reception and breakfast (hello, fellow Latvians), lovely pool and sauna, good size room with a beautiful lake view, great breakfast! Even quick dinner on arrival in the bar was delicious and freshly made, not to mention enormous size of the dishes.

One tiny improvement area, which might not be important for most people is that steam room walls need refreshing as paint has now cracked. I would suggest to invest in proper tiles. However, it was the strongest and warmest steam room I have been to in a while, so I enjoyed it very much.

Read their blurb and believe it .
Exactly as described .
Breakfast very good and a wide selection to choose from.
Rooms exactly as described ,
Not right by the sea ( but it says that)
Small balcony ( but it says that).
Staff are efficient and helpful ).
Pool and jacuzzi lovely ( robes and towels at no extra cost ) .
Bus stops close by ( £2 a ride unless you say you are local in which case £1! . Outrageous for an island that relies on tourism ).
We didn't eat an evening meal here so can't comment on that (fortunate enough to have relatives on the Island who looked after us for that )
Good gardens with play area in a safe environment ( but big lake if you've young kids).
Corporate , not quirky at all but it is exactly as described and we will return

Just back from a business trip here.
Lucky enough to be upgraded on arrival, but I'm sure even the regular rooms will be very nice. Had a few nice touches in the bedroom, nespresso coffee maker, large tv, confy bed, good toiletries etc. The grounds are pretty and the interior all clean and well maintained. Enjoyed breakfast next morning and unfortunately had to move on, would of liked to of stayed longer. All in all, good choice for a short break or a mini holiday.

Stayed here for two nights.

The pluses: staff helpful and pleasant
Room comfortable
Bathroom large with plenty of space to lay out toiletries etc. Very unusual.
Plenty of hanging and drawer space
Very clean bedroom and bathroom
Reliable free wifi in room

The minuses:
Unusable safe - on the floor in the wardrobe so one needs to be on hands
and knees to use it. Not very OAP friendly.
As mentioned previously, tiny balcony. Only one person can squeeze onto it.

On the whole the food was good, especially the breakfasts. We attended quite a large
function and the food was a bit hit and miss.

Although it is possible to walk down into St Peter Port it is quite a long walk down a main road, with a pavement on only one side of it for much of the way. Bus stop a short distance from
the hotel though. Car hire can be arranged and there is a large car park.
I imagine it would be good for families.

Thought I would treat myself and stay at one of the best local hotels on the Island. Food always exceptional and service always great.

Great value for such good service.

Lovely grounds and spa. Shame I didn't take my clubs.

Once again a 1 night stay in a hotel for me.

This hotel ticked all the boxes, but was nothing outstanding. All good enough, without being anything extraordinary.

You may like to know there is a Waitrose across the road and up a bit. Handy if like me you get a bit fed up with room service and fancy different fresh salads etc.

I would happily stay again.

Stayed here for a few days while in guernsey with work, clean and tidy but a little dated but everything worked fine so no problems. Nice pool/sauna/steam rooms also on site, will stay here again when i visit next.

This was a first time visit and just a single night on business at that. Everything worked exactly as you would expect - even the WiFi was consistently reliable. The rooms were clean, attractive and spacious, albeit a little chilly. The bed was certainly comfortable enough. The bar was quiet on the Thursday evening, a good selection of beers and the bar food was quite good. The cooked breakfast despite being a self-service buffet was excellent - especially the enormous local sausages.

This hotel totally deserves its 4 star award and even comes close to 5 star facilities in many areas.

The hotel was kept in an immaculate condition and we found its décor to be maintained to the highest standards, and even exceeded our expectations. The rooms are very large and well appointed. The only improvement that I felt could be made would be to include a fridge in ‘every’ room, rather than just offering one by request. The hotel is set in large attractive grounds and benefits from a number of outdoor terraces that must be a delight to use in the warmer months. There is a spa facility and hairdressers (both of which we felt was a bit pricey) and a lovely swimming pool.

Our room’s double bed was a magnificently comfortable super-king size and the bed linen was replaced every day of our 3 night stay, so we got to enjoy that ‘fresh bed’ experience every night. We also found the bathroom towels equally wonderful, all white and fluffy and they were replaced every day too - without asking. The bathroom provided a good selection of quality toiletries including shower cap etc and the shower (over bath) with glass screen was modern - if a little fiddly when we tried working out how to divert the water flow from bath to shower function.

The room came equipped with the usual furniture one would expect, with its wardrobe providing more than adequate coat hangers, a hair dryer and a 28” flat screen TV showing Freeview channels, including radio - but unusually, no pay to view movie option. It was nice to have FREE wifi in all of the rooms for a change instead of just the foyer, and we also found the signal to be very good and reliable. We were lucy enough to got a (low season) free upgrade to a room overlooking the gardens which meant that we had a balcony too with table and chairs. Free parking is in abundance, so there were no issues or problems finding anywhere to park our hire car.

We found that most of the staff are younger eastern Europeans, but they were ALL very professional with a friendly warmth and confidence befitting this type of establishment. They were all extremely polite, courteous and attentive. We even found the service/maintenance staff always gave you a pleasant greeting and acknowledgement in the corridors too.

We cannot begin to praise the standard of buffet breakfast at this hotel high enough. It is beyond belief and probably the largest selection of hot/continental and ‘other’ I have ever encountered. It offered the best quality of ingredients and produce that I have ever experienced and actually goes beyond what is already laid out before you. It will leave you salivating. There is also an additional printed breakfast menu with a ‘made to order’ selection too - offering all the quirky less popular bits like kippers, pancakes etc - the choice overall just goes on and on. We were lucky enough to have breakfast included in our room rate, but it costs £13.95 per person otherwise.

The hotel is set a bit out of town and while it may not look far to walk (as the crow flies) it feels a long way ‘uphill’ to the half way point - and then it goes even steeper downhill again leading into town. Bear in mind that the pavements are narrow and you walk along a very busy road. It is not suited for the unfit or elderly and took us as a 50+ unfit couple about 40 minutes. You can take a bus instead however, which for non residents cost £2.00 one way, or you can get a day ticket for about £4.50. We used the taxi a few times and the cost each way in and out of town ranged from £7 to £9.00 one way.

Some earlier reviews make reference to the “Dog House Pub” conveniently located just up the road from the hotel. It is a clean, well managed pub but most people fail to mention that as a live band venue, it’s really geared up to the under 35’s and they didn’t even have any Bitter on tap when we paid a brief visit.

We had a great time at this hotel and the only ‘blip’ we experienced occurred on our last evening when the hotel hosted a boxing dinner. This meant that residents weren’t allowed to access the full bar area and we had to make do with a smaller restricted part that was divided off for the early part of the evening. The thing was, we then also had the boxing teams ‘entourage’ put in with us, to separate them from the ‘black tie’ event guests.

The event was hosted in the main dining room which also meant that we had to use another of the restaurants for breakfast on 2 of the mornings. Anyway, we had planned to eat in and ordered a bar meal from the ‘restricted’ bar and the service started off wonderfully, but as the boxing guests started to arrive, their presence took priority over the residents. This became a nuisance when we and others tried to get served at the bar and later when it came to clearing up everyone’s dinner plates. It left us and other diners resorting to clearing up our own crockery and cutlery and depositing it on the bar so that we could have some space on our tables, and we were disappointed to see the (busy) waitress deliver more meals, but walk back to the kitchen with an empty tray past all of the empty plates without any attempt to clear the bar or tables. It let the hotel down I’m afraid as did the lengthy wait at the bat to get served, until the event got under way and the staff had time to serve the resident guests. The bar food was nice, but you won't put on any weight when it comes to the portion sizes unfortunately. After the dividers were removed and we had access to the full bar again, we then had to be witness to some warm up sparring with a boxer and trainer - fine if you like boxing, but not really the right place or time for that sort of thing I'm afraid!

A note on the bar area; Why do we have to constantly endure large TV screens everywhere, how about some subdued background music, dim the lights and create a nice ambience for a change?

So in conclusion we’d highly recommend this hotel but check if there are any events on first, I’d hate to think what the service would be like if there was a wedding on - but apart from that, it gets full marks. Now the bit the hotel doesn’t like, it cost us £238.00 for 3 nights which was made up of one couple paying for 2 nights and getting the 3rd free, with breakfast included.

I stayed for three days last October. A very good hotel indeed. The room was warm and comfortable; the food was excellent; the Guernsey cider was delicious. Very conveniently placed for everywhere on the island. Highly recommended.

so enjoyed our stay here...
main plus was the very comfortable and soft bed, so rare these days, everyone believing "firm" is somehow good, when its actually loathsome.
Bathroom well designed and our room was all round of fine quality.
we had the half board deal from Avios in order to make the most of our surplus, but the restaurant was not one we would have chosen to go back to each night had we been either staying longer, or on a B&B basis...
Some of the menu was fine I guess, but chef had some odd ideas such as old potatoes shaved to look like new, boiled and stuck on the plate...

breakfast on the other hand was the most complete buffet set of choices I have ever seen, and we both enjoyed, so all round I'd say food was a plus.

The service all round was good, very pleasant and attentive staff, traditional hotel values abounded, so I do recommend, but possibly best to use alternate evening restaurant facilities for choice.

As a birthday treat for my wife, we hopped over from Jersey to stay a single night at the St Pierre Park. Thanks to the excellent assistance of Sandra in reservations department, I'd been able to book The Alderney Suite. Simply stunning with a very large lounge, bedroom and an excellent en-suite.

However, the best part was the suite had its own enormous terrace with extensive comfy seating, sun lounges and a great hot tub. We were lucky as weather was perfect and actually were able to sit outside as well as use the tub.

Leisurely 20 minute stroll in to St Peter Port with its quaint streets and abundance of restaurants and bars. We had lunch at the Crows Nest which overlooks the marina. Great staff and excellent food.

Back at the hotel, my wife had a manicure late afternoon and she said that the young lady who did it was extremely friendly and very professional. Afterwards we met up in the bar for a drink and the staff here, too, were great.

We were on a half board basis and decided to dine in the Victor Hugo restaurant. Food was of a very high quality and all the staff were very friendly - only downside was that it was very quiet, it was early January, so certainly not down to the fault of the hotel.

As we had a suite, we had breakfast in our room and it was really good.

We would certainly recommend this hotel and will definitely be returning.
