We went here for our annual Christmas staff meal. The staff were very attentive, the room was attractively laid out. The food was excellent , delicious and beautifully presented. The best Christmas meal out for so many people.

This hotel was recommended to me by a friend in Jersey and it didn’t disappoint. The staff were amazing. Helpful, friendly and clearly take pride in their work. The colour scheme in my room was a bit dark for my liking and one or two minor details could have been updated but the room was well proportioned and in my case had a view over the park. I very rarely stay in and eat at hotels but in this case I did and was pleasantly surprised both by the quality of the food and the reasonable prices. Service in the restaurant was exceptional led by Orlando. Overall a great stay. I tried to upload a panoramic shot of the room and failed so here is an edited shot of the best Christmas pudding I have ever had which I enjoyed at the hotel.

For anyone looking for a warm welcome when in Guernsey, make sure you visit and stay at The Duke of Richmond hotel. Norbert and his team go above and beyond to ensure his guests and visitors are happy.

Everyone on Reception are friendly and helpful. Dianna, Aaron, David are just a few of the friendly faces who have made us feel like we are at a home away from home.

Olga always ensures a pleasurable meal is enjoyed in the restaurant. Her attention to detail is exceptional. As we are both Vegetarian she went out of her way to ensure the chefs put on a variety of Specials so we had something different to choose from (we stay frequently and have worked our way through the menu Vegetarian options).

I opted for a tasty Spinach tortellini and my Partner enjoyed the Halloumi Burger and fries. The chef on duty was Alan and he definitely loves to cook! Our meals were perfect and very tasty.

The hotel is dog friendly, as they are part of the Red Carnation Hotel Group. We are always blown away by how much they love our Boston Terrier, Sidney and he is always treated like a VIP.

So, when I say everyone can expect a warm welcome... I do mean everyone!

Thank you all for another brilliant stay.

We have just stayed at the DoR for the 4th time and we have always felt welcome, at home and comfortable. We have stayed in a variety of bedrooms, from a classic double to a suite with balcony and each time it has been special. A ten out of ten for everyone who works at the DoR but a very special mention must go to Olga who manages the restaurant - she is always helpful, attentive and welcoming. The DoR is our first port of call, whenever we visit this lovely Channel Island.

The hotel is nicely decorated, clean and comfortable. The staff are lovely and really helpful. We ate in the restaurant and the food was great.

The only downside was that the bedroom was really, really cold at night.

Recently visited this fun and well presented hotel with it's eclectic mix of decor. First impressions on entering the hotel are dominated by the checker board flooring, accompanied by the sparkle of glass and silverware leading up to a central reception desk where a warm welcome awaited us. Our travel arrangements had already created a challenging start to our time in Guernsey as we had been due to start our stay in Sark but due to poor weather had to swap the first part of our holiday around. The hotel were able to deal with this in a flexible and efficient manner, accommodating the varying requirements of all 9 of us!
Following check in we located our well appointed 3rd floor room, which was a very good size, decorated with opulent blue striped walls, a large, very comfortable bed, seating area and good sized bathroom. All clean and tidy with the addition of tea and coffee making facilities. Prior to arrival we had requested an iron and ironing board along with feather pillows and this had not been overlooked.
The dining experience at the hotel is also to be commended and we enjoyed the safari chic themed Leopard Bar as our pre meal meeting place. Again the staff were friendly and obliging, offering suggestions of the wines and beers that might tempt us! In the comfortable and spacious restaurant we took advantage of the tennerfest menu on offer and were not disappointed with the quality of the food provided. The same can be said for the variety of options available for breakfast which has something to suit most tastes, no excuses for feeling hungry here! In summary, I can thoroughly recommend this hotel which is close to the centre of St Peter's Port yet in a quiet and attractive area and would happily visit it again.

We were visiting Guernsey for the first time, and were here for 4 days, during this time I was celebrating my birthday!! I have high expectations for hotels I stay in and am occasionally disappointed. The Duke of Richmond however, didn't disappoint, it exceeded my expectations, hugely!! The superior room we stayed in was large, bright and roomy adorned with a cute chandelier above the bed. Super clean room with lovely little extras. The hotel itself is SO elegant with a really stunning reception. The main reason this hotel is EXCEPTIONAL is the staff. Absolutely nothing was too much trouble, they were ALL bright friendly and cheerful ( we were there for 4 days and it never changed). They found out it was my birthday and so when we returned to our beautiful room, after cycling round the island all day, a beautiful little cake decorated with fruit and happy birthday written in chocolate was sitting on the table and an even sweeter touch was a birthday card signed by every member of the concierge/ reception team!! It was full of signatures. We ate in their restaurant twice and again, the blond maitre d was utterly charming and professional every time!! Gorgeous Irish waiter who served us, was a delight!! Thank you The Duke of Richmond and your AMAZING staff. Due to how you treated us, we will MOST definitely return and would recommend this hotel to the most discerning of travellers. Thank you thank you thank you!!!!!!!!!!

The walk to town is a pleasure but hard work coming back unless an experienced walker.

Thank you to the General Manager and his team for a lovely stay. Special mention to Paul from the bar for his cocktails the wife enjoyed them.

I have been in Guernsey for business for the past four days working out of the conference room at the hotel. The staff have been absolutely wonderful and made me feel like one of the team by the time I left. Hilario and his team were particularly excellent and did more than required when I had some issues (not the hotels fault) with my conference. Nothing was too much trouble and even my delegates commented on how well we were looked after.
I work away every week and the service I received here is the best I've experienced all year. Hilario, Adrian Aaron and the team really did make the difference.
Thank you - I will certainly recommend my company use you again.

We have stayed at this hotel firstly July 2014, on at least 4 occasions and more recently a long weekend July 17 and 1 night Oct 17!

First weekend back in July 2014 I was celebrating my birthday and for breakfast as it was our last day provided a slice of cake complete with candle and the staff singing happy birthday!

We brought our cocker spaniel Pepsi with us in July 2017 and amazing response from all staff members made a pet certificate and door cards especially for her, treats in the room and constant attention making us feel very welcome with our dog, not what we were expecting from such a highly class hotel, it was as if our dog was royalty!!

We got married 30th Sept in Sark and on what was suppose to be our Journey home to Jersey we decided we could not leave Guernsey without staying in our favorite hotel for 1 more night and wow a congratulations card and bottle of fizz was waiting in our room, all the staff are always happy to see you and will have a chat anytime, amazing hotel with first class service!

It’s the length that you guys go to make the extra mile is very much appreciated!!

Thank you!!!!

Duke of Richmond hotel

I had a three night stay here in September 107 (room 109). The hotel is up on the hill overlooking St Peter Port, a ten minute walk down into town. There is an outdoor swimming pool and a terrace lounge next to it, which is a nice spot to sit if the weather is good. The hotel breakfast is unusually good, cooked to order rather than a buffet, and with all the usual options. The room was what an estate agent might describe as “cosy”, but it had plenty of electrical sockets, air conditioning and a comfortable albeit rather small bed. The room had a little kettle, with tea and coffee provided.
The best aspect of the stay was the unusually high quality staff, who were eager to please and helpful throughout our stay. Incidentally, if when staying here you need a taxi, then allow enough time to order one. There is currently no Uber here, and a taxi can take quite a while to sort out. I was impressed that on one occasion, when even with half an hour to spare no taxi was forthcoming despite the reception staff’s best efforts, one of the staff gave us a lift instead.

We have just returned from a 4 night minimoon at DoR and we had a marvellous time!

We were in a superior room which had loads of space, quirky furnishings and bedding that felt like you were enveloped in a smooth, soft marshmallow.

The food at the restaurant was outstanding, we had dinner on 3 nights and couldn't fault either the food or the service, and we may have to return to Guernsey for another go at that amazing Eton Mess. Our photo of afternoon tea has been very popular with our friends on facebook too!

We also had a massage at the OGH, the sister hotel down the road, which was a lovely experience.

Thank you to all the staff at the DoR for your warmth and professionalism, you guys rock!

Great hotel. Typically Red Carnation group look and feel. Balance of comfort and colonial. Stunning room, well appointed. Great to get real filter coffee in the room- I wish all hotels could do this.
Only pity was a shower in the bath. I personally prefer a separate shower.

My wife and I were so impressed by the quality of the service in this hotel. Nothing was too much trouble and it was hard to leave and go home! I am very happy to recommend the hotel to all visitors with the exception that those with mobility issues may find the uphill walk from town to the hotel something of a challenge. What is more, the dinner we had in the hotel was the best of our stay.

My wife and I were invited for afternoon tea with a large party of friends. The service was impeccable throughout. The food was interesting and varied with several astonishingly inventive culinary twists and the selection was almost too generous given the calorie count. We were able to eat al fresco on a comfortably sunny day and enjoyed an unhurried tea in pleasant surroundings.

Just can't speak highly enough of the Duke of Richmond. A friend and I spent 4 nights there. The hotel is stunning and immaculate, the food magnificent and position is quiet and beautiful. The staff couldn't do enough to make our stay as easy and enjoyable as it could be- they were both knowledgeable and helpful in so many ways. A return is definitely on the cards!

We have recently returned from a 4 night stay at the Duke of Richmond Hotel in Guernsey, it was our 1st stay in Guernsey so we didn't know what to expect. We chose the hotel on line after much searching and definitely chose the creme de la crème. We arrived at about 8 am after flying from Exeter to find our room was ready even though the check in time was 2pm. The room was amazing, room 300 overlooking the pool with a sea view. We couldn't fault the breakfast my husband had the full English and I had the continental lovely fresh fruits croissants and I had a waffle with fruit and maple syrup which was delicious. We had teamaking facilities in the room with biscuits and a local newspaper every day. Every one of the staff couldn't do enough for you very professional yet approachable. The hotel is situated perfectly for touring the island although it is a steep walk down to the port and obviously not for anyone with walking difficulty's. It was our 1st visit to Guernsey but it won't be our last and we will definitely stay at the Duke of Richmond hotel again.

We had an interesting journey as the weather was quite bad. The Captain of the Condor Liberation did very well to get into Guernsey harbour as the winds were gusting 40mph! We managed to get a taxi to the Duke of Richmond hotel & received a warm welcome from the reception staff. We had a wonderful 4 days stay. Our rooms were very clean nice fluffy towels dressing gowns etc. Water was always very hot. The breakfasts were very good. A very good selection & waiter service for the hot food. We ate in the restaurant in the evening, which was always busy. The food we had was always excellent. The restaurant staff were very good always friendly. On the whole I would really recommend this hotel nothing was too much trouble & the staff were excellent. The only thing I would say is that it was very hilly to walk to & from hotel so if anyone has difficulty walking you would need to use taxis. We were fine & used the buses to get around the island at £1 a journey. We went all the way round one day for £1 about a 1 1/2 hour journey!

It was my girlfriends birthday and after much deliberation I settled on duke of Richmond. I can honestly say one of the best I have ever stayed in, they made her feel so special, upgraded us to the herm room which was soooooo good!!! At dinner they treated her like a queen free prosecco and a cocktail, so attentive, this place is classy ,the food is great and when you pay up front you get the fifty quid off your food bill. On our return to the room they decorated our room in petals and chocolates 😊 huge thank you guys! I forgot to mention so much stuff.

We went to the hotel in order to celebrate our anniversary and was not disappointed. From the moment we got there we a wonderful time. This is a delightful hotel with friendly and extremely helpful staff. Our room was very comfortable with a super large bed. The only slight issue I had was the lights was insufficient but did not spoil a great weekend. I have reviewed the restaurant and mentioned the excellent manageres separately.

Stayed for 2 nights on a short break. Room was small but just fine for a short break. The hotel staff just can't do enough for you. Breakfast is excellent and cooked to order, bar prices are reasonable for a hotel. We also had dinner in the restaurant which was top quality with great service, expensive but worth the price.
