I must visit this place at least 4-5 times a year and have the most amazing time every visit.
The way the park is set out/up gives a unique and wonderful insight into the wild animals. I have never been bored or felt rushed when visiting this park, and find the animals incredibly well looked after. Its also a fantastic place to take children where they can get up and close to all the animals. The park staff are very knowledgeable and are able to answer all questions about the animals.
A fantastic day out can't rate it high enough....

I visited PWP with my partner yesterday and was left quite disappointed. The park is very small compared to other zoos we have visited and almost half of it was covered in inflatable slides and kids rides. I'm sure families love it here but we only came to see the animals so were unhappy at how small the area was. We expected a day out and was only there for 2 hours.

When you have a lot of children,(whether they are your own, or someone else'), you want them to have fun although not at any cost. I have been to this attraction many times, however, this time around I visited with three nieces ages range form 7 - 10.
First, you pay less if you book on line and that is what I resorted to, thank God the printer was working. The children loved the animals, the talks, the fact that they can feed the animals, listen to talks and see some special shows put on.
What is more, there were lots and lots of activity areas, which means I could relax and let the children have fun.
The food is also very reasonably priced, three hungry mouths to feed cost next to nothing, although I did supplement with lunch from home. There were a few things that you had to pay for which again was reasonable.
People like me always steer clear of the souvenir shops, but with the one in PWP, you will not be disappointed, you could purchase things for as little as a pound.
The staff? they are overwhelmingly friendly, the children were having so much fun and I did not know it was time to head back, so we missed the last bus, but I cannot really count how many seconds it took for someone to radio someone who put another bus out for us, just four us in the shuttle bus - it was amazing and the driver joked with the kids all the way. We also had a tractor ride with a very lovely driver.
Paradise Wildlife Park is an attraction and a half - the price, the staff and yes the animals made it worth our time and money.

Drove all the way from the North west of England to Broxbourne as my Son had bought me a Feed the Lemurs for 2 experience for my Birthday...WELL worth the long journey!. Medium sized zoo....Half Zoo on one side half play area, Theme park on the other. Ample parking space. And good facilities. Staff very friendly and informative....Animals in beautiful condition and well looked after ,by the look of them, Average size encloseurs. White Tigers,Snow leopards . Penguins lions Wolfs childrens petting area...the list go's on.....Fast food ,but good quality what was served to us.....The Lemur Experience Myself & My Husband had was simply the nicest thing I have ever done.....Brilliant for any animal lover.Greeted at the Discovery Centre, by Attentive staff with Tea/Coffee & a lovely assortment of biscuits...Our Keeper introduced himself and explained what would happen on our tour and took us to the Lemur Enclouseur . And gave us each a large Bowl of fruit each to feed them with...we were taken into the outside area of the cages and went inside and & sat on the bench inside...The lovely keeper called their names and a full family of Ring Tail Lemurs decended on us...ever so gently....Wow they were beautiful and delicate so well mannered ...nobody snatched the fruit & took it ever so gently from your fingers or opened thie mouths for it so gently again......Paradise. The keeper took my Phone & clicked away leaving us with lots of Beautiful photos and gave us a really informative talk about them. The time flew but after half an hour it was time to leave this area. we were then shown around pens and their inside living areas. You are then free to explore the rest of the zoo afterwards in the price. Cannot praise the staff enough they are really passionate about all the Animals in their charge & if animals have to live in a zoo I would think they would be very lucky to live at Paradise Park as although their space is not at a premium... I have never seen Animals in such a healthy condition as I did here......Do go see !

Visited PWP with one year old son, too many inflatables and rides compared to animals. Would have been better for slightly older children as they can participate more and take advantage of the alternative entertainments. An expensive entry for adults for what what you get inside and poor that you have to ten pay for many of the extras inside. Would rather visit Colchester zoo or old McDonald farm, this tries to combine both and fails unfortunately.

Not been before so thought we would try PWP with our two grandchildren, 5 and 12 years. Their second visit.
If you can ignore all the pay activities on the way in this is a delightful wildlife park.
The animals were in excellent condition and were all quite lively for a warm day. The big cats were just beautiful.
An easy park to get round once you have worked out the two sides of the park.
We all enjoyed the woodland walk which ends with lots of free playground play.
Take a picnic, lots of picnic tables available, but take the opportunity to have a coffee overlooking the tiger enclosure.

I visited Paradise Wildlife Park with friends in late October 2014. The park is quite small compared to many zoos, but as far as I could tell every animal had sufficient space and was well cared for. I am no expert but no specimen seemed unhappy, and they all looked healthy. Several animals are breeding which I always take to be a good sign.

Highlights were definitely the red pandas. I've seen these before, chilling at the top of a tree. But being a very family friendly zoo the red pandas (and many other creatures) were fed during our visit. Both adults came down from their perch for some fruit and their babies poked their heads out of their 'nest' box. The white tiger was also fed during our visit, and in both cases an informative talk was given. Other animals include three regular tigers which interacted a lot with each other. Their enclosure is very close to the walkway and you can be just a few feet from them. Indeed the tigers seem as interested in us as we are in them.

There are lots of monkeys, gibbons and so on. All appeared to be in adequate housing with plenty of branches to leap about, toys to play with and so on. There's a reptile house which is small but has several spectacular species of snake, lizard, chameleons and a rather evil looking alligator. There's an indoor cave with fruit bats flying free, and a farmyard area where you can pet and feed the animals. It's also possible to feed some of the zebra, reindeer and other specimens. There are meerkats, otters, penguins, a buck-toothed alpaca and a rather angry looking but friendly camel.

We all had a great time, and the cost of this zoo is considerably cheaper than many others. It isn't on as large a scale even as London Zoo (itself quite compact) so there's less walking around than the bigger zoos. Attempts have been made to make a better viewing experience with glass rather than bars, or raised walkways where you can look down on the animals.

All in all recommended for everyone. I am certain kids would enjoy feeding the more friendly animals while all will appreciate the majesty of the big cats, cuteness of the meerkats. We didn't try any of the food outlets. Toilets were a bit basic in portakabins but clean and functional.

This weekend, we visited Paradise Wildlife Park and it was mind blowing. Lynn at the park put everything in place to make sure we were both very looked after… with Emily and the Marketing busy also making us feel at home. We were taken on a tour of the zoo, and a very knowledgeable, friendly and professional man called Callum was our guide. This is where it got incredible: We were shown into a Lemur enclosure and Steve explained that we would be feeding a whole family of Lemurs with them jumping all over us, playing with our hair - they love the blueberries over the other veg! (same as us, we wouldn't go for lettuce over chocolate) After that we shown some other primates then walked past some of the park's big cats before being led to the Snow Leopard enclosure where Carrie helped us feed them, now if you haven't ever seen one up close, especially in a moment like this, it is an UNBELIEVABLE experience! We were then shown the parks other animals, including Reptiles, an Aligator, tarantulas, an Armadillo, the world's smallest monkey… so much to do and see and the guys that work there know EVERYTHING. I couldn't recommend this place enough. If you like wildlife an want more of a hands on - interactive visit than just seeing animals through some glass like at most other zoos then this is where you need to go!

We hadn't been on a family day out in a while and as dad had the day off work we decided to go on a family day out before the weather turned bad.

Our eldest who is 2 decided she wanted to see animals so we thought we'd try Paradise as we had not been before.

Driving in looked promising, price was a bit expensive but the norm. When we got in we were a bit confused where to go, start etc but figured it out.

My daughter wanted her face painted so we did that after looking at the first few farm animals to then be greeted by my 9 month old son being sick. So spent a while trying to clean him up however my daughter was happy with her face painting but it was£5!!

After this the day seemed to go a but more smoothly and we saw most of the animals etc.

Everything was good apart from when my son then had an upset stomach and I ended up using 2 different baby changing facilities in a short space of time and to my horror they were filthy. Looking like they have not been cleaned since they were put up. It wasn't just from people using it, it was dirt and grime build up from a long period if time.

Great day but very disappointed in cleanliness of some toilets and mainly the baby changing units.

Shadow a zoo keeper day was a gift from my sons for a milestone birthday. For this reason I can't say how much it costs, however, whatever it was, it was worth every penny and more. The whole experience was so impressive. Wear wellies n clothes you are not going to be upset about getting dirty because this is a hands on experience. Every member of staff I met greeted me with a warm smile, they were tireless in answering my questions and I have the utmost respect for the keepers who are so knowledgeable about the particular species we were interacting with and even more so about the individual animals in their care. I feel privelaged to have experienced mucking out the alpacas, taking a ferret for a walk , holding a python , feeding smaller mammals including the amazing lemas and flying an owl, the White tiger is so beautiful and up close and personal he is breathtaking. I apologise to the keepers whose charges I have missed, it wasn't that I didn't enjoy your animals, I'm embarrassed to say I can't remember the species. Don't be put off if you don't think you could hold a snake, or you don't like birds the keepers ask if you are happy to interact as every stage and I am truly confident if you would rather not then they would do something to ensure you had a great experience with something you are comfortable with. I spent the day without family or friends, and I think that made my experience all the better as I could just enjoy the experience , I was provided with a schedule for the day and each keeper took me to the next section or arranged for me to be met. The keepers allow you time to take photos and also take photos for you though I recommend take a camera as well as your iPhone as my phone battery died before the end of the day due to over use thankfully I had my camera. I am now looking to book a night stay probably in Kent on the big cat safari. Thank you Paradise Wild for a day I will never forget

Went yesterday,23rd Oct, my grand daughter's half term started a week earlier than most, place was empty! Have never seen such an array of animals, mostly nearer than ever been before.
Although some things were not open,( theatre show, face painting, some food outlets ), it still was a very enjoyable day out. Everything you needed was available - play areas, bouncy castle etc were deserted, no waiting anywhere. At times so alone we thought we might have been locked in. Suited us and our 6 year old g/daughter done to the ground. Would recommend.

We have visited Paradise many times before and always had a great time. This time we visited on bat night. The night was dedicated to learning about bats and raising money for a local bat sanctuary. It was only £5 for an adult to get in, and kids went free. Best value for money in a long time. For that we got a couple of hours in the zoo after hours, so basically the zoo was empty. The bat talk was fascinating and both my kids learned a lot. The bat walk was even better - my son loved using the bat detector and the look on his face when it went off, showing that the bats were nearby, was brilliant. Seeing the animals after dark was my favourite - the big cats were very active (normally we only see them snoozing in the day). We got to visit the bat house after dark and the bats were VERY active in there. So much that my wife refused to go in!! Paradise is a brilliant day out anyway, but seeing it after dark was a real experience that I will never forget.

Went on our anniversary weekend, get incredibly close to the animals and can even hand feed zebras and emus as well as a number of farm animals. Arrived early morning and wandered into the tiger and jaguar sleeping areas to find the amazing bi cats no more than 8 ft from us and giving us a nice welcome yawn!

I visited Paradise Wildlife Park in October 2014. Easy to find with plenty of free parking. Great value for money as you can spend the whole day at the park. I got the vouchers from Groupon so even better. I took my six year old son and he had a fab day. He wasn't much interested in the animals even though they have white tigers, white lions, red pandas and lots more. He had a brilliant time on the bouncy castle, bouncy slide, playground, riding on the pretend zebras in the discovery centre. And he really loved the go karts which at £1 a ride, I think were a bargain. We had coffee in the cafe whilst the tiger strolled by...wow. The food wasn't too expensive but if going with a large group, its probably best to take a picnic. Plenty of under cover shelter if its raining and we didn't even get to the indoor play area. The staff were all very friendly and helpful
Conclusions: A really wonderful day out and we will definitely visit again.
Not really much to do for older children.

Plenty to see and do here. An excellent day out for kiddies and adults of all ages. The animals, mammals and reptiles are all incredible, and well loved and looked after by a team of dedicated keepers with a passion for animal welfare and conservation. If I was one of the many species on the brink of extinction like so many of these beautiful creatures, Paradise Wildlife Park is where I'd like to spend my days, ensuring that there may be some hope for my future. Please go to as many of the talks as you can. Get up close and personal with as many keepers and animals as you can, ask as many questions as you can. You may be shocked at some of the answers. We humans have a lot to learn. Maybe your children and grandchildren will be the ones that make a difference? Look out for Ian to tell you all about the big cats, and be sure to visit Tom in the reptile house, he may even allow you to stroke a snake, and I promise you'll be in awe of the gigantic anacondas.....the largest snakes on this planet.......and certainly in Broxbourne.

First time to Paradise Wildlife Park and wasn't too sure on what to expect. Some of the enclosures are a bit on the small side, but that then lets you see the animals properly and they all seemed to be happy and in good spirits. The Lions were on a rock hill right in front of the raised walkway and if they weren't happy, then they would have been in the rear of the enclosure well away from public eyes. We were treated to the male Lion roaring right in front of us, what a treat that was!

We ate in one of the restaurants and the food was of an average price for an attraction like this, however the Steak Burger that we had was excellent and highly recommended!

The only downside for us was the amusement park, which seemed to take up half the area, I don't see the need for this, but hey ho, if it brings in more visitors and helps fund the animal welfare, then so be it.

I visied yesterday and enjoyed the day very much. The big cat enclosure is very good and the keepers all seemed very passionate about their animals . The tapir enclosure was particularly good fun and happened to stumble across teds feeding time and a very lovely keeper gave us a talk on him.
Will definitely go back for another visit.

I visited Paradise with a friend on the 29th of September... We went as we had heard lots and lots of 'interesting' reviews of the place. Overall, I enjoyed myself but I did find the attraction quite bizarre. It seems to be half low-end amusement park and half a zoo, not quite able to make it's mind up which.

There are lots of animals in a relatively small space, but most of the enclosures appeared to be well designed, well maintained and species appropriate. However, animal welfare doesn't seem to be top priority... I was under the impression that it is a legal requirement for all zoo animals to have an 'off show', private space that they can retire to if they choose to - however at Paradise, this doesn't seem to be the case. Even the inside houses have large viewing windows or bars, giving the animals no reprieve from the public. it also appears that security is really rather lax! In terms of both animal and visitor safety. There are almost no stand-off fences around any of the enclosures, which means people can get dangerously close to some of the animals, including the Zebras (which would give a nasty bite or kick!) The lemurs too, can reach through the bars and touch you! We also came across an enclosure with Reindeer in which had an open padlock!

All of that said, I did really enjoy the fact that there were lots of great informative boards around the zoo, detailing not only facts about the animals but also current conservation issues. They had a very wide, interesting collection of animals that were clearly well cared for and in good condition.

Over all, a very very strange place. It's almost like stepping back in time to the 90's... rather dated, not unpleasant, just bizarre.

On arrival, it was very organised. I thought the entrance fee was a little pricey at £38 for 2 ?
All the animals looked well looked after and the enclosures were very clean.
However I do think some of the enclosures were very small in particular the big cats, especially the lions. There wasn't enough room for the whole pride to have room to roam. Also the birds seem to be in small cages and the info on 1 bird was they were a very social bird and loved being with other birds , however he was on his own ?? Its a great day out for the kids to enjoy with the animals, and all the amusements there. I just hope that with the improvements they are making that they consider the comments that the public are saying. MORE Space for the animals.

Husband and I visited Paradise Park in Sept 2014. We have visited many a zoo/animal park in England and this one wasn't great.
I felt that a lot of the animal enclosures were very small and cramped, especially the lions, leopards and ocelots. They were clean, tidy and the animals seemed well fed though.
The over-head walkways were good view points.
There is a lot of maintenance work going on there at the moment so some of the exhibits were unavailable or in temporary enclosures.
This place is best suited to families with children as there are a lot of extra things to do besides see some animals (eg. splash pool, park areas, mini golf, education classrooms).
We're glad we used tesco clubcard vouchers to pay for this visit as £19 per adult is very expensive.
I doubt we'll return, unless we have children in the future!

We went as a big group with children aged from 2 to 13 and we had a fantastic day!
There's so much to do, the animals were brilliant from the lions and tigers (they were so close!) to the penguins and even a sloth! Yes you have to pay £1 per person to go on a train ride but how cheap is that?! There are parks and soft play, literally something to do at all times, we walked round the animals twice and saw the birds of paradise show. We took a picnic as we always do when we go out for the day as it's cheaper, the ice creams were quite pricey but there are in places like that. If you've got young kids it's a wonderful pace to go and we will be going back!
