I regularly visit the pub at lunchtime and find the staff friendly. I do like the changing selection of real ales. It is the quiet retreat during a busy day.

Whenever I come into Hitchin I always have lunch at The Victoria and at weekends if I have friends round I always take them to the Vic for a meal. The food is great, the service fantastic, fast and very friendly. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

The Victoria is the perfect place for a drink with friends! Its got a great atmosphere howwever, it doesnt have music booming out so you can actually have a conversation! And get a seat most of the time. its a great regulars pub but its not 'clichy' and they always have events on which gives you a reason to go and attracts new people too.
