Stepping into 'The Victoria' is like what I imagine it must have felt like to step inside the 'Cheers' bar from the 80s TV series - everybody knows your name!! It might not have Ted Danson behind the bar but Holly and Nathan's hearty welcome each visit have made 'The Victoria' my Sunday Roast "local" even though I live on the other side of town! There's always an array of characters in there - on my last visit a retired jockey was sitting at the bar with his pint of bitter!

Was there last night. Some of my favourite people in Hitchin hang out there, and, growing up on Fishponds Road, I wish I spent more time in there as a kid really.
Hoegaarden was very good, the real ale is Green King stuff, but very well kept, and they do food and music very nicely.

I recently celebrated my 40th Birthday at the Victoria Pub and what a lovely night to remember . The Barn in the car park was ideal to have a disco and lay on food and have a little dance. Victoria the landlady was very accommodating and made all my guests feel really welcome . It has a great warm and welcoming atmosphere and I would recommend this pub to anyone. Thanks Victoria, Joanne

The Victoria is the definition of the perfect local pub - it's staff are helpful and friendly, the surroundings are warm and comfortable and there are even a couple of locals always propping up the bar!
However, the atmosphere they have created is fantastic and there are always brilliant events on to tempt you in!
The recent Accoustic nights in particular have been fantastic!
