Fantastic memorial, pays tribute to so many. However, there is no memorial (that we could find), that pays tribute to British Armed Forces who served on Operation Banner. This Operation lasted some thirty years and yer all we found was a small, and tucked away, memorial to N.Ireland which commemorates the RUC and UDR. Why nothing for our fallen British Army, Royal Navy and Royal Air force? Disappointed

This is a fascinating place, humbling in many ways. Touching stories and fantastic statues. Good pathways to get around and buggys to assist those who need assistance. The restaurant is well stocked with hot and cold food and reasonably priced. Good facilities and an interesting shop with a range of gifts, books and memorabilia.
Fantastic place to visit for people of all ages. Super team of volunteers are on hand to help, nothing is too much trouble and they are passionate about the NMA.

This was a very moving place to see. Brings it home the sacrifice of the armed forces and numerous civilian groups and individuals gave for the people and this country, as well as the greater good of the free world. All these famous regiments, branches of the RAF, merchant and royal navies and our allies. Very humbled. P.S. only draw back no guide books in giftshop to purchase.. got 1 from an auction site Wish I'd bought before I went...

My wife and I visit this amazing place 4 or 5 times a year to walk around and reflect, on our recent visit Sunday 13th November 2022 for Remembrance Day, my wife lost a necklace, not realising till we got home to Whitburn, West Lothian, we contacted the Arboretum on Monday and detailed what had been lost, within an hour Kirsty phoned back to tell us it had been handed in and said she would ensure it was posted to us, we decided to drive back down on Tuesday 15th to collect it which gave us an excuse (if one was needed) to visit again, on arrival we found that all the staff at the information desk knew who we were (great communication) we would like to thank all the staff on the information desk for there kindness and all the staff at the Arboretum for all they do to make any visit fantastic, we know a member of staff found the necklace and we’d especially like to thank him/ her (sorry we don’t know yet what member of staff found it)

Thank you so much

A very peaceful environment, clean and perfect to reflect and remember. Staff are very helpful, especially when trying to locate comrades and friends. Cafe is nice as well as the shop for gifts. Try to go every year and it never gets boring. Definitely one for school or group trips. Totally recommend to go and visit.

Dog-friendliness: Dogs are welcome but have to be on a lead and any mess cleaned up

We only expected to stop by for an hour but stayed all day and still didn't see everything. All of the talks were especially interesting. Excellent car parking, toilets and catering.

We visited as 2 couples and arranged a private tour with a guide on a golf buggy. The tour started at 10.30 and we first went to the Chapel to observe the 2 minutes silence, one of only 2 places in the UK that does this every single day. After that our guide Mick Byrne, took us on our tour. Micks knowledge and humorous delivery were outstanding. He had many detailed stories to impart and with a buggy for you can cover so much more of the 150 acre site than you could ever do on foot.

We stopped for lunch which although included in the cost, was underwhelming. Leigh in the restaurant looked after us very well, but the menu choice was different to the general menu and although nicely prepared was a little bland.

Mick collected us after lunch and our tour continued. It included the display called Shot at Dawn - very poignant.

The tour ended at 4.30 and we were almost the last people in the park.

At £175,it was not cheap, but so worth it. The volunteers are all fantastic and although have to do lots of research themselves, the Arboretum vets everyone and to pass as a guide, you need to complete many modules, so it ensures only the best.

I can't recommend it enough and would thoroughly recommend getting Mick!

We visited on 12th November - one day before Remembrance Sunday.

It was both a happy and sad visit but I can honestly say we had a fabulous time.

The site was well maintained and all of the monuments were beautifully presented.

We remembered parents and grandparents who made the ultimate sacrifice but we were glad to remember them again.

The people working there could not have been friendlier or more helpful. We hired a mobility scooter and we also went on the Land Train - which is well worth the trip going round the arboretum.

The food and dining facilities were excellent and the food was all home made. Everywhere was very clean.

The gift shop was one of the best I have been in with some very tasteful gifts.

We will most definitely go again and I cannot recommend this too highly.

Please remember and please enjoy.
