A great place to visit but have comfortable shoes as a lot of walking is involved but we'll worth it.

A really moving experience. The park, arboretum and memorials are very well laid out. Our volunteer guide was knowledgeable and a great communicator. The tea rooms are well stocked and reasonably priced.

Been before but wanted to return to see the police memorial which was being built when I last came.love how peaceful it is and how every visit you find something new to see or read. I actually like that you wander at your own pace with some signposts but not every corner telling you where to go. I feel that adds to you not feeling you constantly have to check a map but can wander along the green spaces
I have to say sadly as an ex officer I found the new police memorial a little plain and uninspiring compared to others on the site. I love the beat wall and the modern sculptures but felt this one just didn’t say “policing” to me -however it’s lovely we have a space to pay respects to those fallen - I also loved the new ptsd model you could hold hands with
A place everyone should visit - so well kept (your gardening team and staff are awesome!) for ÂŁ4 car parking it is a lovely few hours out and such a good way to teach children history as lots to see and understand through sculpture

Fitting tribute to the many killed in the service of their country since the Second World War.

Well laid out over an extensive site.

There is a land train for those not able to explore on their own, plus numerous talks/tours.

If you're looking for a particular memorial, you can print out a map showing its location (or staff will help you). This is a big site so be prepared for some exploring !!

(Bit disappointing that the official guide book has not been updated for several years, thus misses out new memorials)

Excellent. Would have liked a pamphlet or handout about new things not in the guide book.

Such a beautiful place. Statues and memorials dedicated to people who served. Staff were lovely and there was a lot around if you wanted to ask questions or just to talk. They gave the impression they enjoyed being there. Beautiful walks. The Church in the grounds was amazing, well worth a look around.
Sadly the day went too quick so another visit is on the cards.
I would 100% recommend this

I have played Last Post here many times over the years, but never actually walked around viewing other parts of the grounds. In well over 4 hrs, we only managed to see about a third. Will be going back to see the rest at some point in the future.

Just amazing. All memorials are so well thought out. Very emotional. Benches are put around the arboretum for reflection and remembering. I cannot recommend this highly enough. It’s free entry but personally I think they should charge a small entrance fee. We went on the land train with commentary - very interesting and our driver was great.
If you are in the area do visit - you’ll need a good few hours to wander around and take it all in.
The restaurant is ok - probably wouldn’t eat there again - sandwiches were very dry - but we didn’t have any hot food which looked good.

Impromptu, unplanned and all too brief visit to this serene and beautifully thoughtful few acres of important memories. We called for a coffee and lost ourselves for a few hours. Everyone needs to go here at least once, to pause and reflect on sacrifices made and family lost.

Top line , free entry but a six pound parking charge. However we thoroughly enjoyed the walk around the park looking at the individual war remorials . The sculptures were fantastic , but we found it too much to take in and resorted to just enjoyed walking around the grounds with the dogs. The dogs are allowed but not on the monuments which was a little frustrating especially when there was so much bird poo in places the size of a medium dogs all over.
Well worth the visit especially on a lovely day.

A fantastic place to remember all the different forces, emergency servicesand civilian organisations - there are a lot more than you realise!
My sister, a friend and I started with tea and cake (of course) in the large, clean, well stocked and friendly cafe/ restaurant. Then we went to the gift shop, which is filled with memorabilia for young and old alike, whilst waiting for our time slot on the land rail.
The land rail, like old railway carriages was driven by a lovely friendly happy lady who we had a few laughs with . There was guided commentary from a prerecorded source, pointing out various monuments. Very informative and interesting.
For the rest of our day we walked around most of the 150 acres and saw many more memorials.
We also went into the Chapel (which is a lovely quiet place) for reflection

All the staff/guides, of which there are many, are very polite, approachable and helpful. They also are well informed as to where things are situated.
The Arboretum does not charge an entry fee, however there are boxes inside the building for those who would like to give a voluntary donation.
You do need to pay for the car park, a welcome bonus is that you can book to park for a reduced fee.
