A lovely place to visit, it has the lake a very nice coffee shop and a lots of walking to do with a fair bit of stuff for the kids to play on, go on a nice sunny day and take a picnic and you will have a very ice enjoyable day out. With no cost at all if you avoid the cafe which normally houses some thing of local interest so worth a visit. Nice clean toilets so all good dependant on the weather. the also have the local running club in attendance most if not all weekends so you can go and support the o
locals as well . All good. Only real down side is that parking can be an issue as their are limited parking inside and terrible on the out side unless you park on the Broadway and enter the part from there.

Had a great day today at the arboretum, parked on the car park then had a leisurely walk through the park down to the lake, lovely scenery and plenty of space for the dog and child (!) to run free! Had a walk around the lake and discovered Lakeside 2019 was on, an event with bands playing popular hits, the council workers were handing out chairs to sit on so we had an hour there...really chilled good atmosphere! Later on took my son to the big play park area which he enjoyed then onto the splash pad which looked like great fun! Walked back through the arboretum and finished off with half hour of football on the top field (goalposts provided!) Will be a more frequent visitor to this lovely place from now on..great iday out and only spent £5! (Ice cream man!) Absolute gem.

Walsall arboretum covers a large area near the town centre with a variety of trees, plants and wildlife, with a range of walks. There is a well equipped children's play area. There is also a skateboard area, tennis courts and a bowling green. There is a nice cafe close to the lake and a fairly extensive parking area free of charge. It is a lovely place to visit and offers opportunities for exercise and a welcome change of scenery.

Visited today with my young son and my parents- so 3 generations of the family.

We were pleasantly surprised with the facilities at the park. It’s very child friendly with softer surfaces under the swings etc. The different sizes of play equipment meant there were so many children out and enjoying the outdoors.
Everywhere was really clean and tidy and we were heartened to see a man litter picking as well.

The Splash zone looked amazing! I only regret that we didn’t know it was there so hadn’t bought appropriate clothes for my son.

We spent time in the cafe and had some lovely lunch, with tasty food and speedy service. All credit to the staff who were very friendly.

Finally we had a walk by the lakes and spent time watching the ducks on the observation platforms.

What a beautiful place, with so much to offer. We will be back.

We love coming to the arboretum, we come rock hunting and to have half an hour on the park, the vine weed needs getting under control it’s starting to take over in places and the bandstand needs regular monitoring as it’s been full of cans and bottles a few times recently

The Arboretum has a lake and a pool left over I understand from lime mining. Pedalos in the shape of swans are available on the lake to hire.
If you like trees and well tended gardens then this is the place to visit. This is my first visit since leaving Walsall 10 years ago and I see now that the old greenhouse has been replaced by a cafe. I have not been in but it appears well used which is always a good sign. It has a water play area in the old lido, again appears to be new equipment since my last visit. Well done to the park keepers, keep up the good work.

Walsall Arboretum has it all, you can park for free at the very top gates & walk through the park & down to the lake to see the ducks & swans. There is a lovely coffee/tea shop in the visitor center & the grounds are kept immaculate, it's lovely to walk through and not see litter. There's a safe play area for children to enjoy the swings & slides and ropes and water sprinklers & plenty of grass area's to sit & enjoy a picnic. There is a new modern band stand with several events arranged throughout the year, well worth a visit & within easy access to Walsall Town center

We go walking around the Walsall Aboretum every week end come rain or shine and it’s the most relaxing beautiful place, it’s spotlessly clean and maintained to the high standards.
We as a family would be totally lost if we did not have the place to go to , where you can talk , laugh and ponder about live and it’s challenges, it’s simply heaven on earth.
If you have never visited please add this to your “ bucket” list and you will definitely be pleased and return.

Splash park is clean and well maintained and so is the park. The only issue we had was struggling to park near the splash park if you intend on staying for longer than an hour.

Gets very busy in the summer holidays. We got there for when the splash pad opened at 11 and it was already busy, but got busier later on in the afternoon. Fun for the children, kept them cool in the hot weather. There was a huge queue for the ice cream van, could do with more than one. The carpark was free, so that was good.

walsall is so very lucky to have this magnificent open space - it’s really well looked after by the team - not so much by the weekend users

it’s outer paths give just over 2 miles all the way round of mostly flat paths - ideal for running / walking

also has kids play area, basketball/ football & tennis courts
tennis is free to book if you want it

small cafe area with terrace

also often has fairs or similar

Beautiful place to take our dogs , shame people still don't keep their dogs on a lead . Yes Your dog might be ok but what if ours aren't ? . Took 45mins for our lunch order at the cafe just jacket potato , chips and childs nuggets then it was given to someone else and a little pricey . Next time I'll bring a picnic . It was nice to see the facilities been used ; splash pad with life guard, play area and exercise equipment . Over all a really pleasant day . Really well kept . Lovely wildlife , makes a change to see alternative duck food sold instead of just moaning about feeding them bread . Shame there is no toilets by the carpark as I was bosting when I got there and had to wait until I had walked half way through the park and then found that the mobile loo had no loo roll or water in to flush . Nice to see free carparking and flat surfaces should my dad want to visit on his mobilty scooter .I would recommend a visit.

Beautiful setting for a lazy Sunday afternoon picnic in the sun.

With the exception of the litter (not that much but still too much) the grounds are gorgeous. Kids enjoyed riding their bikes around and everyone seemed pleasant and happy.

As it was a nice day the kids stripped off and went in the water pool on the park. They loved it.

Visit in spring or autumn to see the wonderful colours of the trees and plants. It is a lovely space with well maintained grounds. Nice for families to come and enjoy the park. Tennis courts available. We like to go for a little walk around the lake and there is a nice coffee shop in the grounds. There is a small childrens park and water area for summer fun. Pity they no longer do the lights which were as good as the ones in Blackpool. I heard that the council are considering closing this facility which would be a tragedy as it is the only nice thing in Walsall! Let's hope they don't.

We visit the Arboretum regularly since it has been refurbished with a cafe and toilets in the visitor centre. Its a lovely park to walk round not just the lake but the extension as well. You see lots of dog walkers and the childrens play area is always busy. The skate park is well attended too. The tennis courts are free which is rare. Its nice to
take a picnic and chill but the food in the cafe is lovely too. Love the swan boats on the lake.

Very well kept example of what can be done with town centre parkland. Great play areas, skatepark and outdoor gym. Beautifully landscaped and interesting park. Cafe could be better

I am a 45 year old that has rode, run or walked most parks, canals, trails and areas in the midlands yet somehow never visited the walsall arboretum . Today i popped up with my wife and boy for the weekly parkrun and was blown away.. With cutbacks by most councils and districts NOTHING compares to the beauty and cleanliness of this place. Skate parks, play areas, boating lakes with big swans on, niche gardens with memorial plaques everywhere.. the place has interest everywhere you look. I am embarrassed to have never been here before and may i add its the most friendly parkrun i have ever been to other than Dudley who equals it.. The place is amazing and i cant wait to return to explore it with more time on our hands. Well done and thank you walsall council and local parkrun volunteers.
