I am new to Trip advisor, but have stayed in this Hotel a few times now, both pre the transition from the De Vere group and now this week since they became independent. I must say the staff are always really friendly and helpful. Although the rooms are not brand new, I dont tend to spend much time in them when away from home so a good nights sleep is most important and got that and I'm sure some investment is planned with the new regime. The other areas with immediate impact can be seen with the changes that are happening with food being clearly evident and I am excited to come back in a few months to see what further changes have been made.

I would definitely recommend this Hotel for both business and pleasure it is such a unique place to stay and great base for exploring the local area with easy access to the motorway network!!

Our company has not decided on its Christmas party yet and the offering here looks good so may even recommend this as great to go somewhere where you can easily get to your oom afterwards without the inconvenience of taxis/transport!!

Stayed at this hotel for the first time last week while visiting family - WOW what a hidden treasure... hotels attached to a venue are not usually great, but this place has changed my mind. Staff very friendly, and hotel is very bright and airy. Bedroom very clean. Definitely will stay again when next in area.

Upon arrival I was told by reception that we had not yet paid and wanting me to pay AGAIN despite me showing them a printed receipt from Hotels.com which clearly stated paid in full???? So I ended up having to call hotels.com to clear up this issue which was the result of the reception staff not reading their computer correctly? The hotel itself was clean and very nice. The room was basic but had all that we required although I was surprised at the large old style TVs. We stayed for just one night as we had been to a family party which we came home early hours of the morning so you can imagine how very annoyed I was to be woken up by the fire alarm going off above my bed which apparently was caused by someone in another room using hair spray in the bedroom???? Apparently this set the alarms off in all rooms!! I called reception to see what was going on and they explained the situation and basically said out of their control?? All in all a very disappointing stay and I will not be visiting again sorry but not impressed with our first visit to the De Vere Whites hotel in Bolton

We arrived late - after midnight - following an event in the area and were pleased a room was available. The receptionist was extremely friendly and helpful, a credit to the hotel. We were shown to our room which although dated seemed quite nice having been upgraded to a pitch view.

We ordered room service (two pizzas) which were all that were on offer. The food was terrible!! The memeber of staff who brought it to the room again friendly and polite - again a credit to the hotel.

The air conditioning was broken - there was a free standing heater and a fan which we had to have on all night (noisy therefore restless sleep) as we were pitch side we couldn't open a window so the room was hot and stuffy and we had a terrible nights sleep. When I wanted to fill out the complaint form there was no pen available.

Breakfast was good. The food was fresh and hot and was being constantly replaced. The staff on hand again were exceptional and more than happy to help.

Upon check out the receptionist was lovely and couldn't have been more helpful.

Its such a shame that the hotel did not meet up to the standards of the staff. We both said that we would have much preferred a night at the premier inn over the road as at least they guarantee a good nights sleep.

Wouldn't stay here again.

Had a meeting in the afternoon, arrived by train, a short 5 minute walk to the hotel, part of the Bolton Wanderers FC
Pleasant evening, though the TV's could do with an upgrade - the following morning attended a conference, excellent views of the ground, quite a pleasant experience. Immaculately clean, excellent service and a reasonable rate. Would most definitely stay again.

I was a little apprehensive at the thought of the hotel being in a stadium but was really surprised. It was lovely, the pool area was very pleasant, the bar too and the rooms very nice, nothing out of the ordinary, but still nice. My only fault was the rooms needed some kind of adjustable air conditioning as they were a bit warm but if you opened the windows you could hear the late nighters coming in (loud and noisy)

Nice Swimming Pool, Free Parking, Good Access To Shops & Restaurants.

Only negative is that they have very old CRT TV's in the room and aerial reception can be poor depending on what channels you are viewing.

Lovely pool and jacuzzi. Steam room was nice too. Bar food quite good but restaurant too pricey. We were upgraded for free to a room overlooking the pitch which was amazing. A lovely gesture by really nice receptionists.

We stayed as a family of four at this hotel on a recent friday night.
The customer service was excellent.
I had booked a twin room for the teenagers and the penthouse suite for my husband and I.
They were out of twin rooms by the time we checked in, which was quite late.
So they gave the kids their own rooms. (They really couldn't share a double bed...)
That's what should happen, but I was amazed and impressed it did without any prodding or moaning. The front desk guy who was on duty was really great.
After we got home, I realised we were without an Ipad. I wasn't' sure where we hd lost it. We were lots of places.
I called and spoke to a woman in housekeeping, who had the device in safe keeping.
She is now packing it up to post back to us. Very helpful, and very relieved they had found it.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone. And we will stay here the next time we are in Bolton.

I stayed here recently for one week as I was on a course. The room was lovely, clean, with nice tea/coffee making facilities. Hairdrier in drawer, ironing equipment, it had everything really.
Towels changed daily, bed made/sheets changed daily. Bed was comfortable. The food was a little repetitive if you stay for a week, ok if it is for one night. Two restaurants, very nice food, but was running out of different things to eat, a little fed up being faced with the same menu night after night. Was told by the waitress that it only gets changed every few months. But once again, great if you only stay for one or two nights.
All in a very nice place to stay, with a good gym and pool.
My only complaint is that i was charged a totally different price each night for the same drink, I didnt know until i got my bill at the end. I had half a glass of beer each night and was charged from £1.70 to £3.55, all different prices for five nights. I didnt bother saying anything as i was in a rush to leave.
Staff were very friendly, and very helpful with everything.
Recommended.

Great location being situated next to motorways and a large retail park next door. Hotel rooms are average. Can get very busy and may have to wait to get into the car park during match times, as the hotel is attached to the stadium. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is excellent and breakfast staff provide great service. All in all a comfortable stay.

On entry to hotel, it was clean and staff friendly, we ate in the restaraunt with veiw of stadium (book) the meal was beautiful, and we really enjoyed, and the staff have to be the most friendliest we have experienced. The room was slightly basic, but, we did very much enjoy it, and was ever so clean. The pool was disapointing, and bit closed in, but we enjoyed nether the less. I would definatly stay again. was just a nice break. noise from front of building was irratating so request a room away from entrance

Just back from a 3 night stay at De Vere Whites in Bolton . Lovely ensuite rooms , Very good reception staff & a huge car park which guarantees you will get a space ( even when Bolton Wanderers have a home match - hotel attached to Reebok Stadium ) . Cannot comment on meals as never had any there. Would have given 5/5 but for the fact that during my stay they changed power companies & the electricity went out or approx. 1 hour. I wasn't told this would happen & was in the shower at the time when the lights went out. Also with the lift out of action & no ( easy to find stairs on the 4th floor ) , I got badly lost by going down the wrong set of stairs & ended up somewhere inside the football ground. Luckily there was a workman around who guided back to reception albeit through a no entry area , so no idea how I would have got out without him. Did not spoil the stay though & sure to return.

Stayed here many times and will still stay again. Hotel always clean, food and drink prices fair for a hotel. excellent breakfast as usual. Hotel staff always helpfull.
Downside, My wife makes use of the hotel pool each time we visit. The check out morning she was swimming and would leave at 11 check out time. However this time there was an aerobic or swimming class due to start at 11. My wife was told to "GET OUT!" immediately by a very abrupt and surly instructor. My wife has no problems with leaving the pool especially as the class will most likely have paid to attend this session. Who ever takes the classes need to get a grip of thier instructors. On complaining to the desk staff we were yold that the instructor is not employed by the hotel and this is a new instructor and than normally it may have been possible to even join the class. A great weeken spoiled!

We have previously stayed at the De Vere White.
On this occasion, we spent three nights in this pleasant hotel. Located in the Reebok Stadium, in walking distance to the Middlebrook Retail Park.
The room was very clean, the staff pleasant and helpful. Excellent for comfort and value.

Stayed here 290813. The hotel is quite impressive when you walk in. The reception area was spotless check very smooth. The leisure facilities need updating though. The restaurant area overlooked the football pitch which my son loved. The bar area was nice. The room w hich we stayed in had an old box tele not what i expected. But was nice and clean. Location for bars and eateries was perfect.

We stayed for a second time this year and i must admit that standards of service were vastly improved. We had a very comfortable stay in all regards, much more akin to the 4 star standards we would expect. Thank you very much for looking after us and i look forward to staying with you again later this year.

Nice hotel, rooms are a little dated but comfortable, my room on the 2nd floor was a bit noisy as I had the window open because it was a warm night. Rooms don't have air conditioning. Breakfast was good with a good selection of hot and cold food. I would stay again but request a room away from the front of the hotel.

Stayed here for football trip though not for Bolton.Found it very comfortable.clean and value for money. Our room was not at all dated as recent reviewer stated. We had a room at the front of he hotel and it was very quiet. The only thing I would update was the pool.sauna, steam room.Perhaps a little small for such a large hotel, but this was not a problem.Check in/out vey good. Will most definitely be staying again, but hopefully the prices won't be going up once it has been taken over.

Well located with plentiful onsite parking available. Easy access to various major highways and within an easy commute to Bolton town centre. Check in and check out was quick and efficiently managed by reception staff. Room was spacious and comfortable with clean and modern facilities. Breakfast comprised a broad range of self-serve options and staff were friendly and helpful.

Firstly great check in done in no time, hotel expressive with views over pitch, however rooms very dated, need updating, very noisy at night outside and inside hotel would have a different room if I stayed here again.

I had high expectations after seeing the quality of the hotel general areas but was very disappointed when we entered our standard room. It had a very tired feel and looked like something you would expect from a cheap Travelodge rather then a 4 star hotel. It had an old CRT TV (I haven't seen one of those in a hotel for ages) and the remote had been used so much that you couldn't tell what the buttons did anymore. The room was very hot despite the window being open and it didn't have air conditioning. I raised my concerns with reception who informed me that they had just been taken over and that all the rooms were due to be renovated. After a bit of discussion they did offer to upgrade us to a pitch view room. The new room was a bit better, it had air-con, but it was still fairly tired.

We had planned to eat breakfast at the hotel since we were told it was £7.50 each when we checked but when we turned up and I checked it was £10.50. Apparently it was only £7.50 if you pre-booked, it was a shame they didn't tell us this when we checked in.

The Spa was fairly good. It looked a bit dated but everything worked well and the pool was big enough to swim a few lengths in.

The service provided by the staff was variable. Some were excellent and very helpful whereas others were fairly dismissive.

I stayed here over a football weekend. The hotel is attached to the Reebook Stadium and I was very lucky to have had a pitchview room though watched the match from the stadium itself. My stay couldn't have been better. The staff were extremely friendly and nothing seemed too much trouble.Room was very comfortable and very clean. The breakfast was superb and drinks very reasonably priced. The retail park is a very short walk from the hotel and has plenty of food and drink outlets too.
Took advantage of the leisure facilities on Sunday morning and the pool was very quiet and the spa area and changing room very clean. I would certainly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay again.
