I haven't visited for a while, but it is a beautiful little theatre. The seating can be changed so it can be in the round or on 3 sides or just from the front. You are close to the performers so it feels quite intimate. There is a bar and restaurant. It is being renovated at the moment. Can't wait to see new look and to just enjoy another production.

Went to see Summer Holiday last night at the Octagon. Interesting concept of having the play in different locations around the town. Wasn’t sure how that was going to work but have to admit it was brilliant! From the initial location of bus station where we were immediately encouraged to join in the singing, to the ride on the decorated buses, the town hall and finally to the theatre - amazing. The energy, enthusiasm, musicality and professionalism of all the cast is to be applauded as well as the team of organisers who ferried us from place to place without feeling like there was a break from the experience. Be prepared for lots of audience participation. Highly recommend!

Wonderful to keep pantomimes and entertainment fit for the family. Hexagon is simalire to the crucible both used for snooker.
Now musicals, plays , ballet and comedy fill the stage now. Banked seating all round with a central stage.

We went to see summer holiday at octagon.play started at bolton bus station all ticket holders got on a bus which went through bolton town and drove to octagon theatre.show was fantastic.all local actors were brilliant.theater it self was good.but unfortunately now it’s closed for a year or so for refurbishment.
