Excellent evening. Watched production of Summer Holiday Musical. Started at the Bus Station and then went by bus to the Theatre via the Town Square for the rest of the show. Well organised and very well performed.

Wonderful to keep pantomimes and entertainment fit for the family. Hexagon is simalire to the crucible both used for snooker.
Now musicals, plays , ballet and comedy fill the stage now. Banked seating all round with a central stage.

In the summer I went to see the last production "Summer Holiday" at the Octagon for a while. We began at the bus station, caught the busses and were transferred to Victoria Square for the next scenes and finally we walked into the Octagon. Very imaginative and in keeping with the show. The performance was top quality and we left feeling very festive and happy. The Octagon has now closed for a total revamp and I look forward to visiting again when it reopens

Went to see "And did those feet" at the Stadium of Bolton by the cast of the Octagon - absolutely fantastic !!
A tough venue to play (while the Octagon is being refurbished) but they did a great job - Poignant just now as a central theme is the aftermath of the first world war and how the town football team's success in 1923 (the white horse final) helped heal some of the wounds from the family's that were left and look to the future .. Great job !!!!!!!! - Very well done !

And did those feet..... Have seen play before some years ago but enjoyed revisiting it. Everyone well cast in their roles. But particularly liked Martin Barass..... shouldn’t single one out should i? As they were all brilliant.

Worse part for me was the seating, i was wriggling after 2hrs even though i took my own cushion. I know its needs must during renovations so...

YOU MUST SEE THIS PRODUCTION - very emotive and managed to make me weep a few times which must have been because the actors brought the characters alive. Well done David Thacker in direction too.

I have watched several shows here over the years and always enjoy the performance. The tickets are reasonably priced too compared to other theatres which is great.

The Octagon is now closed for extensive rebuild/renovation (see later). Our visits there have always been highly satisfactory. Described as theatre in the round it makes you feel you are involved in the play. Even Arthur Millar's "The Crucible" had you on the edge of your seat. This summer we went to see " Summer Holiday" , part was played outside in front of the Town Hall and the rest indoors at the Octagon , the atmosphere inside electric (if you love sixties music).
The Octagon will not reopen until Autumn 2019 but they are producing shows at two other venues. Bolton W. football stadium plays "And Did Those Feet" (Oct,2018) and The Wonderful Wizard of Oz" (Dec 2018). Also the Albert Halls has "The Rise and Fall of Little Voice" (Feb 2019) and "The Importance of Being Earnest" (June 2019).

This was a fantastic performance as always. My grandaughter and my family all enjoyed it.It is a brilliant theatre with very good performers. They give opportunities to young and older actors. There are not many actors in the performance but what they give their all. Fantastic!!!! Highly recommended!!!!

Excellent theatre 🎭 who attract top actors every time. Now in it’s 51st year, the £10 million upgrade to will ensure it continues to compete with other world class theatre. Actors and audiences will be clamouring to return here.

My husband and I went to watch east is east here and it was a fantastic experience. Not only was the show a classic and brilliantly acted out, the staff at the theatre were also just as accommodating. Highly recommended

I had an amazing time. The food was lovely and was on time there was 30 people dining too. The lady that booked us in Amanda was lovely and allowed us to downsized is with no concerns. The front of house was also polite and the staff was also patient with such a large order. Thank you East is East.

Wonderful experience! The 1960s Cliff Richard movie recreated across 3 locations in Bolton Town Centre with a brilliant cast. From the first scenes at Bolton Intercange bus station, we were taken on a tour of the town centre, singing along to the well known tunes before alighting in front of the Town Hall for more songs and dances. From there we moved to the Octagon Theatre for the final acts of an enthralling show.
The whole experience of musical theatre in a town centre on a lovely sunny afternoon was one to cherish. Well done Octagon and a superb cast! Can we do another one next summer, please!

Since the Octagon opened 50 years ago, I had only been once as child. This year I have been introduced to the excellent productions of Jane Eyre and East is East. If you haven't already been to Bolton Octagon give it a try, I'm now a big fan.

Another great production from The Octagon Theatre, Summer Holiday was great fun. Again the cast were a group of very talented young people being able to sing, dance and play musical instruments. I would certainly recommend a visit .

I’m rating the show summer holiday which I went to see last night with Mum and sister. we had a fab night from the start at the bus station the bus ride and the scene outside in Victoria square. It was all well played throughout, and great audience participation was encouraged. The cast were very professional all through and very talented with various instruments played throughout the show. There was a great feeling that all the cast thoroughly enjoyed the parts they were playing ( with most of them playing different parts all the way through). Everyone was encouraged to dance at the end which was a fantastic end to a well enjoyed show.
