6 of us dined here on a Friday night for my wife's birthday, including my 4 and 7 year old kids and we had a lovely evening. In terms of service these guys were excellent. Brilliant with the kids, good fun, helped us with our Italian pronunciation and even gave us some tips on where to holiday on the Amalfi coast! Bought my wife a tiramisu for her birthday which was very kind.
In terms of the food, the pizza and the wine were also excellent and the portion sizes were 'molto grande'. The starters and non-pizza mains were good but not at the same level as the pizza. It was one of those meals where you wake up really hungry the next morning where you stretched your stomach out from overeating the night before! My takeaway from our experience here; great place to eat with kids, go there with an empty stomach, stick to the pizza, have a bottle or 2 of delicious and reasonably priced plonk and just enjoy the great service. We'll be back

Our first visit to the new location. Just as good as always. The best real pizza in Eastbourne. Home cooked food, just like Mama makes.

The first time we dined here was at their old location. We had a lovely lunch and thoroughly enjoyed the food and service. Today we thought we'd visit them in their new restaurant in Bolton Road... Wow! Even better than before! Greeted by the very friendly chef and seated in a cute little courtyard garden. The weather was on our side and it's a real sun trap, so if you like dining al fresco, you could well imagine you were in an Italian garden! Service was friendly, genuine and exactly what we'd hoped for... The previous time she had recommended honeymoon locations in Italy as we're getting married in Venice, and she remembered us and made us feel very special! We opted for the excellent value lunch menu, which was delicious... But such generous portions we had to bring some home to enjoy later!
Thoroughly recommend this lovely family fun restaurant, and can't wait to go back!

We visited this restaurant at their new location - just a week having moved, you would never have known it. The staff are really welcoming, very good with children, and full of information about the food. The waitress was clearly passionate about Neapolitan cuisine, and for good reason - our pizzas and salads were spot on and quickly served, the fried courgette deliciously simple. The service was attentive and fast, without being remotely rushed, and very glad we followed their advice to try the delicious homemade limoncello baba for pudding - YUM !

Having tried several restaurants during our stay in Eastbourne we stumbled across this one on our last night.. The menu is great and they offer all the pasta and pizzas in child portions, which is much better than a childs menu of fast food.
The pizzas we had were really good, straight from the pizza oven in the main dining area!Definitely would eat here next time we are in Eastbourne.

Our second visit to anema e core. Worth the journey from London to Eastbourne just to eat here. The new premises are amazing with an attractive outdoor terrace too a real Mediterranean feel. The staff are helpful friendly and attentive and the pizzas are truly authentic and absolutely divine. Many thanks for another fabulous evening. Looking forward to returning soon.

Spend just one night in Eastbourne on a last minute visit, where do you head to for dinner...?
Relying heavily on Trip Advisor we tracked Anema e core down to their new spacious, 8 Bolton Street address and were not disappointed.
Anema e core (...named after a popular 1950's Neapolitan tune) was a sheer delight, a small yet productive family run business, they gave us the warmest of welcomes and splendid menu suggestions as we enjoyed well trusted family recipes...Italian cuisine of an extremely high standard.
The meat and cheese sharing platter was a delight and the pasta was a triumph washed down by a lovely Sicilian red.
We highly recommend Anema e core and in Trip Advisor we trust!

Authentic Italian street food at its best, the same style and quality you would find in the best pizzerias around Napoli, I wish I lived in Eastbourne to visit this place every week!

Chosen specifically for being number 1 on Tripadvisor. I was in Eastbourne on my own for two nights. The decor and fit out are very simple but there was a nice, warm and friendly atmosphere. All staff were extremely friendly.
Prawn Cocktail to start with a twist, but mixed leaf with some bitterness and bland Marie Rose sauce left me a little disappointed. The family recipe for their tagliatelle bolognese was rich and with a fresh tangy tomato after taste but a little over salted.
Not bad, definitely good, but not excellent!

Had seen this restaurant on trip advisor and thought we would give it a go and must admit I was over the moon by the end of the meal that we had.
First things first, the restaurant has now moved from the address shown on trip advisor, it is now 8 Bolton Rd, Eastbourne, East Sussex, BN21 3JX.
Upon arriving we were shown to our tables and menus given. Drinks orders soon followed and we were left to peruse the menu. After a few minutes our orders were taken.
First the starters were to die for, my daughters mains were brought out with the starters so she didn't have to wait an age for us to finish. She said her pizza was the best she had ever eaten. I had olives and cheese fans my wife had cheese garlic bread, all of which was stunning.
Mains came after we had finished starters but at no time did we feel rushed, the staff were available without being to over the top. I had calzone which could of fed 3!! And my wife had lasagne which again was a generous portion.
We visit Eastbourne every year and we will be returning again and again and again. All in all can't recommend this restaurant enough.

We had lunch here on bank holiday Monday and having found this friendly Italian restaurant with authentic Italian food we will certainly be back!
We had a delicious 'O sole mio' pizza with side salads and a Peroni. The service was excellent and everyone in the pizzeria was very friendly and welcoming. Although the weather was not at its best we like to sit in the garden, which was pleasant and sheltered from the breeze. We also saw how fresh the herbs are when the chef/owner came out to cut some mint and fennel!Complimenti a tutti alla pizzeria Anema e Core e ci vediamo presto!

I visited this restaurant while in Eastbourne for a conference, just a couple of days before they moved and despite them having two parties due in was welcomed as a solo diner. The pizza was wonderful, as was the accompanying glass of montepulciano, and the prices were very reasonable. Will definitely visit again!

We booked this restaurant as it was close to the finishing point of a 25-mile walk that my wife was putting herself through. I wanted something quick and easy before we drove home, as it would be too late to cook when we got home and I felt she would need some carbs!
The restaurant was well reviewed, so I booked it and hoped.
We found the staff to be very welcoming and also very helpful in explaining the dishes, their likely size and so on. This is a family-run restaurant and it shows. The food was delicious and we almost felt like guests of the family. Despite eating very early for an evening meal (5:30pm), we were not the only guests and they were turning away people who had arrived on spec. We both had the charcuterie to start, a sharing platter and it was enormous! The meat was gorgeous and we were talked through each type when it was given to us.
The two Pizzas we had were equally delectable and I can see just how all those positive reviews were racked up. The meal was not at all expensive and very high quality.
All I can say is if ever you find yourself in Eastbourne and fancy Italian food (who doesn't?), then this place is well worth a visit, but be sure to book!

Definitely one to try, whilst away for the weekend I booked this restaurant to celebrate my 7 year old sons birthday, and although I had asked they put some candles on whatever desert he ordered , they had placed banners at his table, a card, and decorations, which made him feel very special, the food was excellent all home made by the owner, and was served by Lia his daughter, we were told by Lia that they were to be moving to larger premises this month, and I wish them every success, we will definitley be returning later this year to sample the menu again

Restaurant is small and intimate. Décor is lovely and authentic. Warm welcoming from the staff and we were presented with homemade bread, olive oil and balsamic vinegar - delicious. The food was fantastic, albeit the portions slightly too much. Would recommend this highly to Italian lovers!

We read the reviews, it seemed the best restaurant in the area.
However, we felt a little bit dissapointed. The pasta was a bit uncooked and all tasted like coming from the microwave.
My family has a restaurant, and it's easy for us to spot these things.
Would not say it was a bad lunch, but way far from being a 5 star lunch.
