We went here about 2 months ago but I forgot to write a review at the time and we're now thinking of going again. We both really liked this restaurant; staff were very friendly and polite and the starters we ordered (sorry forgotten what they were) were lovely. Only downside, if this can be even considered a downside, was the size of the pizza I ordered. Honestly, I think my stomach just shrivelled looking at it. They are monster-sized. I took ¾ of it home, which I hate doing - when I eat out, I want to eat out not take most of it home. Next time we will not be having pizza (it was nice, but actually not exactly amazing) but are looking forward to trying some of the other lovely looking dishes on the menu.

We chose Anema e core for dinner on Saturday night due to it's rave reviews, and we are so glad we did. The welcome, the food and the service throughout was wonderful - it really is a jewel on the Eastbourne coast, run by a lovely family who truly do make you feel special. It's clear to see why it is number one on the tripadvisor list, and I wish them every success when they move to their new premises. Good luck for the future - we hope to see you again.

Overall a thoroughly unforgettable dining experience. From the moment we stepped inside the restaurant the atmosphere and ambience was welcoming. The service was excellent and the waitress {the owners daughter} was charming and very friendly and explained where her family were from and the basis of their cuisine.
The starters were generous, well presented and delicious as was the home made bread. The bolognese sauce was authentic, homemade and apparently cooked for hours in traditional Italian style.Truly exquisite wine - only problem was it went too fast!!!
Later in the evening the chef / owner came round to the tables to chat to the diners to ensure everything was satisfactory. No worries on that score! We were both very impressed and everything about the entire evening was perfect. We can't wait to go back. Thank you.

We visited Anema e core on our wedding anniversary. We thoroughly enjoyed the food and atmosphere - a little taste of Italy in Eastbourne. The meat/cheese platter to start was particularly good a single portion between two was ample. We were made very welcome

Our trip to Anema e Core was really good. We very much enjoyed the food - beef and sage butter tortellini for me, and my boyfriend had the most enormous calzone ever created and managed to finish it. The staff were incredibly attentive and helpful, giving us little facts about the food and their home region of Italy, and recommending a very nice wine. Would visit again.

My hubby and I visited on a short break to Eastbourne. Having read reviews on Trip Advisor we decided we must give it a try. I tried to book for Wednesday but they were full so booked for the next day. They are moving premises soon so will be able to cater for more covers, make sure you book, don't miss out! We shared the bruschetta which was delicious. The home made bread was delightful, light and crispy and there was plenty for two. I had lasagne, which was a family recipe and was not sloppy like many which I have eaten before, it was beautiful. My hubby had the chicken dish with chilli and olives. It was one of the best dishes he had eaten out for a long time. Excellent value at less than £40 including a bottle of wine. The service was excellent and they could not do enough to ensure we had a great evening. I would be more than happy to recommend this restaurant and wish them continued success in their new venue.

I booked a table for my daughter and I before seeing a show. We checked on trip advisor before booking. I was not disappointed. The restaurant inside is very sweet although the location isn't the nicest (they are moving location soon).
I ordered the bruchetta for starter. It was huge! I shared it with my daughter. The bread was homemade by Lia's Dad. My daughter ordered pizza and I had the 8 hour slow cooked bolognese with tagliatelli. It was beautiful! It was Lia's Mamas recipe and had been passed down from her mother. The pizza was also one of the best pizzas I have ever tasted (I tried a slice).I ordered a lemon and pine nut tart for afters. Wow! Again homemade and just yummy!! The espresso was also gorgeous and Lia gave it to me kindly on the house.
I cannot recommend this place highly enough. If you love your Italian food- you will not be disappointed. Go give it a try. I'm taking my entire family next time.

My husband and I have just had a fantastic meal at Anema e Core. We searched via trip advisor before coming to Eastbourne and this restaurant was highly recommended. We didn't book as it was a Tuesday so didn't expect it to be busy - but we got the last table, it was full which says a lot!
Food was absolutely lovely and the service was great. A lovely family run, authentic Italian restaurant. We will definitely come back when we are next here. Would highly recommend.

Nothing much to look at from the outside and nothing special inside but don't let that put you off. Having read positive reviews we booked a table - glad we did. Only restaurant in the road that was busy. Friendly, welcoming service and wonderful food. Two of us shared a board of cheeses and meats for a starter - enough for 4! Also had the garlic bread - made on the premises and smothered in melted cheese. Followed that (after a rest) with delicious pasta. Together with a shared salad (enormous) and a decent bottle of wine, bill came to £54. Make sure you book a table in advance, and then enjoy a brilliant dining experience.

Went here purely because it was rated high on TripAdvisor. Looks kind of like a restaurant you'd find in Spain - pictures of the food on the menus and all that. Not the kind of place that would always get the recognition it deserves - because it was awesome. Pizzas were amazing, obviously, staff were nice; and what was funny was that you could tell that so many people were in there like me, because it was high on TripAdvisor, so it had a nice buzz about it.
Will defiantly be back, and Im sure everyone else who visits will be too!

We booked for a late dinner, but traffic meant we were late. The staff couldn't be helpful enough; keeping the kitchen open past the usual hour.

My 13 yr old daughter an I went here recently. We have travelled around Italy and so have a pretty good idea of how good Italian food can be. Our visit to Anema e core took us straight back to those authentic and delicious flavours we experienced in Milan and the Italian Lakes. fresh, flavoursome and incredible service. I am loathed to reccommend this restarant though because I don't want it to be so popular that I can't get a set in there!

Went with my daughter for a light lunch ended up being enticed by the 3 course lunch 12.50 GBP ( they also did a quick lunch at 5 GBP)
Wine was reasonable priced to.
I had a Prawn Cocktail ( huge portions home made bread) slow cooked 8 hour Bolognese and tiramisu

6 of us recently had dinner at this fantastic family restaurant, the staff could not have been more helpful even keeping the kitchen open a little later as a couple of our group were stuck in traffic on the way.
