Having lived and worked on the Amalfi coast I can genuinely say this is the closest you will get to a traditional family run restaurant outside Italy, no the food is not fine dining but it is tasty fare and the service was exceptional. A good little find

Lovely cosy family run restaurant and nice touches. However the food was...OK. Really generous portions but not "the best" of anything I've had previously. In my opinion the other Italian restaurants in Eastbourne are just as good and actually some do the dishes we had better, with more flavour. Not to say we didn't enjoy our evening but personally I really didn't think the hype was justified - sorry!

Read all the reviews prior to visiting with family after Church on Sunday. I am delighted to say that all of the positive reviews are well merited.
The service is informative, friendly and elegant. The food is first class.
The location is small but warm and the overall impression is of visiting distant Italian relatives and being invited to eat in their home.
Please don't change a thing

Visited on a Tuesday night and we were seated without a reservation. It was quite busy so I should think booking is a must later in the week.
The waitress was charming and pleased to offer advice and give information about the dishes om the menu. The food was good quality cooking served without pretension. If you want a fine dining experience this is probably not the place for you.
If you want wholesome, delicious, good quality ingredients served in a family run restaurant and great value then I can thoroughly recommend. Bill for 2, starters and mains, couple of drinks just over £40. An excellent experience

Very warm and friendly welcome on arrival. Lovely food and plenty of it, especially the the starters, the bread based one are made using their own delicious home made bread.Main courses were tasty and made from very fresh tasting ingredients.Very relaxed atmosphere, friendly helpful staff, and extremely reasonably priced,we will definitely be retuning.

Ingredients are fresh and well prepared. The cooking is distinctly South Italian, relying on tomatoes a lot. Their Pasta is excellent. The Patron is adamant that she knows best and you dare not try and disagree with her. Service is very good but the constant loud chiming of "graze mille" became over done from a perfect english speaker. it is a friendly, cosy place and probably the best restaurant in Seaside which is crammed with awful places. It is not particularly inexpensive, especially given the location. The wines are very good.

What a little gem, hidden in Eastbourne! Lovely service, great atmosphere and the food is just divine. We all ate different things so we could taste each other's. The bread was homemade, pasta fresh and everything we ate was truly delicious. It was so good we decided to book again for a large family party. Thank you, Anema e core!!

What a wonderful, intimate restaurant that serves authentic Neapolitan cuisine. The atmosphere was superb and the service very, very special. Rightly the number one rated eatery in Eastbourne and IMO the finest dining experience on the south coast bar none. SUPERB!

A surprise weekend in Eastbourne. Checked TA for an Italian Restaurant and decided on this one. Made a reservation for 7pm on a Saturday night.
The staff were absolutely lovely and very welcoming. We had an absolutely lovely meal and have already recommended the restaurant to some friends who live in Eastbourne. If you like Italian food I would suggest you try it, I would be very surprised if you were disappointed.

Our second visit to this restaurant. A very warm welcome by all the staff. We love Anema e core. We called the restaurant on Saturday afternoon and they were able to fit us in at 5 o'clock. If you want to enjoy authentic Italian food, look no further!! Can't wait until we visit Eastbourne again!

We booked a table based on trip advisor reviews and were not disappointed. All five members of our party were really impressed with our food - we opted for a mix of pizza and pasta - which shows this place is a great all round Italian eatery. It's run by a family who clearly are passionate about their foods and wines. Excellent customer service and fantastic menu. Very reasonable for the high quality food provided, would definitely recommend.

Visited here for the first time last Sun eve, so glad we did! It's owned & run by a family from the Amalfi Coast, mum & dad cook and daughter serves, the food is so delicious but what makes it special are the owners, we felt like we had been invited to their home to dine!
We would highly recommend.

I have walked past this restaurant several times and reading the reviews needed to go. I am also a bit sceptical about restaurants being number one on TA and excellent reviews.
The restaurant is very basic, but that's part of the charm. Its small but with lots of character, we went on a week night and it was full, I would book if I was going on a weekend. The staff are charming and are very attentive, nothing is too much bother. The service is very relaxed, which I prefer, you get the impression they want to look after the customers they have rather than being a conveyor belt of customers. if you are a diner that likes their food quickly and no pauses between courses this is not for you. We had a lovely few hours (husband and I) no kids and didn't feel the need to rush, its very relaxed dinning.
We shared our starters Bruschetta, with Parma Ham, Buffalo mozzarella and a basil. The small fried and baked pizza. It was all hand made and the bread was very light and fluffy. I was concerned I wouldn't be able to eat my mains but with the lovely gap in-between our starters and the bread being lovely and light it was not a problem.
For our main we had pastas dished I had the blue cheese and my husband had the sea fish, he tells me it was really tasty and the home-made pasta was cooked to perfection.
Wine list is really extensive.
The whole dining experience was really lovely and the food is amazing. Highly recommended. Very reasonably priced.
Can't wait to come back to try the pizza :)

I went here with my mother who was visiting me in Eastbourne, we go to Italy at least once a year and I can honestly say this is one of the best meals I've ever had and by far the best Italian meal I've had in England! The waiting staff were also incredibly friendly and very sweetly put up with my mother practising her dodgy Italian on them as she is having currently having lessons back home! Not only that but amazing value, I could not recommend enough and will definitely be returning, favourite new restaurant!

Thank you Antonio and Lia (the young front of house couple) for a delightful evening on Thursday.
Great food, super atmosphere and fabulous service, not forgetting the white Compania wine you recommended. Pity we live so far away because we would like to visit every week. No wonder you are No1 in Eastbourne - you deserve it.

After our vacation in London. We gathered for the event to greet friends in Eastbourne, and they had booked in this typical Italian restaurant to make us feel at home, so we started ordering a good and rich appetizer of the house accompanied by a baked focaccia warm before our eyes in a wood stove that you could hear everything on this fabulous truly delicious focaccia, as always followed us to the room Manager condiglió to taste the Spaghetti Pescatora style with seafood, with the fruits of the sea that even in Italy I have seen so fresh. As wine we took a bottle of Brunello di Montalcino and 'other Greek di Tufo delicious eventually we were delighted the conclusion of our dinner with a pizza with Nutella .... professional and kind staff, who spoke good English even though they were Italian. Chapó to you who bear aloft the flag of Italy compliments. I highly recommend it and thanks to our friends for letting us live a culinary experience all made in Italy. We'll be back.

Booked for a meal for 2 , had real good Italian food made to perfection . Charming host with her partner with her parents in the kitchen , made us very welcome .
The starter Crostone Capri was so tasty , enough for 2 or even a main course !We had Pennette alla Boscaiola super mix of mushrooms , cream and Bolognese sauce , also Tagliatelle alla Bolognese , sauce was spot on .......
No room for a sweet , they looked enticing from a distant . A must to visit even if just passing through

We recently visited the restaurant after seeing the great reviews on here. We were not disappointed with our visit as the food was brilliant and the atmosphere in the restaurant was very warming. I would highly recommend this restaurant and we will definitely be heading back!

We decided to visit this restaurant given the great reviews. I think it is a bit overrated. The selection of beer is limited and overpriced, so we decided to go for wine, which wasn't too bad (except for the fact that we prefer beer). They have a good selection of italian wines from £15 a bottle. The food was good. As a starter we had bruschetta, which was excellent! The bread was just baked there. My pizza was very good, but my husband chose to have pasta, and he was quite dissappointed. Overall, it is an ok place, but drinks are expensive and the pasta is not that good.

Food not bad, should promote the homemade dishes, so you can order them. My tortellini was not as I expected but was ok. Would go again as it was definitely above average.
