Myself- retirement age- and my adult daughters decided to take advantage of good weather to walk/climb from Seven Sisters Country Park, through Birling Gap and on to Beachy Head.
It was an amazing walk with spectacular views. Some of the steep ascents on chalky terrain are quite challenging, especially being aware of cliff fall risks; we kept well away from the edge, but could still appreciate the wonderful views.
This is a truly beautiful part of England, perhaps rather underrated?
The mild , dry weather was a bonus, as was a welcome stop at the National Trust cafe
en route!
Altogether, an invigorating, calming experience- especially for us city dwellers!

Even on a dull day there were lots of people enjoying the walks, scenery, beach and café. The exhibition about the cliff erosion was very interesting and the second hand book shop a bonus.

Great to take to the water and Kayak close to the cliffs
At high tide you get close and when the birds are nesting it’s fantastic to get so close
And if your lucky a friendly seal might pop up to say hello

Walked from Eastbourne to Cuckmere via Birling Gap and it was a treat at all times. Ups and downs were enjoyable as were the views. If you can walk then walk it.
Not to be missed if in the area.

Parked in the National trust car park at Birling Gap. There is a visitor centre, toilets and cafe here. The toilets were not very clean which is the first time we have experienced this at a National Trust Place.
It was a foggy day so views were limited on the outward walk to Cuckmere Haven. The Cuckmere Valley is very scenic with several short trails in the seven sisters country park. Impressive views of the chalk cliffs opened up on the return leg and it was a highlight to see a Peregrine sat on the cliff top grass about 5 metres from us at the top of one of the sisters. Altogether the walk was about 8.5 miles but has lots of ups and downs so although the going is good it is quite strenuous.

We stopped here on the way to Brighton and walked along the beach trail and were able to experience the white cliffs from the bottom. We had seen some from the top but was amazing to stand at the bottom and experience the magnificence. A reasonably easy walk except the pebble beach was a bit tricky but on the way back we walked along the grass. You can pretty much walk wherever you like which was really good as it gets quite busy.

My wife always insists we visit Birling Gap whenever we are in Eastbourne. Brought up in the area she likes to return to visit childhood haunts and she the ever moving cliff edge. Good NT cafe etc here in the car park.

We visited here on a weekday. The main attraction is the walk up to the lighthouse at Beachy Head for the views, or going to the beach for the rock pools. There are toilets, a café and visitor centre/shop all of which are very pleasant. There is a baby change available, but note pushchairs/wheelchairs will not have much access outside the facilities given the slightly rough terrain and steps. This is a good place to visit as a family.

So, back on the open-top bus my next stop was here at about 12 midday and despite the wind was already quite busy. Large pay and display car park plus toilets, with a National Trust visitor centre and on such a cold day a cafe! Just OK food but my sausage casserole was missing a few things!
This place is the best for viewing the famous seven sisters cliffs and also the fairly recently installed metal steps down to the foot of the cliffs and the shingle beach prove popular too. About 500 steps I think, quite a few brave souls lying on the shingle...must have been sheltered down there. Like Beachy Head best in clear weather if you can manage it!

Thoroughly recommend a visit to this magnificent shoreline. Make sure you wear comfy shoes though, especially on the beach!

Stunning views White cliffs the sea a beach to explore on what more could you want. Can be windy so always take a jacket. You can walk round to Beachy Head but remember to check the tide times. Just a wonderful place one of my favourite. After all the exercise you can get an ice cream or some lunch when you get back. Go and explore you'll be glad you did.

We walked from East Dean to Birling gap and then walked along to Beachy Head from there. Beautiful views of the cliffs and the National Trust centre at Birling was a good stop for cafe and toilets, plus dog-friendly.The volunteer from South Africa was incredibly helpful and even offered us a lift if we couldn't walk anymore!

Amazing place, we had visited couple of years ago but today was just as special, very sunny too!

We enjoyed our walk up the cliff to the lighthouse, tim on the beach and walk on the other cliffs,

Very busy, we arrived after 10am and car park was already very busy.

Great place to visit.

Amazing home made cakes! Shop and information centre with lots of local history.. It is worth going down the iron steps to the stony beach, the noise of the stones moving as the waves come in and recede is loud! The waves caught some people out and they ended up with wet feet! Seven Sisters make a lovely walking day out. Some a bit steeper than the others but lovely views.

Sad to see the on going corrosion of the cliff with it moving closer to remaining dwellings ((in the past properties have been claimed by the sea). The area is in the hands of the National Trust. There is a tea room and museum on site

Real coastal area with beach and walks and cosy cafe at top. Access by steep stairway only and seating and parking for those less mobile at top.

Birling gap is a beautiful place to visit for the day. The car park is owned by The National Trust so the money goes to a good cause.
There is an interesting visitors centre, a National Trust shop, a second hand book shop and a cafe selling great coffee and food.
From here you can walk along the cliffs to the Cuckmere Haven or over the cliffs to Beacyhead.
There are steps going down to the beach.
