This has to be one of englands outstanding viewing spots, especially if you are lucky with a sunny day, the views from the viewing platform next to the visitors centre offers in one direction the high cliffs of the "Downs" and in the other the white cliffs of "the Sisters!". And what could be nicer than to pop in for the most delicious ice cream ever! a Judes honeycomb...wow.

Burling Gap is one of my favourate places in the world. Fantastic views and walks on the beach. Would love to spend more time here.

Birling Gap is a must visit on your list when travelling along the Chalk Coast. Views are spectacular with a number of different walks. Parking is available at a small cost.

It took over two hours to reach Birling Gap from London but it was well worth the effort. The weather was perfect, sunny but not uncomfortably hot. We had a picnic lunch on the beach followed by a bracing walk along the edge of the cliffs. The views were stunning of the brilliant blue sea set against the dazzling white cliffs. We had a refreshing tea with scones at the cafe and looked around the Visitors Centre. We were pleased to find that the shop sold good quality and attractive scarves, jewellery, glassware and other items.
There were also very informative maps, books and brochures about the history of the area and interesting places to visit. Although we were only away for the day we arrived back in London feeling refreshed and re-invigorated.

We visited the here yesterday up take my 13 year old crabbing and it didn’t disappoint. You need to wait till at least two hours after high tide until the rock pools are visible . They are to the left of the stairs and we used a very helpful website called seaweed.com which lists the tides and times . Nice cafe and an ice cream van which my other half said was the best ice cream he ever tasted . Nice clean public loos (as it’s a national trust site ) and very welcome as our campsite had only a a compostable one . Buckets and nets not overpriced either and young man In shop extremely helpful sorry didn’t catch his name . We didn’t walk up the cliff sadly as dragging teenagers around but overall a lovely place to spend an afternoon .

It is stunning to look out at the Birling Gap, especially, if you are lucky enough to get the chance for a low tide, sunset early evening, although you won’t be alone as many photographers head here for the beautiful
Light and reflection opportunities.

The car park area is busy during the day with coach trips and a bus route, the national trust have a gift shop
And cafe and viewing platform, or you can go onto the shingle beach running alongside the white cliffs.

Head a few minutes away and into the seven sisters park and or towards the belletout lighthouse and the crowds soon thin out and you might find yourself alone again to take in the stunning views and breathe the sea air.

The views can be approached from a number of directions, making a choice of walks. Clearly going close to the edge of the cliffs is stupid as they are not guaranteed to break off. A little sad to see the amount of erosion in places.

Great view of the seven sisters, lots of space for pictures and sit down for a picnic or some relaxation.
Don’t really get the attraction of the beach though as it’s full of pebbles, no real sand in sight. Still some people were swimming and do enjoy it.
Downside is only a small tea rooms and long queue for bathroom facilities. Lack of parking in main car park leading many to park on the side of the road and walk up. This is a bit dangerous as cars are constantly driving past but on the plus side it is free compared to the main car park.

It's a beautiful two hour walk over the Seven Sisters (right) or go left towards Belle Tout and on to Beachy Head.

National Trust has a good cafe at Birling Gap.

Never get tired of coming here , it's just gorgeous . If you love rock pooling this is the place , once the sea goes out there are amazing rock pools to explore .
It's a hidden little gem , only a 10 min ride from Eastbourne beach .
Be aware it's gets very windy up on the hills above this beach !
It's a relaxing few hours just chilling on the beach , it's never been too busy when we have visited .

Sceneries that can be seen over and over again - because of the tide and the weather.
Tea with scones and clotted cream has to be had afterwards.

My wife and I got of the bus here to have a look around with very little expectations. So glad we did it was one of the most naturally beautiful spots I have ever been to. Go down onto the beach to appreciate the scale and magnificence of the scene in front of you. Took loads of pictures to remember it by an amazing place to visit for a couple of hours.

What a glorious scene. This is managed by the NT and is a must see for this part of the coast, On a visit specifically to see the main art galleries in the south east, this easily topped the lot with exquisite light and colours, fresh air, great stone beach. The sun and clouds worked their magic by playing across the cliff faces. Unforgettable and with lots of fresh air thrown in.

Had an amazing time hiking all the way from Birling gap to the park of seven sisters. Amazing views! Hiking over the seven sisters requires a good physical health but it's definitely worth it. If you are not a fan of hiking, you can also see the cliffs from the birling gap :)

Birling Gap is one of the most beautiful places on the Sussex coast. There is a lovely beach with beautiful light reflected from the white chalk cliffs. This is also a fantastic place from which to walk the Seven Sisters cliffs.

Got there with no expectation at all, but I was completely stunned by the view up to the Seven Sisters cliffs. Definitely worth-watching, I would recommend to take a day to visit everything. And wear comfortable shoes!!

We came here in July during the summer holiday. We went for a long walk and explored the Seven sisters park and the magnificent views across the Downs. On the way back we stopped at a local pub and had a lovely meal and a drink. Utterly wonderful day out with the family!

Managed as a NT site the beach is accessed by many steps, the beach is rocky at low tide so good for rock pooling, at high tide not child safe for swimming. There have been rock falls in previous years so don’t sit to close to cliff.
