Yippee!
It's reopened to walk on anyway with a few refreshment spots open. A really well maintained pier that is iconic and looks just as fabulous from afar or below as it is atop. Great views out to the Downs at sunset and I recommend it in winter when the sea and sky are more dramatic. We used the pier as a goal when kayaking from the east.

Eastbourne is a resort town & is a great place to live. The pier is most famous here, the beach of eastbourne made up of sea-smoothed pebbles. Beachy head & eastbourne redoubt are another attraction here too. It has well connected public transport.people here are friendly. I love you Eastbourne.

Old school, one of the very few left in this country, some of the shops are closed for winter or didn't survive covid, but worth a visit part of our heritage

What a photogenic location! It is a beautiful pier facing the ocean. We loved visiting there and walked around. Unfortunately the tea shop was closed (from outside, it looked really lovely with great sea view). But maybe next time...
