Came here two years ago. Nothing has changed it's still an excellent restaurant. Having visited Greece over a period of 15 years this is just like dining in Greece.
Good value. Drinks are reasonably priced. Menu is a true representation of Greek food. Service could not be faulted.

Having recently had a 10 day break to skiathos. Obviously we tried the local dishes souvlaki/ stifado. But if you want to eat Greek food full of flavour. No need to go to far. This restaurant is a true reflection of fabulous Greek food. It won’t disappoint . Great staff always on hand . And the owner of the establishment always cooking and keeping the place ticking like clockwork .

Wonderful lunch of the Meze for 2 . Such good value and quality .
The selection of food included all the expected Greek dishes of Humous and Taramasalata Pita breads and Olives which were excellent but the surprises were the Spanakopita as well as the Gigantes fournou ( butter bean) Would definitely recommend .

Came here based on review as the best in Eastbourne and was not disappointed. We had the sharing platter to start which was really tasty. The place was packed with locals and Greek customers. The main was the stifado which was one of the best I have had outside Greece. Go and enjoy.

We have been visiting this restaurant ever since it opened and it NEVER disappoints. I don't really do reviews (I've always intend to but never get round to it) but it's now got to the stage that I just had to put this right. The food at Gr/Eat is always so fresh & tasty. My sister is vegetarian and I'm partial to vegetarian food myself and we both agree the choice is incredible. Even my hubby who loves his meat (he says its always really good) eats a lot of the veggie dishes here. Things that we've had in other Greek/Mediterranean restaurants such as falafel/vine leaves made us a bit cautious about trying them again. We shouldn't have doubted as the ones served here are easily the best we have eaten anywhere. Tried the vegetarian orzo pasta dish for the first time last night and it was absolutely perfect! The service is always friendly and excellent as well (not always easy to find both in a restaurant). The only disappointing thing is that we live near London so although we come to Eastbourne and to Gr/Eat as much as we can we still can't eat here as often as we'd like to.. Lucky Eastbournians!

We visited last night with family for my birthday. The service and food was amazing. My sister had the calamari and we all agreed it was the nicest and biggest we’d ever had! My parents shared the vegetarian mezze and I’ve never seen so much food! The bill was very reasonable for 6 people and we’ll definitely be back.

I return here time after time and am never disappointed my wife is vegetarian and in most restaurants has limited choices so when we come here she is always excited about the selections of meze and mains, keep it up guys

Second holiday to Eastbourne third visit to restaurant with fourth booked ! All of the staff are so happy and calm making dining a wonderful relaxing experience even though they are so busy.Food is excellent presentation perfect service so attentive what more could we say ☺ Thank you

Modern and top restaurant with good vegetarian options. We came with a group and had a dinner menu with a variety of starters, which were huge - already would have be enough to feed everyone. All the food is freshly made, very healthy and yummy! There is Staff is super nice and effective. Atmosphere is modern and welcoming. If I ever have the chance to go there again, I will do so!

Excellent place. Very pleasant staff who work hard and are very efficient. The food is really fresh and tasty....just about everything is home made, in house...from the Pitta Bread to the Moussaka. There are good wines available but the better ones are quite expensive. So go here for a special meal...if you can get in. They're gonna need a bigger place soon!!

We dined at Gr/eat on Sunday 4th August we booked after we failed to get in on the Saturday night as they were fully booked. The staff were friendly, helpful and polite. I took a while to choose my meal because there was so much choice on the menu. Our food was served quickly and to a high standard. I had the chicken souvlaki which was very tasty my husband had the steak and if was very tender. We enjoyed a bottle of wine and felt our evening was good value for money. I would recommend that you book to ensure you are able to eat when you want to.

Fourth time we 've been in Gr-Eat. Saturday and full booked but the service was amazing fast. The dishes great, we had bougiourdi, grilled octopus, dolmades, garides saganaki, grilled chicken. Everyhting was amazing, very happy! We are looking forward to our fifth time when next time in Eastbourne! GR-EAT is THE place to eat no doubt about that.

We decided to come back (again!) to this restaurant but for the lunchtime meze menu with some friends.
Yet again we took the precaution of booking a table as this restaurant is very popular even on a Thursday lunchtime.Another warm welcome, with smiling faces, and the food was first class. None of us wanted to cause offence so we finished everything!!
Vasilis very kindly came over to speak to us whilst we were there which was an extra treat.The jury is still out as to whether the lunchtime meze or evening meze is better (obviously it's cheaper lunchtime but less of it) so we have decided we will have to try both at least once more before we come to a conclusion!

Second time we've been here and it was as good as the first experience. The food really transports you to s Greek taverna on a beach. Great atmosphere and value for money. If you want a change from the hundreds of Italians in Eastbourne this is it.

Wow, what an amazing find in Eastbourne. You will not be disappointed, the food is beautifully presented as well as fresh and wonderfully tasty. Great atmosphere, staff for happy and friendly. I felt like I was on holiday... I would recommend the Grilled Octopus which was tender and soooo tasty. I cannot fault any of the food that Inpersonally eat and took from my friends plate lol...

Tuesday evening and they were as busy as a weekend, the waitresses were amazing, polite and friendly, and a great help with the menu. The food was superb, maybe the place was a bit noisy (we did have a job to hear each other) but it was packed. Can say nothing but give it a try, would not hesitate to go again.

Wow, this restaurant is the best kept secret of Eastbourne. The food was spectacular, especially the grilled Octopus. The staff friendly and welcoming. I felt like I was in my own private part of Greece. Cannot give enough praise. Do not pass this place by, you will not be disappointed by the freshness and quality of the food.

A party of six, we turned up late on Saturday night yet we were given a great welcome and their full attention. I a fan of Greek food and this didn't disappoint at all...we will be back.

Quiet on a Sunday evening, maybe a third full at 6pm. Many of the nearby establishments were closed in the strip, where there are maybe a dozen restaurants.
Sat outside and served by affable waitress.The spetsofai was spicy Greek sausages, akin to chorizo, coming with a very excellent tomato sauce, and a generous helping.
The pork souvlaki main was equally good, it being pork chunks chargrilled on a skewer, coming with saffron rice, a yoghurt dip, and nice vegetable sides.The small bottle of Greek beer was a bit pricy at £3.50, but the rest was reasonably priced, well presented, and with pleasant service.

Decided to try this place having seen the reviews. We booked for early dinner on a Sunday evening - just as well as by 7.00 the place was very busy and full. Staff were very pleasant and attentive and once ordered food was delivered very quickly. The vegetarian pasta dish looked very good in the biggest bowl I’ve ever seen! The lamb chops were slightly over cooked to my liking but still very tasty. Reasonable prices for location.
