Enjoyed this place. Whilst it may not be the most authentic Greek food you'll find anywhere, it was still very good. Lively atmosphere - and attentive staff. Good menu (we all have meze). Reasonably priced too. Definitely one for a night out with family or friends

We went for just two of the mezze starters rather than starter and main, because we thought that would be enough and we wanted to leave room for desert. It was all just so tasty - especially the beetroot dip, for which we must hunt down a reciepe. Even though it was sunday evening they were full inside, but had space on the tables outside which was fine, despite which they remembered we were out there and got great service from all the friendly waiting staff. Defiintely recommend it!

We were lucky to take advantage of a cancellation and get a table on a Saturday night at only a few days notice. This was our first visit to Gr/Eat and chose it based on the reviews here. It proved to be an excellent choice. The staff were very friendly and attentive with a good knowledge of the menu. All 4 of us chose to go with the Meze which at just over £20 a head for 4 delicious courses and plenty of food was superb. We were a little dubious of ordering a bottle of red wine as greek red doesn't have the best reputation but as everything else was so good we decided to give a go. That proved not to be a great decision. That aside we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and have already recommended it to others.

Perfect summers day lunch. Mixed dips with pitta, calamari & hallioumi followed by the chicken Souvlaki and beetroot salad. Washed down with a very drinkable house white. Authentic and delicious Greek food.

Based on the reviews, we decided to have a dinner at this place. We had mixed dippings with pittas for starter and had a lamb shank and prawn. The dippings were really tasty however the mains were a bit disappointing. The sauce for prawns was good but the prawns were not fresh and not worth the price, and the lamb shank was lack of taste.

Me and my boyfriend booked a table for sunday evening and we weren't disappointed. We had grilled chicken fillet and orzo seafood pasta and both were divine! You can taste everything was fresh, especially seafood. Quick and friendly service, nice and cozy atmosphere, we definitely have to come back.

Food was fantastic and very well priced. The restaurant seemed full of native Greek customers which must be a good sign! However the restaurant was incredibly loud! I understand that the staff have limited abilities to change this but we found ourselves shouting down a table of 6 to hear one another. The service was fast and we were in and out in 50 minutes, not really what we wanted as it would of been nice to stay, chat, have pudding and some more drinks each but the atmosphere made this impossible. There was also no real way of identifying which tables were loud, so must of been the small space in which a lot of people were eating to cause it. We would 100% return but would choose a less busy time (we did go at 8pm on a Saturday summer evening after all). If I could give 4.5 stars I would, but sadly I have to go 4 for the overall experience.

Overall the meal we had was good but stay away from the vegetarian Moussaka. It was clearly re-heated (to only just warm in the middle), very dry & let the rest of the meal down. Salads were excellent.

Restaurant very busy good sign when other around empty. Seated quickly ordered the sharing mixed dips starters which was a nice way to start a meal these were very nice. Mains of beef stifado with potato and carrot mash. Again authentic Greek food nice spiced flavours. Well worth the visit wish we were there longer to try other meals on the menu.
Only fault booked on line but no confirmation of booking sent, it would be nice to have a confirmation so we were confident booking made. Maybe something for the management to consider?

We ate here on the final evening of our Eastbourne stay in July. The location of the restaurant is great, near the sea front on a street with other nice independent restaurants. The restaurants current standing of being number 1 in Eastbourne is well deserved.
Myself and my girlfriend felt welcome and well looked after during our meal. We thought we would create our own Meze and ordered lots of starters and a couple of mains...BEWARE - the portions are generous here and our food could have easily fed a third person! Overall the quality of the food was excellent, even if the bill seemed a little high...We still gladly left a tip!
It is a very well presented restaurant and has a very pleasant atmosphere.
When we next visit Eastbourne - we will return!

Visited Eastbourne for the night and wanted a good meal but nothing too up market.
Opted for Gr/Eat after reading reviews on Trip Advisor and we were not disappointed. We had a meze sharing platter to start which was lovely, I had lamb shank and my husband had beef stifado. Both were delicious. The house white was very good and only £13.50 a bottle.
Great service from all the staff.

Been in Eastbourne for a Saturday only (Tennis finals) we decided to try a new place for us.... how glad we were. Meze was delicious and we had a lovely white wine (Vega III), very nice also.
Service was great and Holly gave us an authentic and genuine service. Congratulations to the kitchen and staff in general... we will come back!
Thanks,

Such a nice place serving fresh and tasty food. It's not expensive, but also not the cheapest place around. Very nice decor, and when it's sunny and warm like today you just want to sit outside and eat. It was packed on a Sunday afternoon.

We were very lucky to get a table at this amazing, authentic Greek restaurant. The food was very fresh and cooked perfectly. The meze was excellent value for money and every item was delicious. Even though they were really busy, the owner took time to speak to us and to advise on wine choices. Brilliant service throughout. Very highly recommended
