The food was very good, and the chef kindly be-headed the sea bream to help my eleven year old son continue his love of fish.
The atmosphere was also good and the waitress very eager to take our order.My only concern was that one minute both waitresses were saying "Sorry we are too busy in the kitchen to give you a table"and in the next twenty minutes another couple then got that table. A further couple came in, had a conversation inside and then went out saying: " we are still thinking about it".
Maybe I am wrong and it was to do with reservations, but to a stranger coming down to the weekend it looked like if your face fitted then it was.Gr/eat.

We, The Central Band of the Royal British Legion were playing in Eastbourne last week. (@centralband).
Last year 4 of us had dinner here, it was so good we decided to return. The food is amazing, moussaka, chicken skewers, lamb chops, lamb shank and the Greek salad, all were fantastic.The manager was expecting 6 of us and to be seated outside. 19 of us turned up, and all needed to be fed at the same time so that we could be ready to play our 8pm concert at the bandstand. He was brilliant, the service was swift and everyone had a wonderful dinner.
Several of us returned later in the week and were so glad we did.

Authentic greek food ... delicious and plentiful. I booked a table for 6 as I had heard the restaurant gets very busy and it certainly didn't disappoint. Excellent service. We all felt welcomed and thoroughly enjoyed our evening. The greek wine was also very good and excellent value. All in all Gr/eat is a fantastic addition to the Eastbourne dining scene. Highly recommended. Can't wait to go back.

Was very excited to try this restaurant. On arriving the greeting we received was a rather abrupt 'you got reservation??!' .. a good evening first might have been nice. Once we were seated (we had booked thankfully) it took too long to be asked about drink orders. However, with this said once drinks and food begun to arrive it was completely redeemed. We shared the starters, vine leaves, sesame feta and honey and the fried halloumi... terrific! Then the mains were gorgeous too. My chicken was very tasty perhaps could have been a couple minutes less on the grill but it was tasty! The service then was excellent, just took a while to get going.
I will definitely be returning to this restaurant and would recommend it.

The food was delicious and the restaurant was so busy for midweek! Luckily they managed to squeeze us in, but most of the tables were reserved and the place was packed - the atmosphere was great!
I had the lamb shank, the meat was so tender it was falling off the bone.
It was my first visit here but will definitely be returning!

Stumbled upon this excellent Greek restaurant and had an very tasty lunch. 2 courses for £11 represented gr.eat value!
Recommend the baked feta mess if you like cheese. The souvlaki were also very tasty.

Went here for lunch and thoroughly enjoyed it. Good food and good portions. Beer was served in a frozen glass which was nice. Service was prompt but not rushed at all.Serves traditional Greek cuisine all freshly made in the kitchen.

Got to love this place ,I've eaten there a few times now and never get bored with it,lovely friendly staff and the food is awesome,my friends and I can never chose what to eat so go for the mezze every time it's a great way to sample lots of dishes as the menu is vast,it's so much food and a desert to finish off,we always leave feeling completely stuffed.Great night out ,fantastic value

The special at £19.90 a head gives you a selection of dishes consisting of 3 courses, starters, main and desert.The meze just kept coming. Hot, cold, meat and vegetarian. What more could you want. On to the the main. Pork and chicken souvlaki. Some of our group wanted a vegetarian main, no problem.
A selection of traditional deserts then followed.A massive massive range of food, lots of it and all delicious.
If you haven't been yet, just go!

Had the Greek meze, shared with my wife. Not for the faint hearted. A healthy appetite is needed for this one. Good atmosphere. Good selection of starters. Followed by mains. Then dessert. If you have room. Not rushed even on a busy Saturday. Would highly recommend. And will be returning with friends and family

I lived in Crete for 3 years and was reluctant to try a restaurant which purported to serve traditional Greek food! How wrong I was. The food was excellent and took me back to the friendly tavernas of Crete. We could not fault any of the eight dishes we selected. We will definitely return and highly recommend this traditional restaurant. The only thing that was missing was the warm balmy Cretan evening!

Asked for jug of water bt got 2 glasses, but at least had ice & lemon.Only dined alfresco not indoors.
Salad had olive oil and wasn't mentioned.Can't always pay outside due to their wifi, and couldn't tip them on credit card.

Met on arrival by friendly staff one of our party had to search for a parking spot this was the only negative.Atmosphere was great Greek music playing in background.Plenty of choice on menu very reasonably priced .Food was excellent portions just right.A thoroughly enjoyable evening .Would definitely go again.

Enjoyed some decent moussaka but the souvlaki contained some undercooked chicken, it was very busy and service was full of smiles but under slight strain. Clearly a popular restaurant, we thought it was good but not mind blowing, although maybe we would've had a different experience at a less busy time.

We wanted to treat my best friend to a birthday meal last min and booked Gr/Eat for 10 people, the staff were very accommodating and the food was so beautiful. A real selection of authentic Greek food! The taste was perfect and fresh, would recommend to anyone!

What an exellent restaurant. Great food, wonderful atmosphere. The owner was hard working and attentive, his waiters were coutrious, efficient and extremely well disciplined, it's obvious that they all really enjoyed working there and got on well with / respected the owner. We only spent 2 nights in Eastbourne and decided to eat here both evenings as we knew it would be impossible to better food & atmosphere.

Absolutely delicious meal, restaurant has perfect atmosphere and reasonably priced too. Greek salad, baked butter beans in tomato sauce and the Greek sausage were delicious. Proper Greek meze reminded me of being on holiday! Would thoroughly recommend!
