We are Eastbourne residents that moved here from South London around 13 years ago, at first we struggled to find restaurants that were anywhere close to the standard of London Restaurants, but in time we have come across some gems, and this is probably the "best of the best" the staff are very attentive, and cant do enough for you, the restaurant is tastefully furnished, and very clean and the food is to die for, we were here on the 30th December, and the restaurant got very busy while we were there, we decided to go for the 3 course set menu, a great value £22 something, my wife had Minestrone, which she said was fantastic, i had gamberetti picante, also fantastic, i had veal and my wife had liver, both great aswell and to finish we both had the most fantastic desert of pancake fresh fuit and amaretto biscuits, without doubt the best restaurant in Eastbourne

A group of five of us enjoyed an excellent lunch at a very reasonable price. The food was very well presented and the menu was varied enough to accomodate most tastes. The service was exceptional, with the owner coming across to greet us and enquire whether we enjoyed the lunch.
I am looking forward to sampling the less restricted lunchtime menu because I love risottos and creamy sauces!

We have lunched at La Locanda on several occasions and always enjoyed it... The set lunch is excellent value, especially on our most recent visit when the starters included delicious mussels and the main course offered excellent Dover sole and a very tasty chicken breast dish. Service was excellent and the white house wine tempted us to a second bottle.

After looking around Eastbourne on Saturday we came across this restaurant and having seen previous Tripadvisor reviews we went in to book. They were very busy but still managed to fit us in and I have to say it was one of the best Italian meals we have experienced. The staff could not have been more attentative and the meals were excellent.
Thank you for making our weekend so special.

Our Guest House advised us to dine at La Locanda del Duca. It was a very short walk from Lascelles Terrace where we were staying. We were greeted by Ben and Veronica and received excellent table service by both and by Dagmar. The owner, Luca made a point of coming to our table to welcome us. It was all very polished and professional.
After very tasty starters, we tried something different - veal for me and calves liver for my wife with a nice bottle of Montepulciano to wash it down. The dishes were excellent - couldn't fault anything.
The bonus was a gratis Limoncello at the end of the dinner and a generous discount off the whole bill, thanks to the Tourism Passport given to us by our guest house.
No doubt about it, for a fine but economical meal, this is the restaurant to aim for.

I visited here with two friends for Sunday lunch. We arrived at 2pm and it was virtually packed (always a good sign) and we were lucky to get a table! The service was very good and the food was superb. Can thoroughly recommend the prawn and asparagus risotto.....packed with king prawns!

We ate at La Locanda Del Duca last night while staying in Eastbourne for the weekend. The menu was varied, the decor elegant and the food excellent. What was really outstanding through was the service and the staff - extremely professional and worthy of a top restaurant in Rome but friendly at the same time. Congratulations you are all outstanding.
The best Italian restaurant we have ever eaten in outside of Italy. Very impressive and refined. Our only disappointment is that we don't live nearer!

On the last night of our 2 day break we decided to visit La Locanda Del Duca and I am genuinely pleased that it never slipped the net. The staff on arrival were extremely attentive and ensured we were seated swiftly. The menu was as good as it gets; I started with the mussels and followed up with a near perfect Fillet Rossini. The food was well presented and the overall experience excellent. This is certainly on my to do again list.

We were staying in Eastbourne on business and went to La Locanda Del Duca for an early dinner. Claire had been complaining that there was no good food in Eastbourne, but this restaurant changed her mind, especially after the delicious Minestrone soup! (This was the second best Minestrone I have ever eaten, the best being that at the Hamilton Princess in Bermuda.)
The service was good and friendly, and we really appreciated the owner stopping for a chat.
Highly recommended, we will definitely return.

Attended a charity dinner here last week organised by Citizens Advice.
We were looked after wonderfully well, the food was excellent and the company great.Luca and his staff really made an effort for us.
I have eaten here before and have always enjoyed it but the way they coped with a full house was wonderful.

We visited La Locanda Del Duca on Sunday evening, food was excellent and our evening was made extra special by a singer Tom Fitzpatrick performing in the restaurant.
The evening was very lively and he got everyone participating and up dancing, will definitely be returning to this restaurant

Been next door to Pomodoro's a few times but this was the first time i have been here. My parents come a lot and love it. They are both run by the same family. This one is a little more up market than Pomodoro but that is also very good. A little quieter maybe?
The staff were all very attentive. Kept coming over to check on us.
Food was excellent.
Liver was to die for. Would have liked mash and onion gravy but that is just me!
Veal was good and tasty but not special.Chicken was exceptional.
Roast potatoes were really good as was the veg. Only real complaint would be there was a small dish of potatoes and veg to share between 4 which was not really enough. All our starters were very good.
Worth a visit but you will need to book.

This is not our first visit but it is fair to say that this restaurant never disappoints. Despite it being a cold ,wet night the place was full!!. This was due ,not only excellent service and food, but also to the talent of singer Tom Fitzpatrick who entertained the diners to an evening of great music. This was his first visit but won`t be his last.
This restaurant deserves the success it has because it provides the "Complete Package" GREAT FOOD, SERVICE and WELCOME. Having recently retired after 20years in catering its` great to find such a place on our doorstep.

We only manage to get to Eastbourne once a year, and always look forward very much to dinner at La Locanda Del Duca. And with good reason, because the food is unfailingly superb. The menu encompasses a good range of typical Italian cuisine, and prices are very fair for the consistently high quality. It has a pleasant, bustling atmosphere, and the staff and knowledgable and accommodating. Highly recommended.

What can I say! It was our sons 18 birthday and we had 8 of us enjoying a fantastic meal, the food was amazing my husband's Italian and he thought it was wonderful. The staff (in particular Luigi) were very attentive and it made our son's evening spectacular. Thank you all for an amazing evening. Can't wait to come back. We live in Suffolk so it won't be that soon!

Went to Locanda on a Saturday evening and whilst it was very busy we were not rushed or crammed in next to other diners. The two or three course set menu is excellent value for money.

Outstanding food and music - love the staff, always friendly and polite. Highly recommended :-)
Same as Pomodora next door (sister company) except quieter, little extras while you wait like olives/ bread and more of a relaxed atmosphere.

The welcome we received from the all-Italian staff was very friendly.
The food was excellent We eat out a lot, but this was the best Italian meal we have ever had.It is not cheap (eg. wine from £17 per bottle) and groups of ten or more have to pay a 10% surcharge.
However, we came away feeling we had had a really special treat of a meal.

Had a really nice meal here when we were visiting Eastbourne a few days ago with my husband, sister and brother in law. Really friendly staff with a great menu with loads of choice and not too expensive.

This is one of the best Italian restaurants in Eastbourne, if not the best.
There are fixed two course and three course menus and a very healthy A La Carte with a large selection. Some may say that with so many items available that this is not necessarily a good sign. Not so, we all had a different choice of starters, mains and desserts, all the food was excellent and clean plates indicated this was so. Service is quick efficient and pleasant without being over enthusiastic. Food is hot and well presented.
The "Owner" offers a greeting and warm welcome to all and really creates a very pleasant atmosphere. The cost is reasonable for the level of food and you will not be disappointed with a visit here.
