This restaurant was very busy when we arrived. We hadn't booked but they very kindly fitted us in. Service was good considering how busy is was. We ate from a set menu which had a good range of choices for each course.

Visited this restaurant on a busy Saturday night for my husband's birthday. The food was amazing, it was fresh, tasty and was presented lovely. The staff were attentive and although rushed off their feet they made sure to look after us. Absolutely beautiful place to eat, will come back to Eastbourne to eat here again!

Took two out of town friends here and we all loved it. Firstly the service is excellent, friendly and welcoming from the moment we walked in. We were shown to our table and served very promptly, the waiting staff were quick, efficient and polite. They were excellent throughout the evening and even overheard the fact that one of our party was celebrating a her birthday. They served her desert with a candle, gave her a card and sang happy birthday.
The food was excellent too; there was a good selection and all the starter dishes were served quickly. The mains were also lovely as were the deserts.
Very enjoyable meal, we'll be back.

Had a delicious scallop and bacon starter followed by saffron flavoured brown rice risotto with sea food which inspired ideas for what to try and cook at home. Both courses rated at 5 out of 5. The only weak points in the food were the bread (supermarket quality) and flatbread (stale) and olives (2 out of 5).

Lovely food, wonderful service faultless, nothing to much trouble quick and attentive.
Judging by the number of what were obviously regulars a very popular restaurant. Spoilt for choice on the menu but had Gamberi con salsa piccante and then calves liver lovely. My son had Melanzane alla parmigiana stunning, followed by Ravioli di carne alla crema di porcini beautiful

Whenever we are in Eastbourne we book a table at La Locanda Del Duca. This restaurant is run by Italians who obviously know how to provide tasty beautifully-cooked, well-presented food. In addition, the prices are very reasonable indeed.
Their well-trained, cheerful and efficient staff make the whole dining experience a joy.
If you are visiting Eastbourne and love Italian food then this is the restaurant for you. Enjoy!

Excellent food, great service. Classic food (not too modern), pretty heavy but really tasty. Maybe for a couple or older families not sure my daughter would enjoy it here as much.

We ate here two nights, it was so good. It is popular with local people as well as visitors. The staff are well-trained and excellent. The owner is there an comes round to speak to everyone. We enjoyed everything we ate.

I love Italian food and have eaten in restaurants all over the world some good some bad without a doubt La Locanda Del Duca features as one of the best locations I have visited. A real find and in Eastbourne of all places !! Recommended by my hotel concierge with enormous enthusiasm my partner and I set off by taxi with a certain amount of scepticism.
We need not have worried, the outside decorated in the colours of the Italian flag the inside was pleasantly decorated with well spaced tables laid with white linen cloths and napkins and silver service.. Staff were cheerful and welcoming and immediately greeted us on entering.. The menu was typical Italian with a few interesting surprises. The Insalata Capreses when served was a work of art ! The Mozzarella and Tomato's served on the plate as a non-leaning Tower of Pisa surrounded by colourful decorations . The other starter of Zucchine Frite were mouthwatering. The mains of Cannelloni Spinaci and Tortelloni al Pomodoro both favourites of mine where the best I have tasted. Followed by lovely sweets and reasonably priced Pinot Grigio I left the premises on a satisfied cloud.I cannot recommend this establishment too highly go along and enjoy !!

I'm visiting the annual airshow and had dinner here last night. I did not book and arrived on a little mobility scooter, which I sat on throughout the meal. The welcome was warm and charming. Actually I didn't feel well (rheumatoid arthritis) but tucked into the breads and olives given at the start of the meal. My starter was grilled sardines and the main was liver with sage, and both were very good. I didn't have wine or a pudding, and the bill was about £30. Worth it.

Had to book on a Sunday, this restaurant is very popular. Our first impression was the very friendly welcome and prompt arrival of our server to take drinks and explain what was on the menu. We both ordered the tempura prawns and calves liver. The food was absolutely delicious and well presented. We had a lovely bottle of Sicilian Nero d'Avola which is a favourite with us. Very good value for money, I wish I could move this restaurant to my home town.

We were lucky to get a table, even though we were early. Not surprised. A varied menu. We had the 2 course table dote for £20. Great range to choose from. Veal escalope and calves liver are not easy to find, and were superb. The owner took the trouble to chat with us at the end of the meal, despite the place buzzing behind him. Book with confidence.

Booked for 5 - birthday meal for our daughter. We had an excellent meal at 'Pomodoro e Mozzarella' last week so keen to see the difference.
Excellent friendly welcome - all the staff very professional and attentive. Nice restaurant - bit quieter than 'next door' - a noticeable step up in quality. We had be a mixture of drinks to start a Bellini, Tequila Sunrise, Peroni and sparkling water. There were already olives on the table and bread and bread crisps arrived shortly afterwards. Very pleasant lead in to ordering. For starters we had Asparagi alla Milanese, Gamberi con salsa picante, Melanzane alla parmigiana, a Prosciuto wrapped Chicken dish from the specials and garlic bread for our Grandson. All excellently executed and very generous sized portions.
For our mains we had Penne fantasia, Scaloppine alla milanese, Petto di pollo ai funghi Fegato alla veneziana and Spaghetti Bolognese for our Grandson. Again all superbly cooked and presented - excellent. The Fegato was particularly nice – the liver cooked superbly – soft and juicy. Slight shame that served with sautéed potatoes (which were very good) as would have preferred the traditional polenta. That said this was a much much better Fegato all veneziana than I had in Venice !We enjoyed a bottle of the Syrah Salento I.G.P. with our meal – really tasty.
For a limited number of desserts we enjoyed the Crespelle San Lorenzo - packed with cream and amaretti biscuits and amaretto, Cassata alla fiorentina - really beautifully presented and packed with flavour and a shared strawberry Gelati misti. Complimentary Limoncello and a 'mock' alcoholic orange sorbet shot for our Grandson rounded off a veritable feast. This will become one of our go-to Italian restaurants. Cannot fault it - really really good - the food, the service and the ambience. By the time we left it was packed and this a Thursday night. I am not at all surprised.

Read reviews from here and when in Eastbourne, we went. What a great place, even though it was a Wednesday, it was very full with 2 birthday parties and lots of family gatherings. I had the recommended starter, and a Gnocchi, while my partner ate from the set menu. We met a local who used to run a famous Italian restaurant in London, He was sitting on the next table and asked me why I chose this particular restaurant to eat at, he assumed that I had been there before when we first talked, I said about the online reviews being very favorable, and he, being Italian, said I was very right to eat here, He does twice a week, lovely man, hope to meet him again one day.We were given Limoncellos, frozen, as the Italians serve them, and we left a £20 tip for a £65 bill as we were so impressed.

Visited this restaurant twice now, both alone and with colleagues on a business trip and can't fault it. The staff are helpful and friendly without being over bearing, and made me feel very comfortable. The food is delicious - I would highly recommend the fish and seafood stew which is full of fish, prawns, squid, clams and mussels, and a very generous portion. It's quite pricey, but for the food and the service (and the free limoncello ice cream shot at the end), its well worth a visit.

We chose this restaurant as it was near our hotel and looked very nice. We were delighted with the choice. Service was excellent but this is a family run restaurant so that was to be expected. No complaints on the food, just too much on the menu to take in but no one rushed you. Lovely decor and tables were nicely apart from each other.
Thoroughly enjoyable and great dining. Don't miss.

Enjoyed a lovely meal here on Sunday evening. The waiting staff were efficient and friendly and the food was excellent. We tried the king prawns with salsa, calves liver and veal. They have special menus for 2 or 3 courses under £25 each, extremely good value. We couldn't make dessert as too full. Would certainly eat here when we come back to Eastbourne.

We visited today for my grandmothers 90th birthday, the waiting staff were wonderful and couldn't help enough, and the food... Gorgeous and well made. I can highly recommend the muscle starter and the chocolate fudge cake... To die for. Thank you for making my nan's birthday a special one

Very nice, reasonably priced food. The set lunch/dinner menu is especially good value for money. 6 of us went to celebrate one person's 65th birthday and one couple's silver wedding.. The birthday boy received a card and we all had free Limoncello at the end of the meal,
We had a lovely time and although we were the last to leave they didn't seem in any hurry for us to go.

For a week night the place was crowded which shows it is a popular restaurant. Service was good - although we had to ask three times for our drinks but, as they were busy, this was understandable. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his meal but I am afraid to say that I did not enjoy mine at all and therefore my plate went back nearly full. When we received the bill I pointed out to the waiter that we had not been charged for my dinner and he said that was because I did not eat it. We thought that was extremely kind of the restaurant but when my husband placed the money in the 'wallet' it was whisked away from the table very quickly. We waited for our change but the waiter did not appear again. I am all for leaving tips (and we would have done) but not the £8.00 we were expecting back so I left there feeling hungry and rather miffed. We would not go back there again.
