Have been to this restaurant three times and find it very mediocre and overpriced. My fiancé struggles to find anything he really fancies and £22 for two ver small lamb chops was outrageous.

The food is reliable and the wine is good quality. Service is excellent. It seemed quite expensive but as a group of nine guys, the bill included a couple of beers and five bottles of wine so that may have boosted the bottom line somewhat.
I would certainly go back.

This is the best Italian Restaurant I have been to for a long long time. The welcome, service, quality of food was simply tremendous. My only regret is that I do not live in Eastbourne nor visit often. If you live in Eastbourne or are holidaying there I recommend you go there!!

We were recommended this restaurant by a taxi driver who had his wedding reception here! The food and the service were fantastic.

Went to this restaurant for my dads birthday, the restaurant was busy but our table of ten was very well catered for. Great portion sizes and lovely food, we were the last in the restaurant but didn't feel uncomfortable or pressured to leave.

This nice little restaurant is such a gem. My husband and I walked in without a reservation on a Tuesday evening and were quickly shown a table. The menu is fairly large so it took me a moment to decide. We each had a glass of the montepulciano which was fantastic. I started with the primavera salad that had a presentation to die for. Fresh Avacado, tomato, cucumber and hard boiled egg over a bed of mixed greens. My husband asked for a small portion of the Taglietelle dell Duca which was a tomato and cream sauce with bits of ham. This was delicious and I helped him finish it! For my main I had Scallopine Millanese. The veal was cooked very well and came with a side of pasta with tomato sauce, I just wish there was a sauce on the veal bc it just seemed a bit dry. But I still ate the entire plate!!!! My husband had calves liver in sage butter that came with potatos and fresh veggies. An absolutely lovely meal and we would gladly go back.

We had a lovely meal here on a busy Saturday night. I would definately advise booking. The staff were really friendly and efficient , it is clearly a very popular busy place. The food was good and plentiful with good service and not too expensive either. Very good place to eat in Eastbourne.

This restaurant was obviously very popular (and we did go on a Saturday night) but I was just a bit disappointed by the not very welcoming staff. Food was very good (although probably more pricey than it should have been) but it was almost impossible to get a smile from the first two staff that we were served by. Fortunately another two staff seemed to take over and they were much better. I suspect that the restaurant staffs up for a Saturday night and uses less well-trained staff? Probably a big mistake.

Attended a Dinner and presentation for the Civil Service Internationl Bowling Tournament. The dinner was exceptional!! Every meal was served hot and very tasty, the organisation was spot on, and all staff were pleasant and attentive. I had the Parma ham & Melon, Sea Bass and veg. Cooked to perfection. Tiramisu, yum then lovely coffee to finish. With such a large 60/70 people to serve it was extremely good. Would recommend this restaurant to everyone well done. Hope to visit again if we are in the area again.

Last minute decision to eat out last Saturday night and we arrived at La Locanda without a reservation. They were really helpful and found us a table despite being very busy. Service was superb, attentive without being over bearing, knowledgeable and efficient. The food was excellent, I had Mussels to start and a King Prawn main and it was very fresh and very tasty. All washed down with a bottle of Prosecco and a shared dessert. Was also pleasantly suprised at the bill, very good value given the overall quality. I don't do reviews very often but these chaps deserve the positive feedback.

We visited family in Eastbourne and went to this restaurant for Sunday Lunch , we received such a lovely warm welcome, the food was delicious and plentiful, I had the prawn cocktail followed by salmon with new potatoes asparagus beans and baby tomatoes finishing off with fresh fruit salad , after the wine we had coffee and then given complimentary liqueurs. The restaurant was packed which shows you how popular it is. If we go back to Eastbourne again I would love to ear there again

Have eaten both here and the next-door Pomodoro e Mozzarella several time and love them both. However, there is a more relaxed and somehow "grander" atmosphere here which I do enjoy. the food is classic italian doen exceedingly well - Ii have yet to be disappointed in a dish. Desrevedly claims a high spot among the town's restaurants.

Although I booked a table for 4 some months previously, we had an uncomfortable 14 minute wait for our table ! The hostess apologised, but did not give any discount or favour to ease our "pain". The food, service & general ambience of this restaurant is lovely & I can thoroughly recommend it. Just make sure you insist on your booking time ! By the way, it is not cheap eats, so if you're on a budget its not the place for you.

We found the place by recommendation of the hotel staff.
Very good food selection, the restaurant is run by an Italian gentleman. It is very popular, so come early or late or better make reservations.Very nice, friendly and efficient service staff.
We could not find something suiting us better in Eastbourne, so we ended up in this restaurant 3 times.Prices are mid to upper scale.
NO PIZZA, therefor go the the restaurant next door, run by the same staff.

Once again (whilst at the tennis) we visited here. Meal excellent. Staff very friendly. We love this restaurant and during the last ten years we have been coming the standards are still as good. Just wish we lived nearer.

A good old fashioned Italian restaurant. No fuss just excellent quality food beautifully cooked and cheerfully served. What more can I say. It's probably the biggest restaurant I've ever been in but do book if you can as it is VERY popular.

From the warm welcome on a wet and windy evening to the complementary lemon drink at the end of our meal it was a perfect eating experience. The complementary olives and bread were followed by two fish dishes that were cooked to perfection. I cannot recommend this restaurant more highly.

We chose the three course menu and were not disappointed.
This restaurant offers style, class and totally different choices from other restaurants on the menu. The presentation and the quality of the food was top class.
As a visitor to Eastbourne we used the hotel passport that gave 10% reduction on the cost, so we were especially happy with our final bill.
Add to that the friendly, efficient and speedy service on a very busy evening then I cannot recommend more highly!
We will definitely go back when we return to Eastbourne. Just make sure you book a table as some people had to be turned away.
Thank you for a lovely evening.

Went with with husband and friend on Saturday evening. Because of the tennis, it was heaving but there was no shortage of waiting staff; in fact, they were almost falling over each other!! Very good menu and the main courses were well priced, but I did feel the starters were v expensive for what one got. Efficient service and good food, but, funnily enough, it felt a little bland, but maybe that was just me

Ad hoc visit and enjoyed our time there. We were welcomed and was soon receiving our wine whilst we decided what to order. We chose pizza's and they both very good. The fillings were from fresh vegetables and chicken. They were a good 12" and were given doggy boxes to finish the pizza later. Very friendly staff. Mid range costs but value for money and service.

THE place to go in town in my experience. Professional, friendly. Beautifully and authentically laid out. Both meals I had there were more than entirely satisfactory.
