My husband and I had a delightful meal here one Saturday night in June. The wwaiting staff operated with military precision and everything we had was fresh, beautifully presented and very tasty.
There was a lot of training going on and some waiting staff had 'shadows' who were clearly at the early stages of their training.
We enjoyed the limoncello sorbet, on the house. A nice touch.

My husband and I went to La Locanda Del Duca yesterday for our evening meal and we were so pleased we did as it was an amazing restaurant. The staff were friendly and helpful and gave us their undivided attention with a smile and a laugh although they were really busy. The food was fantastic and if we lived in the area we'd eat there every week! We'd like to thank all the staff who helped make our stay in Eastbourne extra special.

I cannot imagine that the great town of Eastbourne has no better Independent restaurant .. But as tactful guests ,we were underwhelmed .. I suspect that had the waiter dealing with our table shown more than cursory interest when taking our order , even graced us with a smile ,our memory of this place would be better. I chose a dish of pasta ,which included four prawns ... As an amateur chef ( a senior citizen who enjoys fine dining in all over Europe ) I thought the meal 'sparse '

My family had lived in East Bourne ( sic ) in the late seventeenth century ,so I had hoped for something a 'cut above ' ..the very average restaurant that i
Seems to be La Locando Del Duca . Put it down to my sensitivity to the attention of a clearly un- motivated waiter ...We now live in London clearly a sophisticated area for culinary fare . . Finally ,I feel historical affection for Eastbourne ,and hope to discover a Restaurant a bit more sophisticated on my next visit .

We were looking for a treat to round off our day at the tennis and we were certainly not disappointed here! As a walk in at around 8.30pm (no reservation) to our amazement and delight we were seated immediately. The menu is traditionally Italian and the set menus for 2 or 3 courses offer an excellent choice and extremely good value. I thought the portions may have been smaller for the price (and understandably so) but the food was generous and the presentation was beautiful. Lots of great choices and nice to see veal and calves liver, which we chose as main courses. The liver was sublime, flavourful and cooked to perfection. The veal came with a generously mushroomy cream sauce. Leave room for dessert whatever you do as the tiramisu was delicious and as for the home made ice creams, you just have to try them! Cinnamon was my favourite and the pistachio was a close second! The service was very friendly, the server really took time to chat, and efficient in a full restaurant. The atmosphere was upbeat and jovial - just full of people enjoying their dining experience. I cannot wait to go back!

We were given a 2 hour window (5pm walk-ins) as the restaurant becomes very busy from 7pm, but the staff were nevertheless very polite & accommodating. Food was excellent & presented with particular flair.
As Londoners, we found the prices pretty reasonable, and the restaurant has a classy, grown-up ambience that lends itself to quality dining very well. Recommended.

There are some good reviews about Italian restaurants in Eastbourne and we weren't there long enough to try them but this place must rate highly against them. A buzzy atmosphere with most tables occupied so book in advance. Very friendly welcome which lasted all night from all the staff. Good varied menu, plenty of choice. My two fish dishes of whitebait and main of monkfish were excellent and plentiful. My wife's risotto was really good as well. Overall a great experience. Don't miss out

Never fail to choose well, this time the chicken 2 pepperoni lovely and hubby had a risotto he really enjoyed. Still made room for desserts though. A good choice of wines for many pockets and again not let down here. Finally all the team there continue to be the icing on the cake..here's to the next visit! Grazie!

We enjoy eating here.Good interesting food ,friendly attentive front of house staff.....all add up to a restaurant that is enjoyable to eat in.Last visit we ate Brochettes of Seafood with saffron rice.Pasta dishes are what you'd expect from a restaurant of this standard.
Eastbourne is fortunate to have La Locanda Del Duca.

Arrived at 10pm doubting we would get a table but luckily we did and couldn't fault it. Bread & olives brought out followed by our starters, whitebait & squid which were both large portions & perfect. Mains were Lamb in a honey sauce & pasta with king prawns and a lovely sauce. Bottle of red wine total bill £56 which was very reasonable for fantastic food. Staff were also so nice, friendly, didn't rush us even though we arrived without booking so late in the evening.

I enjoyed the fixed price dinner, which offered a good choice at £22.50 and the other three of us ate a la carte. Each course was delicious and beautifully and efficiently served. My favourite calves liver was offered grilled only on the Fixed Menu but they gladly changed it for my favourite : "a la Veneziana" ( fried with onions) when I asked, without additional charge. We were surprised that the cook was in fact Albanian as the meal was truly exactly as we would get in Italy (which we visit frequently). The owner came to ask us if we enjoyed the meal, which was a nice touch. We will return! .

This is a bright and pleasantly decorated and furnished (and exclusively) Italian restaurant offering excellent value fixed price lunch menus or full a la carte selections in perfect proportions. All our dishes were well prepared and presented.
It's an ideal place for the genteel folk of Eastbourne to unfold their quite probably regular patronage to the almost fawning staff, who reciprocate responsively to individual whims issued in cadenced terms. So no loud voices, soft classical music barely discernible in the background and immaculately dressed staff on hand to serve good food, and wait discreetly and quietly.

My wife and I visit Locanda Del Duca whenever we are in Eastbourne. We ate there last week 13th May 2016 and I felt it was time to do another review. The manager is charming and says hello to all the dinners. The staff are great and they will always share a joke. Two of them got married last year (not to each other) and we were able to catch up on news with them. Everyone is really professional and the service is top notch. We normally get a great table located near the front window. I strongly advise pre booking, especially on Friday/Sat/ Sunday evenings. They get really busy. We have seen people arrive without a booking and the staff try really hard to fit them in if at all possible. The food is great. The atmosphere is wonderful. A bit later in the evening the lights are dimmed, which is great for intimate dinning. Give it a try.

We ate here with family last Saturday. There were 2 elderly members of our family (can be slightly picky) and our 6 month old son, along with 4 other adults. What can I say? The food was absolutely sterling; our starters were enormous and delicious. Can recommend both the prawns and tricolor salad.
Mains were wonderful too; I had a gnocchi with gorgonzola which, if you like that sort of thing, was great! My husband, who isn't usually effusive about food was waxing lyrical all night about his veal with mushroom sauce. Other family members very pleased too. Wine and desserts also lovely.
Service: friendly and very accomodating. When I realised I'd not bought enough food for our son, the waiter was very helpful in providing a chicken breast for me to cut up and give to him (along with the bread and other veggie bits he nibbled on). Nothing was too much trouble and everyone was very friendly.
Would absolutely go back in a heartbeat if I'm in Eastbourne again.

Very accommodating here, we arrived with no reservation but they accommodated are needs within a very short time. Quite a busy restaurant but staff remained friendly and welcoming throughout. Food was amazing I had a tagliatelle with king prawn, lemon and cream sauce, it was fantastic as was my husbands lasagne. Reasonably priced and good portion sizes. Good selection of drinks and deserts available to order. Quite an extensive menu in all areas . Would definitely recommend if looking for a good Italian in Eastbourne
