The meal was good served by a very attentive staff. Unfortunately we were in there on our own as it was early. Olives were already on the table followed by 2 types of bread. Couldn't manage a dessert. With our coffee we were served a refreshing lemon sorbet.

When dining out, I rarely choose Italian restaurants, but friends invited me to La Locando Del Duca, which will now be my first choice among Eastbourne restaurants. There were six of us, and we were delighted to be given a round table, as it's so pleasant to be able to see and hear everyone.
The menu is extensive whigh is unusual in a restaurant of this caliber. There are some set menus, but we chose a la carte, and all six of us were delighted with the food and wine that we had chosen.I chose scallops followed by calves liver with bacon, and it was so good that I found myself unable to follow the conversation around the table......
The food was well presented, and the service was professional and efficient.Looking forward to taking guests there in the future!

Visited La Locanda Del Duca recently and had a great experience. We did book beforehand and was a bit disappointed with the table for 2 which was adjacent to service station. Food did not disappoint however, Lobster was a fantastic, a bit pricey but worth the money as plenty of it. Cheese board was definitely a winner and Pina Colada cocktail spot on. Would definitely go back again.

The food served here is interesting and well cooked with a good menu. This would have been a four star review if the service had been a little less detached. My empty side salad plate was removed before I had finished my main course! We were whisked through our meal without a smile or eye contact which left an impression efficiency but no warmth. The young lady waitress was far better than the men.

Good choice of tasty food well cooked with lovely sauces, staff attentive and good atmosphere and now the added bonus of a wonderful gluten free cake. It is good to find a restaurant that serves a very good choice of gluten free food for all courses that tastes very good as well

We have used this restaurant for the last 3 years on 3 separate occasions, each time it has been a perfect experience. The staff are extremely efficient and work in harmony with each other (it really is something to see). The atmosphere is friendly, the food is amazing. I really cannot fault this restaurant and would go so far as to say it is up there with my top 3 dining experiences. Make sure you book as it is very popular but not overcrowded.
See you again next year x

If you read any of my other reviews, you'll see that Italian Food isn't really my thing. I've been visiting Eastbourne once or twice a year for over 40 years and this is my first Italian Meal in the town. I've walked past La Locanda De Duca so many times without even looking at the menu. Anyway we paid our visit on Monday. We were early (6-30) but by 7pm there were a lot of occupied tables, which is impressive for a Monday. I can see why. Its a nice large restaurant with plenty of space between tables. Lovely bread to start with and a large varied menu. I went for the Steak Rossini which was superb. Cooked just as i like it and full of flavour. My wife had a Chicken Dish with mushrooms and white wine, and my son a Prawn Dish. We all had excellent desserts (Panna Cotta/Creme Brulee and Profiteroles. The small free Lemon Sorbet at the end was delicious too. So, if like me, youre not mad on Pasta/Spaghetti, dont be put off going here, the food is excellent, and there's loads of choice. Good service too. We will definitely return.

Convenient location not only for the town centre but also the theatre. An extensive menu with chef specials that vary, and more than just pasta with wide choice of meat and fish dishes. Starters are good but dessert choices slightly limited. A good wine list. Service is courteous and prompt and yet it is easy to spend a couple of hours there in the evening. Not the cheapest but good value for the quality.

Always good service, as with its sister restaurant next door (Pomodoro) the food always tastes very fresh. Nothing to excite, just consistent good food and good service. Often wonder why they don't raise levels a notch. With Pomodoro satisfying the masses, La Locanda Del Duca has a fantastic opening to raise the bar completely. Eastbourne needs it. I know you need the right chef and maybe a bit of modernisation but the chance is there.

A night out at the Theatre usually means my wife and I combine it with a good meal. So for our recent night out at the Congress Theatre we chose this restaurant. It was a first rate choice. We ate from the fixed price menu and were not disappointed with the choice, quality and service. All of these aspects were excellent. We had veal as our main course, which was cooked to perfection, with excellent side dishes of potatoes and vegetables. I would suggest this is a venue more suited to the more mature couple rather than young family groups. Overall a real pleasure to dine here.

Recently visited this restaurant as a party of nine, we found the service to be excellent and the food fantastic.
I would say the cost are medium to high, but well worth it.
This was my second visit but not the last.

The menu was wide ranging everything from a simple bowl of pasta to steaks and fish stews, The only problem was there was there were too many tempting dishes. A party of 17 of us and we were all delighted with our choices.
Despite the fact that it was a very busy Saturday night the service was good, very attentive.

Service and the staff were absolutely excellent, particularly our waitress Sabrina. Diring the meal the Maitre D' visited our table to say he hoped we enjoyed our visit.
In truth it was a nice restaurant but personally I was not over thrilled with the food. I had chosen a 2 course fixed price menu for my wife and I and whilst we both agreed the food was passable, neither of us was excited.
The wine we chose to wash dinner down with was a Merlot. Sadly, it was rather acidic.

Very polite and attentive staff, who managed to squeeze us in despite not having booked. A quality classic italian meal at a reasonable price.
