It was a cold day in Eastbourne yesterday but we had a warm welcome at Del Duca. There was a very good value set lunch menu but the main menu was tempting so we ate a la carte, mainly because I wanted fish. We shared a starter of prawn skewers and they brought us each a fully garnished plate and one skewer each which was ample as a starter. I then had grilled monkfish with grilled vegetables which was light and really good. My husband's lamb cutlets were also very good and a very generous portion. They could perhaps have been a bit pinker but he still enjoyed them. Puddings were also good, and the Sicilian house wine was smooth and fairly priced. Altogether we had a most enjoyable meal. Service was attentive but not obtrusive and very friendly.

This restaurant offers good value with good service, if a little rushed. But t if you are looking for atmosphere, forget it.

We came for a birthday evening meal.

Pros:
-great Italian food

Cons:
-interior could do with an update
-staff were not particularly friendly and were leaning across us to collect dishes.

Would we go back? Probably not.

Excellent restaurant with a great atmosphere and food.

Book in advance to ensure you get a table and enjoy the family run business.

We had a really good Italian meal here, with attentive staff and charming ambiance - but not really suitable for children as they have a sister restaurant 2 doors down that is !

Very busy on a Saturday, booking is definitely a must. The service is prompt and the menu extensive. We had the steak, which was ok but was rather pallid looking and had none of the delicious searing on the outside; it had not been aged and was pretty tasteless. I had ordered rare, but it arrived medium rare. All the meals were beautifully presented and the pancakes for pudding were utterly divine.
Despite being full, strangely there was a complete lack of atmosphere in the restaurant; maybe this is because it’s so large and felt more like a canteen. The staff are efficient and polite but somewhat aloof and distant. In general, the food is OK but expensive, I would go back but this wouldn’t be my first choice for a meal in Eastbourne.

Found this restaurant by chance whilst walking around Eastbourne, we hadn't heard of it before but thought we'd try it as the menu looked good. The restaurant itself is big and was fairly busy when we arrived but was given a nice table and immediately given bread and olives.
The food we ordered was presented really nicely and was delicious and the selection of vegetables were very well cooked. We were given a lemon cello drink when the bill was brought to us which was a nice touch and in fact when we asked the waitress what the drink was she offered us another, which was a really nice touch.
It was refreshing to find an independent Italian restaurant which had a wide range of food and did not just offer pasta as so many do now days. The meal itself was fantastic value for money, service was brilliant and I enjoyed it so much that I recommended it to an Italian colleague of mine.
I have really missed going for a decent Italian meal and this restaurant was a great find. I would definitely go back to Eastbourne just to go to this restaurant.

Our first visit and definitely won't be our last. We went for late lunch/early dinner yesterday, hadn't booked but would certainly recommend booking in future as we were lucky to get a table and it soon filled up. Really genuine warm welcome, service very good and food delicious, staff very friendly. We ate off the set menu which was delicious, large portions, hot and tasty. Beautiful traditional tables settings, highly recommended for somewhere different from the Italian chains of restaurants.

If you enjoy the taste of Italian food then this is THE place to go!
Wide range of fare, very pleasant atmosphere and attentive pleasant staff.Be warned, this restaurant is very popular, so reservations are almost certainly necessary.
I really can't think of a criticism to make. The only problem we have encountered on this and previous visits is trying to find a parking place!

As our second option (first one had no availability) I was pleasantly surprised. You really need to book in Eastbourne. Who would guess in winter but this was defiantly confirmed on our second night.
You walk in and feel like you are in an old dinning room with tablecloths to the floor and older couples enjoying a pleasant supper.
The service was excellent and they couldn't do enough for us including allowing me taste test the wine by glass. Once chosen my red wine was served in a beautiful big blown glass. Really made me feel special.
The kids menu is great but comes with a warning as the potions are huge. Can tell you that we all enjoyed the spaghetti bolognaise for a light lunch the next day. My 5 year old loved it.
As the evening progressed it was heartening to see many families come in with at least 3 generations present. It is a lovely Restuarant with good food and the staff know how to make you feel special.

We had a family lunch here and lingered over it because we had not met up in ages. The surroundings are cosy and comfortable and the menu extensive enough to satisfy our veggies and carnivores. The service was friendly and efficient and, although we were the last to leave, at no time did we feel hurried. Enjoyable meal and good value.

Took mother there for her 80th birthday. She has dairy allergy and gluten allergy. The manager was amazing and personally made sure mums food was suitable. All of our food was delicious - not cheap but well worth the price.

We have been coming to Eastbourne in February for a few years to celebrate my wife's birthday. This time we did a 4-day break and had dinner every night at this restaurant and every meal was absolutely delicious. We could only manage 2 courses as we were full up at the end. And I was dying to have a dessert, having seen them pass my table, What with having a very large glass of wine which really quite excellent couldn't anything else

Without booking, we were made to feel very welcome, served promptly and had fresh tasty food. A relaxed atmosphere with smart staff, linen tablecloths and napkins. Our water glasses were kept topped up, and our other drinks were served in nice glasses. We would definitely recommend this restaurant. Mid price range.

Staying Eastbourne for the weekend at The Grand Hotel, we wanted to eat elsewhere on our second night and chanced upon this restaurant. There are many Italian restaurants in that part of Eastbourne and this proved a good choice. Our order was taken by a lovely lady and the food appeared in no time. It had the authentic taste one wants and was delicious. We entered quite early and by the time we left the place was filling rapidly.
All in all good experience after fine dining at The Grand Hotel-and reasonably priced!

Went here yesterday evening, service and food were excellent. We went for the set menu as there was a great choice on it. I had the king prawns in batter to start and then the calves liver and bacon, it came with small chunks of roast potatoes, broccoli, cauliflower and carrots all cooked perfectly and finished with tiramisu. My daughter had the mozarrela tri colore to start and the cannelloni, it was a large portion and she couldn't finish it but delicious. The atmosphere in the restaurant was lovely will definitely be going there again.
