My husband and I together with my 93 year old mother-in-law stayed for a week-end. We had a superior sea-view room which was expensive but probably worth the extra. It was a lovely room. The only single room available for my mother-in-law (I understand there is no single occupancy rate for a double room) was an economy single but it was fine for the price. We spent time together in our room enjoying the views.
The whole hotel was comfortable and inviting and we enjoyed the breakfasts and a two course dinner each evening. The staff were all attentive, helpful and cheerful. As my mother-in-law has limited mobility, a big bonus was the unloading bay, the outside ramp, the lift to all floors and no steps to negotiate at all. Pre-booked parking at the rear of the hotel was also a big plus.
When we return to Eastbourne we would have no hesitation in looking to book again.

My husband and I together with my mother stayed for four nights from the 5th to 9th August in rooms 220 and 241 respectively. These rooms were classed as superior double rooms with sea view and it was worth paying a little extra for the views. Both rooms were well appointed with modern en-suites. Room 220 had a lovely bay window and room 241 had a double aspect as it was on the corner/end of building. We ate dinner at the hotel 3 out of our 4 nights stay with a 3 course meal meal costing approx £25 pp. Breakfast had a good selection to choose from and the staff were all extremely helpful and friendly. Overall a very pleasant stay and for a traditional seaside break I would recommend. We paid for parking at the hotel as my mum has difficulty walking but do check before you book if you need this facility as they only have 9 spaces available.

My wife and I stayed at The Langham Hotel on Saturday 3rd and found our room (228) compact, clean and tidy and the morning breakfast was enjoyable (service instead of buffet...tasty Smoked Salmon and scrambled eggs). I had to park the car at the secured (locked gate, could not see cameras) TA for £8.00 as I could not find a space in the side roads. The service by the staff overall was attentive and helpful, plus it was a nice touch for the bottle of water by reception on leaving for our drive

Staff here are absolutely fantastic. Afternoon tea for my aunts birthday and she was made to feel really special. Food was great value and delicious. Bar person Harry and our waiter Miguel were so friendly very attentive and catered for us so well. This was my third visit and it just gets better and better. Lovely lady on reception (didn’t get her name) but a lovely experience was had by all thanks to Harry and Miguel. Wonderful visit!

The Langham is a traditional esplandade hotel of the type typical of UK seaside towns, we'd never stayed in one before but as a location for visiting the various places we wanted to see it was great, and as the whole point of visiting the seaside is to see the sea being on the esplanade seemed like a great idea. I'm going to get the potential elephant in the room out of the way now and mention parking: there is parking, but apart from a small number of spaces this is 300m down the road in the TA centre. Frankly being able to offer parking at all as a seafront hotel probably built before most people had cars is probably an achievement, but I can see how this might not be ideal for some people. My advice would be that if you *think* is is going to be an issue for you (it wasn't for us) then ring them to chat about it. Which leads me on to...

The staff (who are very diverse, if you think Eastbourne is just full of retired old folks, forget it!) are uniformly cheerful, helpful and willing to assist with things. I really couldn't fault their attitude, from the obviously senior chap at the desk when we checked in to the cheerful and bubbly woman who often did the car park for us. A really nice touch was the woman who did our checkout and gave us a small bottle of their minaral water for the drive home: a small but really thoughtful thing to do. Breakfast had plenty of choice for both cooked and uncooked, and you can sit in the covered verandah and watch the sea while you eat it. We didn't have a sea view for our room, but it was big enough, the bed was comfortable and it was very clean and free from any noise from the surrounding road. In fact as it's right at the end of the esplanade it's free from the noise you get in a UK seaside town in the evening too.

If I was returning to Eastbourne, I'd be more than happy to stay at the Langham again.

We were in Eastbourne for a family birthday celebration. We had a great room with a bay window and sea view (see photo): cost more, but worth it, especially when weather wet on first morning. (Balcony not in use on 'health and safety grounds') Breakfast in conservatory watching the world go by. Excellent service (I don't think I've been to a hotel with so many attentive staff in the restaurant.) Limited on-site parking at £9 a night (only 8 spaces) and on Royal Parade at £4 a day. Otherwise free kerbside parking in nearby residential streets, but not easy to find a space. However, on returning to the hotel at 10.30 pm on the first evening when it was raining, chef (who happened to be in reception and who was shortly going home) kindly volunteered to move his car and he ran ahead in the rain to show us the space and then, after we had parked, gave us a lift back.

Visited here with my partner for a weekend of recuperation for him post op.

Arrived and room wasn’t ready which was ok as we were a little early. They stored bags and we wandered off to find somewhere lunch. We had booked a superior sea view room and it was very nice. Good sized, great view, very comfortable bed and a lovely bathroom. Had bottles of water, robes and slippers in room which was a nice touch.

My breakfast was very nice. Large bow of fresh fruit and the continental breakfast, which included a warm croissant and a Danish pastry. My partner had the cooked breakfast and this was a tad disappointing. The egg, bacon and sausage were either over cooked or had been sat keeping warm. It resulted in a hard yolk in egg and sausage egg and bacon having hard edges. I would have returned it, but he not overly fussy and ate it anyway.

Overall it was a very good stay, staff were pleasant and helpful and position of hotel is good. I would definitely return and recommend to others. I’ve already told my mum and stepdad about it for one of their coach trips.

Excellent hotel in a great location. The superior double room we had was large and very comfortable with bath robes and slippers supplied, as was fresh bottled water every day. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. We were particularly grateful for allowing us to keep our car parked at the hotel for a while after we had checked out. Very good standard of food both in the restaurant and bar.

From the moment we arrived we were made very welcome.

Our sea view room on the third floor was delightful, very spacious, light and airy. The bed was very comfortable with pure cotton sheets and pillow cases. Lovely soft, fluffy towels in the bathroom.

The hotel is is in a great location on the seafront, near a Zebra Crossing, useful for us as not so quick on our feet now! Also there is a very pretty garden nearby.

Breakfast in the Conservatory was very nice and the choice, quality and presentation of the food was first class.

It would have been possible to book a parking space but as the school holidays had not yet begun and we went out for drives most days, we chanced being able to find a space and mostly were able to find one after a few attempts on occasions!

This the best hotel we have stayed in and hope to return later in the year, all being well.

Lovely hotel in great location. Friendly, helpful staff and the best hotel breakfast we have had in a long time. Our room was immaculate and large. There is a very nice bar, with lovely sea views. I have no hesitation in recommending this fine hotel.

I stayed at the Langham Hotel last night on my way to Bexhill for an early game of golf but 70 miles from home and a tortuous drive to get there. Normally, I’ll book a room in Bexhill for this but my usual hotel had no single rooms available and wanted £90 for the night.

An on-line quote direct with the hotel got me a single, sea view room and breakfast for £56. I took a chance, after all it was only for one night!

What a pleasant surprise I had. This started with a highly professional reception desk. My room key was ready and everything I was likely to need was courteously explained to me.

Yes, my room was small but everything was there and clean. This included a bathrobe and slippers! I slept well and enjoyed a well cooked English breakfast in the morning.

Well done Langham! I will return.

Quite a nice hotel, right on the front, and appears to be better maintained than most of the others round about. Pleasant breakfast room and good breakfast. Very friendly and helpful staff. But it is over-priced, at least in June. We paid £182 for the room, in advance, and while we knew it wouldn’t have a sea view, we were disappointed that it was very small, and that we could hear the constant roar of a large air conditioning unit at ground level two floors below. There was a small plug-in fan which we used to make the room tolerable in the night (it was exceptionally hot - this would not usually be an issue). I would stay here again but only if I could get a sea view room for no more than around £150, or, say, £75 for a room like the one we had, given that I can see that rate online for this hotel now (or I might consider £100 if two breakfasts were included).

We stayed at the Langham Hotel on a 5 day Kirby Coaches holiday Monday-Friday the last week of June. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel deserves its four star AA rating. The staff were friendly, polite and very helpful. The food and service was excellent. The room (228) was compact and immaculately clean and quiet. The en suite looked new and of a high quality. The complimentary daily bottles of South Downs water were much appreciated. The lounge and bar area were furnished and decorated to a high and welcoming standard with interesting prints and photos adorning the walls. Sitting outside in the evening watching the sea breaking against the beach was the icing on the cake.

I've given this hotel a three rating but it would have been a 4 or even 5 if it wasn't for the attitude of the owner, Neil. The hotel itself was spotless and we had a nice room with a sea view. The vegetarian breakfast was very good and the veggie burger we had in the bar is probably the nicest of it's type that I've ever had. All the staff were extremely helpful and efficient. However ... here comes the but. I had booked an accessible room for a wheelchair through an agency. As this is an important detail, I rang the hotel the day before to check that they had our booking. It became apparent very quickly that they had a room booked for us but it wasn't an accessible one. Neil came on the phone and demanded to know if we were with a coach party (we weren't), whether I had got the wrong hotel (I hadn't) and was very suspicious indeed that an accessible room had been requested. Now, at the time, I gave him the benefit of the doubt, I didn't know whose fault it was, but the agency specialises in booking accessible rooms so I kind of feel that they wouldn't have got that bit wrong but there you go. I could forgive the hotel anyway if Neil had shown even the slightest sense of apology or some sort of humility and understanding. In contrast, he seemed extremely put out. He went away to 'try and sort something out' and rang me back. He refused to tell me at the beginning whether they had a suitable room or not. Instead, he spent some time blaming me for the confusion. I had apparently said I wasn't with the coach party when I was, I had got my own name wrong and the phone was so bad that he couldn't hear a word that I had said. I put up with this with good grace I think. But when he called me 'darling' I had to say something and politely asked him not to call me darling. His response? A very bad-tempered 'look, I'm the owner of this hotel, I'll say what I want'! And then proceeded to call me darling for the rest of the call. This was so unnecessary as it turned out that they had reserved an accessible room after all and a simple, 'sorry for the confusion' would have been fine. Unfortunately, he was grumpy and defensive. I do hope however that he was just having a one-off bad day and that I just got the brunt of it.

A lovely Sunday lunch to celebrate my mum's 80th birthday. She wanted low key but I wanted to do something that would make it special.
Booked a table for 4 for the Jazz Sunday Lunch. Plenty of choice, beautifully cooked and presented food. We enjoyed 3 courses with a glass of prosecco, coffee and mints all for £28pp - I challenge anyone to find better!
The staff were very attentive and amenable.
I highly recommend you pay a visit!
Thank you Langham staff!

We stayed at the Langham Hotel on a GB 5 day holiday in May this year. A warm welcome and we were soon in our comfortable room with all the usual amenities. The bed was comfortable and immaculate and the room was clean. The bathroom was clean and large enough for us with a good sized walk-in shower. A small problem with the shower mixer tap was soon attended to in an efficient manner. The meals were of a high standard with a good choice and cooked to perfection, both at breakfast and dinner. Staff were very pleasant and helpful throughout our stay. A nice touch was the birthday card arranged by my sister and provided by the hotel. Thank you. Entertainment was of a good standard and was on most evening. Although a bit of a walk from the pier and town, the weather was so good all week that it didn't bother us at all. The bus stop was close and handy for a trip into town or, as we did one day, a trip to Bexhill. Overall, a very enjoyable stay and we look forward to staying at the Langham again in the future.

Two nights at the Langham. Single room with sea view. Room TINY, but spotlessly clean with french windows and a little balcony overlooking the seafront. Bed comfortable and bathroom similarly spotless with a good quality shower.
Breakfast served in sunny conservatory, speedily delivered by friendly staff.
Everyone very helpful and friendly.
Parking needs to be booked in advance, £9 charge per night. Worth it as difficult to find on-street parking.
Would recommend The Langham for a fuss free seaside break.

We decided to have a belated wedding anniversary celebration and have Sunday Jazz Lunch at The Langham whilst Duality performed. What an excellent decision that was!
Like normal the staff at The Langham are always smiling and very welcoming and greeted us like old friends.
The restaurant staff are always very attentive, but not intrusively so, and we were quickly shown to our table and given a glass of bubbles.
We opted for the 2-course luncheon, starting with prawns/smoked salmon/marie rose sauce on salad and whitebait, followed by roast beef from the trolley. Everything was absolutely delicious. There was no room for dessert although everything looked very tempting.
Duality were again superb and it was a pleasure to be serenaded whilst we ate our lunch and savoured the bottle of merlot we chose to accompany our meal.
Thanks to everybody for another lovely lunch. We will be back again, and hopefully won't leave it another 9 months until we do!
One note of caution: it is best to book as these events are extremely popular and normally fully booked!

This is a really nice hotel at the redoubt end of the sea front. It's old but well-restored and decorated. My room had everything I needed, including a well-stocked tea tray - nice touch to include bottles of water and bathrobes/ slippers. The bathroom was modern and well set-out. The shower pressure was good and the water hot. If I had been staying as a couple of for much longer the room and lack of storage might have been an issue, but my room was priced accordingly.

The public rooms are pleasantly-furnished with a good bar and range of beers including local ales in bottles - again a nice touch, as was the barman checking if I preferred my beer from the shelf or from the fridge. You can sit outside on a small sea front terrace although must take your chance with the smokers.

The food was is good plenty of choice for breakfast and my full English evidently cooked to order. Dinner was fresh, well-prepared and presented.

Finally, they have really helpful staff here - the reception who were willing to release my room when I arrived early, the chamber maid who showed me how to manipulated the latches to open my window, the barman as mentioned and the waiting staff who covered the table that my companions and I were on efficiently, and unobtrusively: one of the party is coeliac: not a problem and her meal was replaced almost immediately with the sauce now gluten-free. Yes all decent restaurants should do this but this was the slick and no-fuss that I saw throughout my stay.

Took my Mum who is 86 to meet up with her friend who is 87 who lives in Eastbourne. She recommended The Langham Hotel.
We arrived in the pouring rain but it was possible to stop outside to unload Mum and the bags and the young lady on reception was very helpful with that. I had pre-booked designated parking at the side of he hotel which I felt was well worth it and because we were coming and going.
Our room was a superior sea view. We had a window to the front and another to the side. It was lovely to open the window and see and hear the sea.
The room was very clean and nicely furnished.
It’s an old building but we had a nice modern bathroom with a shower cabinet. Good towels and nice toiletries.
We had a cups of tea in the bar downstairs and lovely scones and delicious home made brownies and biscuits. The cappuccino was excellent and served hot and the tea was served with a hot water pot. We didn’t have time during our stay to have the afternoon tea in the restaurant but it came highly recommended.
We ate at the hotel both nights of our stay. The first night in the hotel restaurant which was very good .... lovely fresh fish and chips. There was a good choice on the menu and the staff were friendly and welcoming. The hotel has a lot of coach parties arriving so it’s worth booking the restaurant. We couldn’t get in on the second night so we went and ate in the bar - had the most delicious burger!
There is only 1 lift in the hotel and it is very busy first thing in the morning when the coach parties are departing so best to get down early.
Breakfast was good and freshly cooked.
Very pleasant stay .... all the staff were helpful and the hotel has a cosy atmosphere.
Sunrise view from our bedroom

What I loved best was my room which was spotlessly clean, with comfortable bed and lovely seaview. I also liked having breakfast in the conservatory. It was a relaxing experience, much better being served at the table rather than those awful self-service arrangements, and the poached eggs were cooked perfectly.
